3 stars!? For this gym!? Ain't no way…read more.. This place has everything you can want in a gym. It's clean, great amenities, good people and the vibes always right. Sure, you could pay less and even get a bigger gym, but bigger doesn't always equal better. I think of this place as the "Cheers" of gyms. Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.

They have so many classes for all ages. Pickleball is really popular a.t the club and have about 10 courts and teams. The outside is looking good by Sam who works out in the hot sun. I so recommend this family fun club for families that need child care it is there. The front desk is manned by experienced staff that can set you up with the help you need. They have a great physical therapist on site that is really good for people in recovery. Please visit and see what I say is true. I have lost over 100 pounds since joining a feat I thought was impossible. Tks too all of the staff including Theresa who is a class instructor at 9:00 am Monday Wednesday and Friday. Tks to all. My name is Jerry and hope to see you there.

Actually it's 1 star. I tried to give it 1 star but this review was buried and not fair to the…read moreconsumer. I was a loyal member of Sweat Studio when it was located in Nevada City and continued to support the business after it moved to Grass Valley, even referring others and maintaining my membership through COVID. The expanded space allowed for more classes and room to participate. However, over time I became uncomfortable with certain aspects of how the studio was operated. Classes are consistently heated to around 105-108 degrees, and members are strongly discouraged from leaving the room if they feel overheated or unwell. While I understand the purpose of heated classes, I believe participants should be able to take breaks for their own health and safety without judgment. Additionally, the studio environment increasingly reflected the political views of the owner. Posters and messaging expressing political opinions were displayed in the space, which I found distracting in what I expected to be a neutral setting focused on wellness. I also experienced challenges with how concerns were handled. For example, I reported issues with another male member's behavior over an extended period and did not feel supported or reassured that the matter was being addressed. People also are allowed to park in the handicapped parking spot when able bodied. At times, I also sensed inconsistent treatment among clients, which impacted the overall atmosphere. While there are aspects of Sweat Studio that many people may enjoy, my personal experience ultimately led me to look for a fitness environment where I feel more comfortable, supported, and safe.

Since the start of the pandemic I lost some of my healthy routines and gained weight. I have always been a runner and a yogi, but it has been difficult to lose this pandemic weight just through running, and unlike the Bay Area, in the summer it's too hot to run up here! I also have a strong aversion to lifting weights, I would have never considered it "fun". In the short 3 months I have been here, Sweat Studio has completely changed by life and my body. Shelly, the owner is a fantastic teacher, highly motivating, and so kind and welcoming to beginners like me. For the first time in my life, I enjoy working out and feel motivated to push myself past my physical comfort zone. I strongly recommend that you check out the variety of classes they have here- hot yoga, dance, pilates, sculpt, circuit training, and cycling. There are also a variety of teachers and styles- so if you are looking for someone to kick your butt as you sweat to Cardi B or let your stress go in child's pose, I promise there is a teacher for you. Thank you to all the Staff at Sweat Studio, I feel so grateful to have found you! Also, just FYI the studio is sparkling clean:)

Great place, great people…read more I've trained at a lot of places over the years, and Ironworks has become one of my favorite gyms. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like family. The coaches genuinely care about helping you improve, whether you're stepping into a gym for the first time or training to compete. The atmosphere is encouraging, hardworking, and humble. People push each other to be better without the ego that can exist in some gyms. You can tell there's a culture of respect, discipline, and community. The equipment is well maintained, the facility is clean, and there are opportunities to train at every level. If you're interested in boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or simply getting stronger and healthier, Ironworks has knowledgeable coaches who are invested in your success. What stands out the most to me is the people. I've found teammates who encourage one another, coaches who genuinely invest in their students, and an environment that makes me excited to come back and train. If you're in the Grass Valley area and looking for a place to grow physically, mentally, and personally, I highly recommend giving Ironworks a try. It's more than a gym--it's a community.

A few annoyances is that the dumbbells go up by 10lbs once you get to 70 which doesn't make a lot of sense. People also literally leave weights on every machine, so expect that you'll be cleaning the previous persons weight off before using a machine. Plates are also all over the place and always unorganized. Outside of that, what you see is what you get.

Red flags!! Red flags!! Red flags!! "After a change of management"…read more My health professionals recommended I join a fitness program to overcome my PTSD, so my husband and I /working professionals/ 35+ years of age started this gym about 6 months back. I've noticed, that when others got in late for a session, they didn't join the class and worked out on their own, so the day I got in late I thought I could do the same and hurried in. I was minding my own business until I asked Cam (the trainer) a question.. and - that was it! He told me, you got in 30 min late so I won't help you which was understandable so I walked away to my corner, because I didn't want to disturb the class either. But then I saw him complaining about me to the Gym Owner "Susan" who then came up FURIOUSLY towards me and started YELLING, in the middle of the gym while the class was in progress - 'that I can't be walking in 30 min late and ask Cam (the trainer) questions ever again'.. and so on.. she went on schooling me for next 10 min and questioned me about things like - "where is my husband", why do I owe her any explanations about my personal life again? Did she want a confirmation that I was singled out so she could berate me further? I was put under so much stress and pressure by watching her monitor me so I couldn't put up the equipment right and there she started to insult me again- "You don't even know this much, you have been coming to the gym for so long you should know at least this by now... And so making further such personal attacks" No one treats their clients this way after I had already apologized to her and had requested that I can do it on my own, so please let me be. I'm still taken aback by this experience and this incident has taken a few days to process, for me to put it together, so I can share my experience with you, for you to know actually what happened with me. There is no place where one should be schooled like a child and with no dignity, especially if you are in the health industry. It's so disappointing to see an elderly woman over 60 years of age, shouldn't you be the one encouraging and not putting down a woman client? I'm confused, shouldn't you be the one acting a bit more professional being the owner? Couldn't you have taken me to the lobby to discuss this rather than create a big drama in the middle of a class and insult me? But I also learned by digging in deeper that this is a new management since Covid so the story kind of makes sense! She has created problems for us in the past about other issues as well - like before joining, she said dogs are welcome, but then later I was told by her to get special permissions from the trainer each time I want to bring my dog in the gym, and this is a SERVICE DOG for my PTSD we are talking about. Why are the clients here not treated with basic equality and basic dignity? She never tried to care or ask why I needed a dog to bring with me, but created problems so I had to avoid bringing my dog. The lady has to deal with her power trip issues and get educated about the basic mannerisms of being a gym owner. Hope, someday she'll know better and learn to maintain her cool! NO ONE is supposed to be treated this way, her actions were DEMEANING and VICIOUS towards me. I would encourage everyone who is facing this behavior to please speak up, stand up, and educate, and don't entertain this nonsense. My husband and I are people of color, and are proud to have been graduated from the Ivy League universities of Cornell and Yale respectively, and run several businesses and own properties around the world, and we have worked hard to achieve our dreams, especially in another country. I feel, the lady not acknowledging and being disrespectful towards us just shows her lack of exposure, experience, and immaturity. I'd not recommend this gym to anyone, especially to People Of Color, who are doing well for themselves, by working hard, away from their homes... I know their struggles and endeavors to thrive against all odds, do not allow discrimination, WATCH OUT for these ones!!!

I've been loving coming here! I love the community, the coaches, and the workouts are exactly what…read moreI was looking for.
