First and foremost, let me say that this used to be a place I came to for complete relaxation. Unfortunately, since Footopia has come under new ownership, it is absolutely not the same experience. I used to live in the area and still come back occasionally, and visiting Footopia was always something I looked forward to. I was always happy to see Amy, the previous owner. When my daughter and I arrived yesterday, I immediately asked for Amy and was told she was no longer there. We still decided to stay and booked two 60-minute foot combo massages. At first, things seemed fairly similar to how they used to be, but the actual service was one of the worst massages I have ever received. The gentleman performing my massage had little to no technique. The neck and back portion was already disappointing, but I kept thinking maybe it would improve. Once he moved to my feet, he repeatedly rubbed the exact same spot over and over to the point it became painful. I did not want to make a scene, especially with another customer nearby, so I stayed quiet and hoped it would get better. It never did. What made things worse was being asked to pay upfront, including the tip, which honestly made me feel stuck continuing through a painful and uncomfortable experience. Even now, the tops of my feet are sore from the repeated rubbing. To make matters more frustrating, the pricing has increased significantly and the service absolutely does not justify it. We paid $180 including tip for two "60-minute" combo massages and barely received about 45 minutes of actual service. My daughter described her massage as "okay," but nowhere near the quality we used to receive there. This is not the Footopia of the past. We will absolutely not be returning, and I would strongly recommend others in the area look elsewhere for massage services. read more

Save your money. Go somewhere else. I went to Footopia using a Groupon gifted to me and was deceived by the employees. The front desk associate tried to upsell to my massage from 50 minutes to 1 hour ($10 for 10 more minutes). This is understandable as this is a common sales tactic, no alarm there. I proceeded to say I only wanted what the Groupon offered. I was then told that my massage would be given in the "public room" despite my Groupon stating that it was supposed to be in a private room and provided with no explanation. The person who ended up giving me my massage stated that my massage was for 40 minutes (despite the services saying 50 minutes.) As a customer, I shouldn't have to remind my masseuse of the services I requested. Further, the masseuse simply put a towel on top of my clothing which makes absolutely no sense as the massage was advertised with using "therapeutic oils" which I would hope does not go on dry clothing. I ended up leaving after the less than 20 minute , half assed "body massage." Despite not even getting half of what the Groupon was worth, she then ran after me for a tip even though I left obviously upset and not wanting to cause a scene. The icing on the cake was the unprofessional text message I got from the business asking about what happened during the "massacre" (sounds about right) when a phone call would have been more acceptable and professional. The employees are extremely pushy which made it difficult to voice any concerns. How can you run a business with the main purpose being to help customers destress and relax to then make your customers feel uncomfortable and used? As a customer I shouldn't have to constantly remind employees of the services included in the literal title!!!!! The only explanation would be either incompetence or deceit on the part of the business and its employees. Do better. read more

I was picking a sandwich at the Deii next Door and I've been looking for a foot massage place so I was excited to see FOOTOPIA. , I stepped inside to grab a menu that was sitting on the window's shelf and the attendant at the front desk, an adult woman, looked up and look down her face was in a frown. And I thought, wow, okay, that was not very welcoming. It was my first time, and I was actually getting excited. But I won't be getting any service from this place. Why is it that businesses don't recognize that the very first person is the very first impression that some people take seriously and others may not care. But I do. First time here. I was told about it years ago, however was nervous on what to expect so I put off coming. I was given a gift card for $35, however it was five years old so I was told that I could not use it towards any service. I understand it's five years old, yet for first impression honoring it somehow would have gone a long way. I seriously was going to just give it back to the provider that did my massage. Strong hands that worked the kinks out. We felt great after. When you walk into the treatment area it's dimly lit so your eyes will need to adjust. What to expect: when you walk in, there is a room with a few white sheet cot/massage like spots. You take your shoes off, and place your items such as car keys into a plastic bin, and then lay on your stomach with your head facing the top on the massage table. Then the massage begins. The one we selected massages your shoulders, neck, arms, back, legs, and when they have you turn over they place your feet in warm water to then begin a massage on your feet. We enjoyed it so much, that I went back and bought a gift certificate for a surprise. And the surprise has already been used and he was super happy with his masseuse then too! Give it try! Got us in right away! No one was there, not surprised! I thought Paul was way too aggressive using his forearms and going to fast. I had to say, slow down a few times. Then at the end he tried to put me in a WWE hold above me head. I said Oh NO! He would be good if he just slowed down to massage and used his hands not arms. Way too intense! I have been going to Footopia for many years And this was the worst experience I've had management changed a little bit ago and this time when I went in my massage was subpar. My mother who went with me her massage was OK as well. Tried to tell the manager when she asked if you were satisfied and tried to explain to her why we weren't and she just continue to ignore me and just said when are you paying can you pay me! I made a payment left a tip asked her if I can talk to someone else she said no it's just me she was very rude kept on being very dismissive. Totally disappointed. I came here for a relaxing experience and based on the review, I thought I'd give it a try. During our visit, 2 masseuse was touching each other and giggling with each other inappropriately. I tried to relax and think positive about the experience but I couldn't get myself to. I left very disappointed because of my bad experience and with how unprofessional they were. And was told to lay face down. The little towel was wrapped around the wrong place so for the first part of the massage my face was smashed into the actual bed until I found the opening myself by feeling through the dark with my hand -The man who did my massage did not introduce himself. I'm fine with a man but there are probably people who are not -During the massage, there were three instances where my therapist whispered to someone near him or they whispered to him in a language I could not understand, once they quietly chuckled -No one asked what what medical conditions I had, areas to avoid, or things I wanted them to focus on -I know reflexology is not always the most comfortable but the "body" massage was rough and at some points felt hap-hazard (and I get deep tissue and Thai massages often so I'm used to "rough"). This was taking an elbow with deep pressure to my actual spine and karate chopping the back of my head. I'm sore today, not in a good way, but my-bones-hurt-kinda-way. It was advertised as a massage and pedicure place and I needed a pedicure. When I reached there was no one at the desk, no one to be seen or to talk to for 15 minutes. Place is clean. Almost bare-bones clear of everything. But for the price they charge for pedicure, the time spent and service given is ridiculous. Very few nail color choices. I was in and out in 45 minutes. Polish was a mess. The lady did not have proper tools to clean excess nail color on skin. And all this for a supposedly relaxing)35 herbal pedicure!! Don't know what was herbal about it.
