The downtown beachfront promenade in Avila Beach sports a small, but mighty array of businesses with merchandise geared to beach-goers. Flip flops, t-shirts, straw hats, and easy cover ups are heavily featured. Footseas fits in to that vibe, and takes it up a notch. The exterior walls of the shop set a seafaring tone with painted murals. Window displays feature some of their favored items, like hats, which drew me in. I didn't end up finding a new hat to love, but I did enjoy browsing all the color-themed racks of ladies' clothes. The store goes back much deeper than i expected, so there was a lot to see. I ended up selecting an adorable mermaid tee for our granddaughter, plus a fun top for myself, and a printed scarf. Visually, the displays offered a pleasing palette of visual treats. A new sales associate was undergoing training, so I got double attention at check out time. Deducting one star as there were several other items I liked, but my size was sold out. This place has so much to offer and the service is fantastic. No matter who's working they're always so helpful. I tried on a couple of things today unfortunately didn't work for me. But my girlfriend bought a couple of things off the sale rack so that was good. They have dresses and sweaters, flip-flops things for young children, purses, just about anything you could want. Wow, I came to post about my experience in this store only to find I wasn't alone! Don't shop here! We were visiting from out of town and went in to browse. We weren't greeted at all but the Caucasians behind us received a cheerful welcome. Then, my friend's husband was followed throughout the store by the girl working. Super rude. We were just a family exploring somewhere new and searching for some souvenirs to take home from our trip. Instead, we left with a poor opinion of Avila Beach and a bad memory. Perfect little beach front store. The girl behind the counter on Tuesday morning was great! She was very helpful to us and everyone else, when the store got a little busier she never lost her focus and attended to all of us. I found a great starfish ornament to remember my Christmas beach vacation. They had a few tops up to 3x and I found a very nice blouse. Larger sizes are usually non existent in shops like this. I was very happy with my shopping experience. I wish I would have bought the black blouse too. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! This place made my family and I very uncomfortable. My uncle was looking around because we were there for his birthday celebration. When we went into the story they looked at us mainly my uncle . One of the store associates decided to follow him around without even making it discrete. When he was looking at sunglasses or clothes and move to a different part of the store she looked at what we were looking at and made sure there was the same amount of clothes. We were NOT greeted when coming in. But when a Caucasian couple went in they got the nicest greeting in the room. Would not recommend to anyone. I would give zero stars!!! read more

Cute store! Great selection of flip flops. They carry just about every famous line of flip flops, from Reef, Rainbow, Fitflop. Etc. They also have purses, bags, hats, and beach wear, stuff with Avila Beach logos and so forth. I found a pair of flip flops for 50% off. Nice girls working, too. read more

I have mixed feelings for this store. My family and I often vacation at Avila Beach and have typically been greeted in a friendly manner at Footseas. They have cute clothes, shoes, and jewelry. HOWEVER, last week one employee was so insanely rude to my sister the moment we walked through the door, I had to write a review. (In the woman's defense, there is a sign outside of the door stating there is no food or beverages allowed in the store.) Obviously we didn't see the sign, or else we wouldn't have walked in. Seeing as this is a beach town, and that other stores didn't mind us browsing with our cups of ice cream in hand, we didn't really think twice before entering. The very dark haired woman who was working when we walked in shouted very rudely from across the store, "Um, yeah you're gonna need to go back outside with that ice cream" causing everyone in the store to pause and stare at us. My sister politely said, "Yeah, that won't be a problem, but you could've asked in a nicer way." There was absolutely no need for this woman to be so rude. We weren't even 4 steps into the store yet, and we all just turned around and left feeling embarrassed and humiliated by this employee. Too bad because we were returning to buy some stuff we had seen from earlier that day... decided against giving them our business and visited a different store nearby. Stopped by with my two sisters when visiting Avila Beach in October. Millie was FANTASTIC!! I fell in love with a jacket that was on display and she showed it to me, let me try it on, of course, but alas, it was too small. She said they would try to get in touch with the manufacturer and see if they could order more. AND THEY DID. They contacted me and soon, I hope to be the proud owner of a dynamite new jacket!! I was excited to see what this store had to offer. Loved the merchandise but was turned completely off by the customer service. Visited this store on 7/3/18 at 4:30pm and couldn't get any help. Asked about a backpack I was interested in but was not fond of the color. When I asked if they had different colors in the bag I was told no and was made to feel like I was bothering her. The staff seemed more interested in complaining about the overstock of sandals instead of assisting me. As I walked out I noticed a backpack, the one I was interested in but in a DIFFERENT COLOR that I really liked. My daughter was so excited to go in there and kept saying how cute it looked and that " we have to go there!"We are here on vacation and came over to Avila for a girls shopping get away. My daughter who is the sweetest, kindest girl... straight A student, editor and chief of her school newspaper and active member of her Christian club on campus and who has never been in trouble in her life... was treated by the lady behind the counter as though she was going to steal the earrings she was looking at. The woman took the earrings from her and told her she would hold them until she was ready to buy. Horrible customer service and we will NEVER go back. It's really too bad because we were about to buy a couple of really cute sweaters, pants and earrings. There's no way after that experience that we will ever spend a dime there. I'm so upset because she ruined what was a lovely day for us! I hope that wasn't the owner! If the owner reads this... it was about 2pm on Feb. 17th.
