During my little vacation I was exploring all these cute little boutiques but had the most fun at lulu luxe. I mean, just the name makes you want to go inside! The store has some designer brands and some no-name brands. I was greeted by the employees who really helped me out with the shoe sale. I got 2 pairs of heels for $20 each and they're still in excellent condition and are really comfy. I then walk over to this little table where I find clearance sale Rich n Skinnys! Everyone knows normally these jeans go for $200+. I got my new Rich n Skinnys for $60. OH YEAH :) This boutique definitely has a lot of cute styles from shoes to shirts. There are some shirts where I thought the material wasn't nice but for the most part, very cute clothing, and nice employees. read more

My daughter was accepted into Cal Poly. We are an out of state family. She purchased a dress that didn't fit her properly. We came back to the store with the receipt and all tags attached to the dress hoping they would at least give her a credit. Since we purchased the dress a while ago when we were last in SLO, I thought they would make an exception because we are from out of state. To our surprise, an older woman who works there said, she didn't have any place for the dress and couldn't help us. Interestingly as we were walking out, there was a pile of dresses hanging almost the same style and color of the one my daughter was returning, perhaps a small variation to the print but almost identical: red and white! I worked retail many years ago and always treasured the businesses that have a vision and are willing to go the extra mile for their customers. This lady could have sold the dress right away if she wanted. The dress is untouched. Instead she lost me as a client. Sometimes that is the fine line that makes the difference between a real business minded, customer oriented person and one that let future forever customers walk away. AND trust me, I am a shopper and will be coming back to SLO for the next four years while my daughter is there. I will support other locally owned boutiques but not this one. The dress is $70, pretty much nothing in comparison to what her long term gain would have been. Oh well...Thank you, next! read more

I walked into Lulu Luxe a few weeks ago and was greeted by some very sweet employees... and that was the only good part of this entire disaster. As I kept walking through the store, this grumpy, miserable older woman storms up to me and practically throws a pile of clothes into my arms like I was her personal coat rack. I wasn't even in the mood to try anything on, and she acted like it was a requirement to shop there. Then it gets worse. She starts inspecting me like TSA, telling me I need to "size up" because she "doesn't want the clothes to rip." Excuse me??? I've never had someone be so unnecessarily rude while trying to make a sale. It was unprofessional, embarrassing, and honestly just gross behavior. The vibes in the store were awful. The other employees looked petrified, like they were afraid to breathe too loud around her. And honestly? I can see why. I couldn't believe I was being judged by someone of her age. The clothes themselves? Mediocre at best and insanely overpriced. Nothing special, nothing worth dealing with that kind of attitude. I never write bad reviews, but people deserve to know what they're walking into. If you enjoy being disrespected, stared down, and handed clothes like you're a mannequin, then by all means--this is your place. For everyone else: 10/10 DO NOT recommend. Decided to enter LuLu Luxe while walking around downtown SLO. My plan was to find an outfit for the Taylor Swift concert and looking inside the store, seemed like my chances were high! They offer a variety of sizes and all the clothes were so so pretty. I found myself a beautiful long white summery dress which I got complimented on by almost all the staff! They were very accomodating and even understanding when I showed them my Yelp check in offer which was 10% off my order and gave me a bracelet with a discounted price :) Definitely will come by again because of their great hospitality! read more

I've been accused of stealing from this store twice within a 3 year span. I was giving this shop another shot and again accused of stealing. This is ridiculous. I walk in the store looking for an outfit to go to the clubs in and I picked 4 tops out and they got a fitting room started for me. ***I had my friend go in the fitting room with me because I'm not comfortable showing the other customers on the couch what they think including my friend.*** I needed a bigger size. She got me a bigger size and it fit. I got to the check out there's a man and his dog behind the counter talking to the girl or whatever while I was purchasing my 2 tops with earrings. As I'm walking out the sensor went off. I went back confused and to double check if all the sensors were off. He made a comment of me putting something in my very small bag. I was like ummm no. What the fuck am I supposed to fit in this! Or my friends man bag! That's literally the same size. Video below But we continue shopping throughout slo and we see the man and his dog again walking and he stops us and he's like "be honest did you steal something?" We're just like "no dude!" An he was added that "it never does that and that's a little suspicious". We just continued walking. Ruined the rest of my day. Not shopping here again. I'm sure it's based on a reason. Very poor quality clothing for the price. Bought a shirt on Sunday for a concert out of town the next Friday, tried it on again on Wednesday and a $50 shirt ripped at the seems. Took the shirt back that day and the lady said her boss is not there and would have to look at it to see if it can be fixed. she did not try to call her boss Or offer any solution. Only thing to do was spend more money on another shirt for the concert. Which we will not be buying from there. My son and daughter went in and we're very respectful, and when there was no offer to help them out before leaving to go out of town, my son said, "my mom will be leaving a bad review." I don't usually write reviews, but this place has the rudest employees ever. My daughter has never had an experience like this in a store. The woman (i'm assuming the owner) practically shoved her way into the dressing room when my daughter was finished and questioned why she didn't like the dresses. My daughter explained that she actually liked them but didn't even have time to grab any when walking out. My daughter then asked if there was any chance they could put a dress on hold and if not she was willing to come back anyways. The woman looked her up and down and angrily questioned her. She then continued to stand over my daughter in the store and give her dirty looks. Was a cute store and would have spent my money here but when the employees are this rude it's impossible to want to do business there. LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! I have been to LuLu Lux many times, I drive from Bakersfield to SLO just to go shopping here! I'm OBSESSED with this store. I always find multiple things that I love. The quality is amazing and I think the price point matches the quality. I found 2 pairs of heels and 3 beautiful dresses for my nursing graduation and related events. I'm sooo excited to wear them for my special day that I've worked so hard for. I even called the next day to order another pair of shoes, after I came back home to Bakersfield. I was still thinking about buying them and then I decided that I loved them too much to pass up and they shipped it here in 2 days! The employees are the sweetest girls ever!! I have worked in customer service for several years and a family-owned jewelry boutique for 4 years, so I always appreciate good customer service. I wish I would have got the names of the girls helping me. I was there on 2/9/22, later in the afternoon, so maybe that can help give the girls the credit for being so helpful. They immediately made me feel welcomed and willing to help. I let one girl know what I was looking for and she picked a few dresses out for me. I never thought the style of dresses she picked would look good on me, and it ended up being my favorite dress! The girls are so stylish, fun and cute, and I could tell the girls were genuine. I love getting feedback while I'm trying something on and having someone help me choose which option is better. It feels like you're shopping with your best friends with the employees there. I went to a few other stores in the area and everywhere else I went the customer service was poor. Also I LOVE the music that was on. There is nothing better than clothes shopping and listening to throwbacks like Fergie and Gwen Stefani! My favorite place to shop, and I'm never disappointed! (Actual Rating: 2.5-3 stars.) Stopped in after seeing a few boots in the display window. I was a little confused because they have most of their boots in the back of the store, so I had to ask an associate for help when I didn't see the ones I was eyeing from the front window. After I tried the boots on, I the looked at the price and they were marked $179, oh but with 20% off for and just today only. Usually price doesn't matter to me especially if I really, really love the item but I had to tell myself, absolutely no with this one. My reasons for giving the store 2-2.5 stars: Customer service was meh. Yes, my hair is up in a messy bun, I'm wearing workout clothes with no face on- compared to the other girls if I was a worker on commission, I probably wouldn't help me either. I get it-that's all good. Selection was just, OK. 2 stores down you'll find a Ross and/or Express with pieces similar with probably half the price off, if not more. The lighting in the store is overall dark so it makes it hard to actually see what your buying. Lastly, the organization of the entire store could use some work. The store is very cluttered and I like shopping in clean and organized stores...being able to see what I'm buying and shopping without the headache. Ain't nobody got time go' that. I was just accused of stealing clothes from this store, I walked in this store to shop after shopping at Victoria's Secret. I was there maybe 3 minutes looking around and did not find anything I wanted to buy, as I was leaving for some reason the sensor went off as I walked out the door. I continued walking but the store clerk came out and said I needed to return to the store, I went back confused as I had just walked in and left because I didn't see anything I like. Th clerk proceeded to grab my bag and go through all my panties and Bras from Victoria's Secret that I just purchased and of course there were no sensors left on or stolen items from this store. I left so embarrassed and violated that someone looked through and touched my panties and bras in a public place in front of other customers. I was so upset I went back and asked to talk to the manager, she pretty much laughed in my face and acted like it was perfectly normal procedure and said if you don't like it don't shop here. I Will absolutely never set foot in this store and I will definitely go beyond Yelp to let people know about my experience, I am a SLO local and business woman and to be accused of stealing and to also get violated in public is not ok! read more

This has always been my absolute favorite boutique in all of SLO, and there's quite a few! The owner of the store Galit is so kind and always very helpful. They are also very honest and not pushy when they can tell you do not like something, which I appreciate. I am a frequent shopper at both Lulu Luxe, and sister store Lucky Lulu's. Do I come here for the customer service? No. But, they always have a wide variety of super cute stuff so I put up with the "trust-fund Poly girls" (as I call them). This last time was unbelievable though. A girl helped me while I was trying on boots. I tried on three pairs and wasn't impressed with any of them. I could tell she had her commission check in mind as she pushed me to buy a pair. I wasn't in love! So I said I was going to wait on it. Then she responds, "you know.. There's cheaper stuff down the street." EXCUSE ME? Holy crap! What did you just say to me? My friends and I made a road trip down here to ride ATVs in Pismo Beach. On a Sunday we were going to visit Hearst Castle, but we decided to spend the day shopping downtown instead! Lulu Luxe was our first stop and it turned out to be our favorite. I didn't buy anything the first time around, but when I came back around the 2nd time, I picked up two cardigans on sale for $15 and $22. I also liked a floral shirt in the window, but couldn't find it on the floor. The sales associate said it was their last one and she offered to remove it from the manikin. I really liked it! I've been shopping here for as long as I could remember. I absolutely love this store! Going downtown SLO sometimes can be a drag for shopping. Between the parking and all the stores. I'll be honest not to big on spending the day "browsing". I like to get right to business get what I need and get out. Today I had probably the best experience I've had in this store. I needed a quick & cute top to wear for my sons birthday. One of the associates "Maddee" (I believe her name was) walked right over to me and asked if I needed help, she then started getting things in my size and helping me find the perfect top for today. She was SO HELPFUL and honestly made me feel like a million bucks. If you are ever looking for a place to grab some cute clothing this is your spot.
