At that time when she started, she was 4.5 months old. I was scared at first due to COVID, but quickly noticed that they were taking great precautions. I felt safe knowing she was in good hands. Since January, I am truly impressed with the outstanding care she is receiving from Miss Lorie and Miss Angela. The teachers keep me up to date with how she is doing developmentally all the time. I introduced the sippy cup recently, and the teachers were very happy to continue to help her practice using it while at school. They figured out a nap and feeding schedule that I can adhere to on the weekends. Everyone has been very responsive to my questions, and get back to me in a timely manner. My daughter comes home clean every day. I am very impressed that everyone knows my husband and I by name. I see how everyone interacts with my daughter and it warms my heart. I feel comfortable leaving her here knowing she is going to be well cared for. Not to mention, they still do a lot of activities with families after school despite COVID. Right near Valentines's Day, they had a Sweetheart Dance that we attended on Zoom. It was so nice to see families dancing, singing, and listening to stories. Our family moved from Atlanta to Providence last summer, and both of our kids (2 and 4 year old boys when we started) started at Meeting Street ~9/2025 . It was a year with a lot of transition, and our oldest son in particular had a challenging year behaviorally. What impressed us most about Meeting Street was how consistently the teachers and staff responded with patience, creativity, and a genuine commitment to figuring out how to help him succeed. When our son was struggling, his teachers and the school coordinator worked with us to develop strategies, adapt the classroom environment, find ways to keep him engaged, and connect us with additional resources when we needed them. They consistently looked past the difficult behavior to see the smart, curious, energetic kid underneath it. By the end of the year, he is genuinely ready for kindergarten, and we feel much better equipped as parents because of what we learned from his teachers. Our experience with our 2-year-old's teachers has been equally wonderful. His teachers were extraordinarily calm and patient despite managing a classroom full of very young children at completely different stages of development. They put tremendous thought into their teaching, creating fun theme weeks and art projects while letting the kids' interests and curiosity guide their learning. They also worked closely with us through the entire potty-training process. Somehow, while caring for a room full of 1 1/2- to 3-year-olds at all different stages of diapering and potty training, they helped our son go from diapers to being fully day-trained by age three. He is heading into preschool well prepared, happy, and confident. One of the things we value most about Meeting Street is how genuinely inclusive the school is. I believe one of the most important things children can learn is that differences are normal and beneficial, that everyone belongs, and that our environments should be designed to work for all kinds of people. The teachers here are unusually well equipped to care for and teach children with different needs, personalities, developmental stages, and ways of learning, which I really think benefits all of the kids. Another thing that really stands out is how many people seem to know and care about your children, even when they aren't their primary teachers. The receptionist greets the kids every morning with "Good morning, chicken nuggets!" and somehow always has a sticker or little toy ready for them. Teachers from neighboring classrooms know the kids, help with difficult drop-offs, and jump in wherever they're needed. There is a real sense that the entire school is invested in the children. The staff themselves are warm, funny, patient, knowledgeable, and clearly care deeply about what they do. We have had so many conversations with teachers and administrators that helped us understand our kids better and become better parents. We are leaving Meeting Street because our kids are moving on to a local public kindergarten and a preschool around the corner from it (an hour of bridge traffic each day was the only downside to this school for us!), but we are genuinely sad to leave. We feel incredibly lucky that our kids spent this important year surrounded by people who cared so much about them and who helped them become ready for their next steps. If you're considering Meeting Street, I would highly recommend it. Our kids have been loved, challenged, supported, and included here. I was concerned when I first considered different childcare options that my very high energy, very…read morephysical preschooler would somehow not have his needs met at a school that is designed to meet the needs of those with special needs. Growing up in Rhode Island, I always thought of Meeting Street as a school for those with disabilities, but I didn't realize it was SO SO SO much more than that - it's a wonderful place for all children. From my very first meeting with the director, Miss Ange, I was very impressed - she addressed my concerns perfectly by saying they were used to addressing children as individuals and finding ways to meet their educational and emotional and physical needs. So if my child has a "high energy quota" (as she put it so wonderfully), they'll find ways to meet that proactively as an educational obstacle rather than try to force him to fit a certain mold (sit and listen) or punish his energy just as a behavioral problem. And they've met that every step of the way. They've got a wonderful playground that they use frequently, they have lots of physical activity including gym class (which is accessible to even his classmates with physical limitations), and they have an indoor sensory gym that allows for him to get his wiggles out even on rainy days. He's quickly learned that his energy isn't a bad thing, but how to channel it into the right directions so that he can be a good friend and classmate, and a good listener and nice student. His preschool teacher, Miss Abbi, has amazing energy and has managed to make great progress in his listening and socialization skills in the month he's been in class. He is now much more independent in putting his clothes and shoes on himself, he sits for quiet time when instructed to do so, he eats more foods than he did before starting school, and he's much better at interacting with other kids - asking to take turns, including others. I've also loved the app they use - it makes it easier to know when they've been checked in and out if someone other than me is doing it that day, and they send notes and photo updates throughout the day so both their Dad and I can see what they're up to at school. I fully believe my children (I also have a toddler who is also doing wonderfully) are better for being in such a loving environment where each child is an individual and loved for who they are, for having friends who may be different from them. It's a wonderful place, and I'd pick it every single time over and over as the childcare option for my kids. Every single day, my kids beg to go to school and hold hands and run into their classrooms with smiles and not a backwards glance at me. That's the best reward, knowing they love being there every day.

We feel fortunate to have a place to bring our kids where they are safe and have fun. Teachers come and go, which can be frustrating, but it is somewhat expected in this industry, and we have always felt that the various teachers truly cared about our children. There was a period of high turnover where the director and assistant director left that we considered going elsewhere, but by the time we could get in anywhere, things settled down and the school got a new director. Since Jason has been at the helm, the school has never looked better and we have seen lots of improvements. We feel confident about the school under his leadership. The only other drawback about this school is the co$$$t, but it sure is nice not to have to pack a lunch or snacks which are included. I am always impressed with the arts and crafts done in the toddler rooms and also appreciate how often the children get out in the fresh air when possible. The only solice we had after learning what was really going on at the daycare was our child being in Miss Alicia's classroom. Miss Alicia and Miss Michelle genuinely care about the kids in their room, provide structure and safety (yes safety) for their kiddos and any additional ones they can take in their room when able to. Knowing that the Regional Director was well informed about what was and had happened at this location and felt it was okay and appropriate to argue with parents and teachers about what was happening at the school has made us lose faith with all Cadence schools.

We have been with Cadence Academy back when it was known as The Children's Workshop and have been with the Cranston location since 2016. As a single parent, child care - reliable childcare- is a huge component to making things work. Cadence Academy - Cranston is part of my village helping me raise my kids. The staff are extended family who love and support my two kids as such. The classrooms are super clean, bright, fun, really well decorated, safe, and well balanced when it comes to student-teacher ratio. They provide yummy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to the kids (even vegetarian options) included in the cost of tuition. Summer camp is very fun and pre-covid lots of entertainment was provided for the kids such as Kona ice on Fridays, Kid Bus, and friends from the zoo coming to teach the kids about animals. Daycare during covid was initially scary but there is no other place I trust to not only watch my kids while I work, but assist with distance learning than the staff at Cadence. As a response to Cranston's learning model this year, Cadence opened a beautiful classroom allowing for virtual learning. Each classroom has a "pod" system so if one person is exposed to Covid, that pod is closed down as opposed to the whole building. My second grader follows the hybrid schedule which means he goes to in-person school two days a week and three days at cadence. His grades haven't been significantly affected by this schedule and his IEP is supported by the staff. Overall, I would highly welcome those who are searching for quality, professional, friendly, reliable, and overall safe childcare to look into the Cranston location. Not only are the Director and staff great, the parents and children are also a pleasure. It's always a plus when parent-teacher communication is open and they appreciate and welcome any feedback from the parents. Any time there have been issues during the day with my child, or I have had any concerns, I received updates from the school and was able to call or email the school and would receive a prompt response. In addition, their curriculum from pre-school age up to school-age is phenomenal! For school age, they separate the kids that have homework and it gives the kids time to do their homework so that you don't have to go crazy when you go home! During the year they hold parent nights where the children can hang out and the parents can do their own thing for a few hours, and also invite parents in for celebrations as well! During the summers the program packs it with so many activities from visiting local pools and beaches to going to museums and parks! The Children's Workshop really keeps my mind and heart at ease while I am at work and they're almost always open!

My daughter has been at Twin Oaks since she was six months old, and now at three, she still looks forward to going every day.
