My son attended Way to Grow for one year, beginning in August of 2021. What we like most about…read morethis daycare is that the staff and atmosphere are friendly and there is strong communication. Whereas in many places parents are not allowed to enter the building, we were invited to come in, talk, and even sit and play with the kids for a bit at pickup. There was nothing to hide, which is important for building trust. Our 2-year-old (at the time) had a difficult transition. He would cry and scream at drop-offs for 2 months straight. We were called in for a behavioral meeting in the beginning as well, which helped all parties understand the situation better. Sometimes they would call me to let me know what was happening, or I would call and check. After the transition period, he adjusted quite well and became a star student. He enjoyed spending time with the small group of friends and his teachers. As parents, we liked getting picture updates by text or Facebook every once in a while. The teacher would let us know how the day went when we picked him up. There were arts and crafts projects and the teachers tried to find activities that interested individual kids as well (in my son's case, electronics and lights). They even worked with us regarding medical issues that came up. In many cases, they knew more about his ailments than the clueless doctors. The less-than-ideal factors were that within 1 year, his main teacher changed 3 times. This was hard for him. However, each one was wonderful. Food was not included in tuition at that time, which means the extra stress of packing snacks and lunch in the morning. At some points, there was overcommunication, like several emails within a week. Ultimately, this is better than being under-informed. We highly recommend this daycare. Every family is different but it was a great fit for us.

The school does have a number of rules and is very structured, which can be offputting at times, but trust that there is a reason for everything that is done at this school. I have seen my son learn to count, add and subtract, recognize and write letters. I've noticed his artwork become more colorful and his creativity soar. The school is more expensive than some others and with this year's winter weather, it was closed more than we would have liked. Alas, you can't put a price on a good quality education and we are proud of the thoughtful boy that we have thriving at BFP.

From the cleanliness to the way the place is run and managed, they are absolutely awesome. My biggest fear when accepting a new position was losing my daycare and I was able to find a way to keep it. The staff is wonderful, and they always try to help us as much as they can. My son has been in every single one of the rooms and has been able to experience learning a new language while being there as well. It's a place I honestly have to say has welcomed me and my child with open arms as if we were part of their family as well. I provide childcare for multiple families that have a membership at one of the branches, and it makes me extremely happy to hear how much they love the Y! Each branch is different, but also the same. They are different with what the location provides, but they are the same because of the atmosphere! The employees are friendly and so are the other members. If you want a happy, positive environment, the Y is where you should be!
