For our wedding, we used SBD's DJ service, lighting, and photo booth, and each service made for an impeccable night. The lighting was perfectly placed to showcase the cream city brick in The Pritzlaff. The photo booth was a hit with everyone--young and old. We got to take a photo booth album home with us the very same night, complete with notes from guests, which allowed us to capture some of the funny/sweet moments that happened after the photographer left for the night. Our DJ, Nathan Moore, was so on top of every last detail both in our meetings and emails leading up to the event and in coordinating the logistics on the day of. He really listened to and understand our taste in music and played all of the songs we wanted to hear, while also paying attention to the crowd at the moment when discerning which song to play. We both highly recommend Sound By Design for any event that requires any of the services they provide. The entire team is professional yet approachable, responsive in communication, and does everything they can to make sure the night is absolutely perfect for the bride and groom. We had to wait more than four weeks to get an appointment at a time that worked for our work schedules, though Dylan was very friendly and personable. He asked questions that were more than just the surface queries about music styles and the venue, and we enjoyed the meeting. Having met with other DJs previously, Sound By Design came in a bit higher than the other quotes, but we really liked the overall vibe. We asked if they could match the price of our other leading vendor and received no reply. At all. I fully expected to hear that they don't negotiate their prices insert generic policy language here, I did not expect to be ghosted by the company like a bad Tinder date. For argument's sake, let's say that the interwebs failed and they did not receive the email in which we inquired about negotiating on the price. In that scenario, wouldn't Dylan have reached out after not hearing from us? His line of questioning had us with the impression that the personal connection was important to Sound By Design, but I fear that is just lip service. In the end I went two stars since their lack of answer made a potentially difficult choice that much easier.

Candy was our lead from Chef Jack's, and she was incredible, coming out often to check on us and the flow of the room overall. They were incredibly accommodating to any and all allergies and dietary restrictions that we had with our guests, and not a single person was unable to be fed, and for two of my guests who had been to weddings where they were unable to eat, this was important to me. My fiancé and I are currently planning our December 2024 Wedding. Prior to meeting with them I had…read moreattended a Wedding expo which I was helped by Olivia. She was extremely welcoming and nice. I had asked a really close friend about her experience in working with them in 2019. She gave her honest opinion and said she wouldn't recommend them because they made her day more stressful and dropped the ball. However, because her wedding was during Covid I gave Ambrosia grace and wanted my own perception. I met with them accompanied by my sister, which was at first glance appear to be great. I worked with Olivia in planning and creating the vision I had. We were presented with a quote that was $39,000 which was basic decor and mainly the expense of draping and few other items. We would be spending more on decor vs the food portion. We had read over the contract and in it stated that upon signage the contract is null without payment. My fiance and I thought hard on what we can afford total for our wedding and $39,000 for decor/floral was absolutely to much. So our plan was to decrease. Oscar gave us a hard time and said we can't change anything and was firm on saying, if you don't proceed with the contract we would be reported to creditors to sue us and reflect our credit. The way he said this was alarming. My fiancé asked since no money has been paid can we pay out of the contract. Oscar at the time said that is no such thing as paying to get out of a contract. During this conversation via zoom he insulted our intellegian e was rude and extremely disruptive until I read him his own contract and then he began to work with us. Keep in mind this was well over 200 days from our wedding so at any other company walking away would be no issue. So his resolution was to create an addendum and that was us removing items but we would have to pay $6000 within 24 hours. Again another red flag as he was looking for some form of payment to consider the changes. Our aunt wanted to gift us floral, so she paid the $6000 for us. The floral portion of the contract is only estimating $4500. Fast forward we are paying of several things for our wedding and we were hit with a harsh reality of a life changing event which changed the course of our wedding at its entirety. We reached out to every vendor we have been working with and every vendor has been a blessing except Ambrosia. We reach out to them immediately after this event and asked if we can cancel the contract and pay a cancelation fee and if they would be willing to grant us the floral. I met with Oscar and my wedding planner and we were both blown by his response. We had a balance of $18,000 and he said if we cancel we'd be responsible for the $39,000 contract and he would write we could receive the contract, or we could find them a client to replace the lose, or we had to commit to using them for a different event within 6 months. All these were not great options and he was only looking at things from the business prospective and not the fact that we still wanted to make our day happen in some sort and pay a fee. I sent an email with our decision and ask for a written agreement within 24 hours. Oscar said in order to cancel we had to pay $11,000 ASAP to cancel and then we could receive our floral. This was not what he said on the zoom. I stated if we can pay $11,000 we mines we'll pay off the contract and receive everything. Oscar lacks people skills and compassion for people. He is in the line of business where people are making vows and want their special day to be perfect. He will ruin the experience for any couple or corporation because his focus is silly himself and not those he service. I would encourage anyone scouting for venues to look past them unless you have $200,000 sitting to waste to pay in full. I generally can take a L but this is our special day which has been ruined because we are not getting what we paid for with the expectation of paying them an outrageous amount to even cancel and receive what's paid for. I pray that no one has to go through what not only my friend but I experienced.

We used Ambrosia Events for our October 9th 2021 wedding for a number of our rentals.  It almost…read moretook my breath away the first time I walked into the ballroom and saw how beautifuly it had been transformered.  A big piece of that was thanks to Oscar and Ambrosia   The rentals we used turned an already beautiful ballroom into a stunning masterpiece. Oscar's insight and advice was invaluable and resulted in our wedding being absolutely beautiful. Somehow he was able to understand and pull together my many thoughts and visions into offering suggestions that worked perfectly to match what we were trying to do. I also appreciated his great follow thru and communication with us.   We rented chiavari chairs, chargers, up lights, pin spot lights, draping, and an aisle runner. Planning a wedding during covid or non-covid can be very stressful because it is a lot of pieces to manage not to mention so many things u don't know u don't know.. We ended up finding Ambrosia later in our wedding planning. We wished after working with them, we had met them  earlier as  we may have used them for full planning services as well. They would have made our life so much easier.  Ambrosia offers rentals but also full wedding planning services. And given what a great job Oscar and his team did I can only imagine what an amazing job they would do if they planned your full event.  As we were planning our rentals I got to see images of designs of other events they did, Oscar is an artistic genius and designs r not cookie cutter.  Nothing but a positive experience with Ambrosia Events, would highly recommend fir wedding rentals and/or event planning!!

Craig had a great read of the room. I made a request during dancing and within seconds Craig was able to create a mash-up. Throughout the night they checked in with me and wanted to ensure that all songs I wanted to hear were played. Weeks before the wedding, we meet virtually two different times to go over my vision, finalize the reception timeline, and announcements to make. I first saw All-Star Music at a wedding I went to and now one of my bridesmaids booked him for her wedding!

He was an adorable emcee, very enthusiastic and great with keeping us on track. He actually started earlier than we requested when the ceremony turned out to be shorter than expected. And once it was time to boogie, he kept the dance floor packed for four solid hours. He never went for the cliche, current pop sensation of the moment, he picked a lot of classics that had everyone on their feet. And he continued to check in with me, even making sure that one slightly inappropriate song request was okay with me. We had people dancing all the way up until the very last song. But once we really took a look at the photos, we realized we got very little of what we wanted. Before the event, Chris seemed meticulous. He met with us twice and asked detailed questions about our family trees, and we explained who the really super important guests were, aka the guests we wanted lots of photos with. Looking back at the pics, it seems like Chris either didn't hear the majority of our requests, or he heard them and was just too overwhelmed to handle them. During our meetings he stressed a few really important photos, like one with the groom's parents and the bride and groom, one with the bride's parents, photos of the elderly relatives whose presence at the event we'd want to cherish...also his personal favorite of the bridesmaids all looking one way and the bride, in focus, looking at the camera. Somehow, Chris failed at delivering those photos at a high quality - the ones he was passionate about. Most of them are unusable. Chris is definitely a nice guy, but his work quality wasn't what we were expecting, especially for a wedding that was essentially all in one building (no frantic driving across town, searching for parking, etc.). If you are looking for someone to shoot a very, very low key event or a wedding without many moving parts or complications, working with him will probably work. Anything higher stress than that I would recommend working with someone else.

This is a great theatre in our town. Their calendar each year brings in national acts all year…read morelong. A intimate setting, to be sure. The acoustics are suited for the performance venue, and this facility plays host to many local organizations. A theatre group, the Hartford Players, the Hartford City Band, and the Hartford Community Chorus. The Ruth A Knoll theatre is a fantastic place to take in a show on the weekend. Pike's peak plays host to local art n showcase as well as a banquet hall that is available for events and weddings. Good friends of ours were married here. I was truly impressed. A great venue for a wedding and easily transferred the event upstairs for the reception. To summarize, the theater is top notch, the shows are nationally recognized acts, and for the value, this is a great venue.

Last night I attended Broadway Rox at The Schauer Center with some friends. What a great show!…read more It's amazing to see that level of talent in little Hartford, WI. The performers sang songs from many of the top broadway shows from over the last 20 or 30 years. Most of them were from very recent shows like Wicked, American Idiot, and Rent. I have attended other music and theatre performances at The Schauer Center and have always been impressed with the quality talent that they bring in. Other favorites were Late Night Catechism, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Chapter 6 an a cappella singing group. The facility itself is really cool. They did such a nice job turing an old building into an arts center, while preserving the history and look of the building. One of my best friends had their wedding reception at The Schauer Center and we all had a great time. It's such a cool building to have a wedding in.
