Probably the best coffee shop in Medford. Could be improved if they also had a treehouse section of their coffee shop, where you could climb a rope ladder to the top with your hot coffee. I would really like to be able to tell you that this is a great shop. Local owner, small business, etc. I saw how the owner was trying to say he didn't understand about people complaining of no masks. They weren't that kind of establishment and of course they took public safety seriously. With the owner making those statements we went to try and support the local shop. Walked in and literally none of the employees were wearing any type of face covering. Plastic shield on glasses that do nothing? Nope. Literally nothing. Open faces via 2019 again. I'm not just talking about one employee but every single one. All 3 behind thecounter and everyone in the kitchen that we could see. We turned around and left without ordering anything this time. We've been in the past twice and it was nothing special. Coffee and a breakfast if it was convenient would be all this place was good for but it left nothing to be sought after. You would not be having cravings for anything from Forage just because you have been before. Mediocracy paired with flaunting public safety laws makes it very easy to avoid. I got on yelp and this popped up, I thought the shop looked really cute but honestly what intrigued me the most were the AMAZING responses to the whiny yelp reviews. I needed to go and I *think* the person responsible for the responses I loved so much helped me so that was extra exciting for me. I live in seattle so the coffee doesn't suck here but I can honestly say it was the best latte I've ever had. The shop was so cute, clean and had great little items to shop while you wait. This is a great little coffee shop, except the staff doesn't wear masks. They are clearly making a statement- there isn't a sign on the door or anywhere that they are in compliance with the mandate. I have always loved this coffee shop. But in my latest visit I experienced a very wierd phenomena. I was going about my business and started to notice smiles being directed at me from female patrons in the shop. Very innocent warm gestures. I noticed the male employees observing this as well and there demeanor quickly changed. The warm inviting energy they offered me as I would attend in the past quickly turned very cold and incredibly uninviting. Very wack to experience and honestly felt kind of predatory if this is not something they "allow" making it incredibly uncomfortable for me to just be in there buisness. Alternatively you can sit out on the covered apron of the converted service-station this once was -- retro and quaint -- but at a noisy intersection with tight parking either side of the seating area. Not my thing, although it seems to be popular. Cups are small, therefore a little pricey -- but the coffee is good by my taste. Surprisingly, for a new venue especially, the service is indifferent. Forage Coffee, what a wild dream of coffee was made. My heart beat as I walked closer to the doors "will they like me... will IT like me?". I continued to open the door the wrong way over and over, again and again. How much I messed up. Ohhh my how hard that was. As the eye contact I made with the other humans was special... yet scary. We cried together in my eyes. As I watched them sip the foam and it leave in places on their upper lip... with cinnamon flakes in it. Oh my the beauty was glowing from their mouths. Could this be? Could Medford create a beauty from grounds? Ohhhhh how weak my heart was over the action I watched come from their buff (yet thin) arms. The first man was glowing from the back. His red hair glistened in the sun light... all over him. Wow so much red hair coming from his head. How unique... which means how beautiful. We made eye contact and I almost felt him smiling at me. How wonderful was he... an owner oh my! The other first man/boy I saw was the tallest man I've seen on this earth.. so far! I didn't believe in all my books that humans could continue to get taller, wow what a mystery coming to real life! I made eye contact with him and I shivered, "he's so tall and his eyes seem to be looking directly through mine into the pole behind me.. what a mysterious man of elegance". As they spoke to each other in wonderful monotone my recipe (no they wouldn't make me a 20oz chocolate mocha...still not ok with), I chuckled inside. What crazy men! Ohhhh to giggle in front of them, I'd be too shy. I heard them slightly call my drink name and I jumped to put my shoes on quickly (size 10 1/2)! I quickly tried to make eye contact with both so I would thank them with my dark brown beautiful eyes. Neither looked at me at all, and that's ok! They're probably shy just like me. Oh I loved bonding with them both! This first sip I had made me shiver, could it be the love I feel? Could it be the taste of something not from this world? I continued to sip within seconds of each sip, for I could not stop! I will definitely be there everyday from now on(not that I'll buy each day). I used to love going to Forage but now that I know and observed them not enforcing the mask mandate they have lost my business forever and I've told everyone I know. It's horrific to see a business clearly not care about the heath and safety of their community. UPDATE: after reading Jacob's response I would like to provide more details. - while standing in line two gentlemen behind me were not wearing masks and were not maintaining 6 ft distance from me. - while I was waiting for my drink I observed staff taking their order and not mentioning that they need to be wearing a mask. In addition, the barista taking their order pulled her mask down twice to speak to them. - each time I went in the building to use the bathroom, I saw staff with the mask around their chin or not being worn correctly (under the nose). - I sat outside for approximately 3 hours while I was studying and drinking my coffee and observed multiple people come in to order who not wearing masks. - there are no signs for mask wearing when not eating/drinking or social distancing. Indoor tables are not spaced accordingly either. - Upon leaving, I asked one of the baristas "Do you not enforce the mask mandate?" To which she responded "We let the customers decide what they would like to do". So that is how I came to this conclusion. The place is cute, but you can tell it was a garage and isn't sealed well. There were lots of spiders by where we were sitting... So many that we actually left. My cortado was fine, but I've definitely had better in the Rogue Valley (like Case). They're also apparently rotating their bean roasting companies, so there is no way to know if you're going to get beans you like or beans that you aren't a fan of. They also had a screaming child running around. Not the end of the world, but it doesn't seem safe to have a small child running around where they're making coffee. read more

I feel like every time I visit Medford, there's a new local coffee shop that pops up but it's usually gone out of business by the next time I want to visit. I hope Forage sticks around for a while. It's one of those cute little hipster coffee shop that sells plants. so the inside is super inviting. The coffee is good -- they have the standards along with a few seasonal options. At the moment, they have a Cardi B latte (cardamom) which is just the right flavor without being overly sweet for $6. They also have an iced latte with strawberry basil black pepper or some magic. Sad and disappointed to have to write this review. Forage was one of my favorite places to go get coffee or to sit down and chat with a friend. I feel that I can no longer support forage coffee company due to their violation of COVID health regulations and disregard for the health of their employees and their customers alike. During this freeze in Oregon, there is no Indoor seating allowed, and masks should be worn be employees at all times. A friend and I went there to grab coffee to go and were alarmed to find that they had a shop full of customers sitting down with out masks as well as employees who weren't fully wearing masks either. There is also leaked footage in their Instagram story by an employee of staff not wearing masks in the store and in the back as well. I understand the desire of small businesses to stay open during the pandemic. I am the LAST person to leave a bad Yelp review and I am the last person that would want forage to have a financial issue from the pandemic, but this is ridiculous. It is a terrible image for the company and an incredibly selfish thing to do. It makes me so incredibly sad that I cannot support them anymore, but I value the health of our community. I hope that other people read this and urge Forage to follow the government mandate. This is just truly so disappointing. read more

Amazing coffee and location. Beautiful spot to have a fantastic cortado. They serve Case coffee and Tailored Roasters. There is a gorgeous area outside for sitting and seems dog and kid friendly. This business says "F you" to Covid guidelines. My bf and I were just passing through southern Oregon. Our main stop was Ashland, though decided to check out a coffee shop in Medford because it was on the way. We go into Forage because of the good reviews, however we walk in and no one is wearing a mask and the place is packed. They do have a large bay window open so there is a good breeze flowing through the place, however too many people were packed inside so social distancing was not a factor (which is still a part of Covid guidelines even outdoors!!) which makes it kind of pointless. No one was wearing a mask in line either, we were the only ones. And the worst part of it was that the employee at the counter had a bandana (Pretty sure that doesn't even count as a safe mask anyway) that he had PULLED DOWN so he could talk to the customer while he juggled the coffee cup in his hand, rubbing his bare fingers all over the rim of it, where customers put their mouths. This is gross no matter what but especially during a PANDEMIC. On top of that, the other employees that did have masks kept pulling theirs off too- and employees kept walking out of the back/kitchen without masks on as well. Wtf?! We walked out. Not going to give our business to such an ignorant and unethical business, sorry. Also we obviously didn't feel safe to consume coffee out of those cups/serveware either. Luckily we discovered Noble Coffee roasting in Ashland where the coffee was bomb and everyone was responsibly masked and socially distanced. Highly recommend- You should go there instead! I was so excited to try this place because of the reviews, but boy do I have some complaints. I came to visit from CA and I try to visit local coffee shops whenever I'm in a new spot, I decided to try this place because again, good reviews. It was a Friday afternoon there were two male baristas working, got there, and they're busy in conversation with some guy I assumed was their friend, fine whatever, I've talked to friends at work but come on have the decency to let the customer know you'll be right with them. About 3 minutes pass, I just walk up to the counter to check the menu. They finally end the convo with their buddy, I asked the barista what he recommended, and he points to the little menu on the counter saying they're Cardi B coffee was the most popular. I noticed there was rose so I asked if they had ever had Philz because I wanted to know if it was similar to their iced rosé coffee. Well, the dude launched into this snarky little spiel about how their a third wave coffee company and they're completely different. Which at this point I was irritated and didn't even wanna order from this spot anymore. I didn't even want that Cardi B coffee, but I just ordered it to get out of that place ASAP. Maybe don't hire people that are gonna be snarky and not helpful in a job that requires constant interaction, and don't catch an attitude if a customer asks a question. My boyfriend even noticed my irritation after I got my coffee cause I was ready to leave as soon as they let me know my coffee was ready.
