Many meetings were had with her and response of updated changes were lengthy in time. If you are on a rushed timeline- do not recommend. We even drove an hour and a half one time to try and have changes done quickly and in person but still ended up waiting weeks for the revised set of plans. MULTIPLE times what we received back was complete opposite of what was discussed during our meetings. I do not know if there was poor communication between her and Jimmy as far as what we wanted but it was very evident what we discussed was not even fixed. After ~6 months we got the final plans. Now in the building process, our builder has encountered MANY issues as far as measurements, layout not working, etc. Thankfully is is able to adjust. I would do your research thoroughly before going forward with this group.

The level of incompetence and lack of communication displayed by this company is truly appalling. To begin with, I entrusted them with a time-sensitive project, expecting them to meet the agreed-upon deadlines. However, it quickly became evident that punctuality was not a priority. ***Their incompetence caused a 5-month delay for my project. *** What was even more disheartening was the complete lack of communication. As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months. I reached out multiple times seeking updates via Honey project, email, and phone on the status of my project, only to be met with silence. Communication was ignored and calls were repeatedly sent to voicemail. It's astonishing how a company can be so negligent in keeping its clients informed, especially when they are failing to meet crucial deadlines. After 60 days they blamed the delay on the Architect for ghosting them. However, if you look at their previous reviews you can see that "ghosting" customers is a common theme. The project was finally handed off to an Engineering firm as they could not fulfill my project requirements as agreed in the contract. Take a look at previous reviews and you will see the majority are spam, falsely boosting their rating. After asking for a refund, it took nearly two months to receive it. First, they told me they would mail it out. Then three weeks later I followed up by email and they claimed they didn't have my address even though it was on the contract. After another two weeks I had to drive there and demand a check. If you are being ghosted by this company or they are failing to refund your money you should take the following steps- 1. Demand a refund within one week via certified shipping with tracking 2. Contact the Hanceville Police Department, 203 Bangor Ave S.E, Hanceville, AL 35077 , (256) 352-9811 and file a report for Fraud. 3. Then contact the Cullman County District Attorney and file a report with them- 500 2nd Ave SW, Cullman, AL 35055 (256) 736-2800 In conclusion, my experience with Elaine Roberts Drafters and Designers was the most disappointing and frustrating encounters I've had with a service provider. From missed deadlines to a complete absence of communication, they have proven themselves to be unreliable and unprofessional. I strongly advise potential clients to think twice before considering them for any projects, as their track record indicates a severe lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. If you have doubts send me a message and I will provide dated screenshots with evidence of their malpractice. P.S. If you look at previous reviews, you will see that it is their response to reviews challenge and discredit negative feedback. Find another designer and leave this one to sink their own ship!!! Next, she introduced me to our project manager, Cooper, who answered his phone anytime I called or texted. The communication made all the difference. There were some delays, but they can't control the weather or concrete shortages! I would also like to give a shout out to Javier, their mason. He is a perfectionist! That means everything is level and beautiful. A little advice when you are installing an outdoor kitchen. Study your manuals before the mason begins and request the manuals be a part of their project meetings. We chose a griddle that was somewhat complicated. Incorporating the manuals ahead of time would have been helpful. Overall, great job, and I have copied their business cards and gladly handed them out to curious neighbors, who are eager to book them for their own projects. Thank you! Olivia

They also broke down to do the landscape lighting for $2500. So after considering Southern Scape's quote which included color change lights, I paid a deposit and signed a contract. A month later they did the job and when I came home, I saw where there were no eaves lights. I contacted Greg the next day and he said the quote did not include them. I take responsibility for not double checking the line item quote, and sure enough, they were not on there. So the quote was basically $8500 for a 15 lights. I know it isn't fair to compare one quote to another exactly, but $6000 difference for landscape lighting is an insane difference. I reached out to Will and he came by my house. I showed him the back and forth text from the other company which quoted $2500 for landscaping and $6-8K to include eaves lights. The miscommunication was very unfortunate, but there is NO WAY I would have ever considered an $8500 quote when I had one for $2500. I requested a price break on the job and he asked me what would make me happy. I just said you see what happened, it's unfortunate but whatever you think is fair, I will pay, even if you charge me full price. He said he would talk to the owner and get back to me. The next day I got a computer generated email for the full amount, no break, not 1 dollar, and no phone call. So, my experience is that I was RIPPED a new one by this company and would not recommend them to anyone.

From the beginning, they were difficult to work with and terrible at scheduling. A 2-3 day job took two weeks and not because of rain but because a $5k job was considered small and want a priority. I basically had to be at home and use annual leave (vacation time) to see if they were showing up. Sometimes they would show up for 1-2 hours and then leave and not say when they were coming back, if they were coming back that day. The "manager" wasn't there so I was directing the workers what to do. If I wasn't outside where they were, they did whatever was the easiest which was usually wrong and not fixable. I will never suggest this company to anyone. Either the management was incompetent, liars, or lazy. Maybe a bit of all three. Biggest regret of homeownership the past 5 years.

I contracted with them to do drainage work, a sprinkler system and landscape lighting. I was told this would take 3 weeks to complete, with each phase occurring on consecutive weeks. The project as a whole took almost 12 weeks to complete, and this was only because I hounded them with calls multiple times per week. The drainage work was the first part, it seemed to be fine, though the French drain was not placed the complete length that was discussed originally. Also the fingers of river rich were put in to stop erosion, but almost no grass seed was put in afterwards, so nothing but weeds grew in between the river rock. The second piece was the sprinkler system. This was put in during a day, but the ground was not backfilled properly and they needed to come back out to fix it. We were told that they would put down grass seed after the lighting job was completed. The lighting work was not completed for another 8 weeks, and there wasn't any seed put down afterwards. They were also supposed to aerate and oversees the lawn, but since they could not get their mower into our backyard, they told us they would come back with a smaller mower to pull the aerator later. This never happened. I had to call them 2-3 times a week for 8 weeks to get them to complete the lighting. Part of it was landscape lighting, the other portion was putting in a fan and spotlight in/on our screened patio. The wiring was placed so shallow, that it came out of the ground within a week and they had to come back to fix. The light and fan was supposed to be put in by an electrician, but was just put in by the owner and his friend. They put a cheap conduit over the electrical wire that didn't even cover the wire. They sent an electrician out to fix the wiring, but he just rigged another kind of conduit on the bare wire to cover it up. The uplighting for the trees was sold to us at $65 a light. I just found the lights online for $45 for a 4-pack of lights. We just gave up with this company and figured we would just be stuck with this work. Over the last year, I kept burying and covering up the wire as it came out of the ground and have been trying to repair the grass in the area where they did sprinkler and drainage work. We are still fighting massive weeds from the lack of follow through on planting grass after their work was completed. I am writing this review today after I just finished replacing 3 lights that stopped working and half of the wiring that was put in for the landscape lights. Turns out they believe that wire nuts are not necessary and you only need to tape wires together with electrical tape before putting it in the ground. If you are looking for a company to do landscaping work for you, stay very far away from this company. You will only be sorry if you choose them.

They have a nice selection of hydrangeas and maple trees. Everything looked healthy and well cared for. The main reason I visited the store was to find a medium sized concrete statue for my yard. They have a really nice collection of garden decor items, hummingbird and bird feeders, yard ornaments and all. They also had concrete statues. I did not find anything I liked, but a good selection nonetheless. I ended up buying a few plants and I will be coming back for more for sure.

The counter girl lied about when it would be planted. First the excuse was we don't have the crew, then it was they are waiting on a machine. I guess I hurt the counter girls feelings because she told me the conversation was over and that I needed to speak to her boss. He reiterated that he didn't have enough crew and needed to rent a machine and that he needed a few more trees to be sold so that it was cost effective to rent the machine so that I will be waiting for another week. This business has continually had crappy customer service and I will not give them another dime of my money. I will take my $500 and to go to a business that appreciates my patronage.
