Since we're selling our house, I didn't want not want any issues with the inspection (nor endanger the inspector). Carlos gave a quote range and was able to squeeze in the job the very next day (it took several hours, easily half the day), and before the forecasted rain! The owner, Kris, was helpful in answering questions about how soon the roof would be walkable after cleaning. He also was responsive about rescheduling a couple times. Ray, our technician, was friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. The crew was quick and cleaned up thoroughly at the end. We were concerned about pressure washing because we had read horror stories about damage and also were concerned about losing the color of our tiles. Kris was very reassuring and the tiles just look cleaner, not less colorful! Very satisfied with the service. Can't speak to price because we did not price shop. Did not take before pictures but here is the end result.

He even asked our next door neighbors for permission to clean up a bit that went over there (homes here are very close together). In the areas that I and my husband were able to look at, it looks almost like a new roof. As you can see from the before / after photos, there are a few stains remaining, but all living garbage (moss, lichen, and whatever else was growing up there) is completely gone. They were highly recommended by our roofer, so I didn't get any other quotes. I can't say whether the price was high, low, or average. At roughly 75 cents per square foot, the cost was certainly more than I was expecting. (The type of roof, as well as its pitch, probably also factors in to the pricing.) So 5* for the job as accomplished, with the caveat that the price seemed high. But then again, what doesn't these days?

No, he's not the cheapest, but 1) you get what you pay for, and 2) he gets it done ASAP--I called another company before just for a comparison quote, and they said it would be two weeks before they could do it--Five Star came in under two days! I would deduct a quarter star only because they forgot to mention they accidentally broke one of the outer window trims on a garage window --it was very brittle from facing the dry afternoon sun for 20 years, so I completely understand; just wish they had mentioned it. I added that quarter star back because upon arrival, Jerry the foreman pointed out that one of the front screens was busted from age/sun and offered to replace it for a great price--important when selling a house!
