If you ask for options for different prescriptions, he will get upset and walk out of the office and say to make another appointment. The doctor will prescribe a NEW and VERY Expensive prescription that is not covered by insurance and then you have to call back for days and hours to hunt the office staff down to send over a pre-authorization form and you don't get to speak to an actual person after your office visit. There site hours must be incorrect or like most they don't pick up because of short staff and just not wanting patients to call and cancel. I have Googled and their hours are Tuesday thru Friday open at 7AM yet no one picks. I am trying to cancel my appointment and they have done everything to not allow it so I can be charged for a late cancellation. Unfortunately, I need to update my review. When I first started seeing Dr. Sara Herman only their appointment scheduling was done from an outside location. It wasn't ideal, but at least they answered the phone, did their job and were friendly. Their billing was done in the office. My experience with that team was great, even when we had to deal with an insurance issue. Now, they have farmed their billing out. It is horrible! The office doesn't answer the phone and doesn't call back. They didn't send me a bill for four months. I've gotten multiple bills from different places for one service date. They don't know about the other bills, even though they are the Forefront Dermatology billing center. They don't have enough information about the services, billing codes, insurance payments, etc. They are unfriendly and unhelpful. Today I finally got to speak to Mal, after several days of calling and being on hold and being told by the automated recording that they would call me back, but didn't. She was more than UNhelpful. I don't think it was her personally. Although I wouldn't at all describe her as friendly. I think it's that the billing company she works for is horrible and probably even out of compliance with some insurance billing regulations. read more

Everyone is nice. However the Dr.? diagnosed me with bedbug bites. It threw us in a state of panic. We ripped our house apart and spent hundreds of dollars to clean and disinfect everything. I spent 15 min on the phone with them trying to get in for an appointment. She updated all my information and then told me that because it has been 3 years since I've been in for a skin check (due to COVID closures, etc) that they would not accept an appointment with me because though they accept my insurance they will not CONTINUE MY CARE because they are not taking new patients with my insurance at this time. Since it's been 3 years since I've been there, they consider me a new patient again. Absolutely the biggest BS runaround I've seen in ages. My entire family has been going there for over a decade. I will look for a different skin doctor. My last visit at Forefront should have cost me $180.60 for a regular skin check, however the doctor asked if I wanted a small mole removed, I should have asked cost, but he said it was a simple procedure that would take about a minute, so I went ahead and consented to have it removed, figuring cost would be minimal. My bill after insurance was $1150.21, I have to pay this out of pocket as my insurance has high deductible. I did call to ask them to review the "excessive" charges, the various people I talked to, said they would try to help but after getting a letter telling my bill was going to go into collections, I gave up and paid the bill. I suggest to anyone reading this review that you look elsewhere and make sure, that you do not agree to any "small" procedure unless you are informed to the cost. read more

I recently saw Dr Welch at Forefront Dermatology in Wexford.They sent out an independent review the same day of the visit. The staff, Dr Welsh all received a 5 rating. However, I cannot afford to go back. I am a non ACA compliant cash plan. With 20% off, my cash price was $693 for 15 minutes. 2 spots frozen. The spots were treated with liquid nitrogen. The pa that did my exam was thorough. She excised a small piece of tissue for biopsy and the TWO doctors that examined the biopsy charged my insurance company $1400 plus dollars for a simply biopsy! I have done both non-ablative laser treatment and Micro-needling for my acne scars here. They told me I should do the laser first and then micro-needling right after it to maximize the treatment benefit. The first time went well, but the second time they had a new machine for micro-needling (Collagen P.I.N) and I ended up having a red/brown area ALL OVER my face. They said it's hyperpigmentation and it takes time to be healed, without offering any money back or free treatment. They didn't accept that it was their new machine that causing the problem, or the materials they used to make my face numb. Now after over 7 months, I can still see the brown spots on my face. I should say though, Jackie did the microneedling both times and she was very professional and super nice. She was very patient with answering my questions and following up with me. read more

Did not feel like we got our money's worth. He "froze" some tiny moles for removal for me- a totally out of pocket cosmetic process- it didn't work on any of them. My PA was unprofessional, glib, and condescending, and I suspect she purposefully left a lesion untreated on my new patient exam so she could charge for it at the 6-week follow up (the lesion was on my face and impossible to miss). In addition to treating the lesion, by the way, she tried to sell me a $50 tube of sun block. Maximizing patient charges seems to take precedence over patient care. I suspect PAs receive "productivity bonuses" based on receivables as part of their compensation. And it would have been nice to at least just meet an actual doctor after two visits. read more

I've been to 3 different dermatologists in my time, due to the fact that I'm fairly old and thought that sun worship in the 1970's was cool... This office is great in some ways and needs a bit of work in others. Being in the medical profession, I know how challenging it can be to deal with the various insurances, the electronic medical record technology along with difficult patient cases and needs. The professional aspect of this office is great. The physicians are friendly, professional and very competent. The rest of the medical staff are friendly and caring. The technical services offered are among the most advanced and I've been very satisfied with my care here. The front desk/scheduling area needs a bit of remediation, however. The receptionist is not always the most friendly of sorts, sometimes seeming ok and sometimes appearing to be quite annoyed that you are there to disrupt her day by your paltry needs to check in. Realizing how most medical office front desks work, I haven't been terribly offended, but some patients might be nervous or worried and an easier check-in process might help. At the visit, I did appreciate how gently the doctor let me know that certain age spots are not dangerous and don't require medical intervention... 5 stars for the medical care 5 stars for the medical support staff (and the sympathetic looks that seemed to say "awww, you poor old guy!") 2 stars for the check-in/scheduling process read more

Dr. Spreaman was more than professional about treating my issue. She listened to my concerns and explain the course of treatment she wanted to use for me. She also gave me practical, daily advice about eating smart and using the correct topical, over the counter products at home. I appreciated that she gave me three different types of prescriptions to attack the issue head on. I would've liked an option to get the generic. Even so, the name brand products ended up being reasonably priced when I used my insurance, and easy to find locally. I thought the appointment was a little rushed but since all my questions were answered, I interpreted it as she is just very speedy with diagnosing things. The negative about my experience came about with scheduling and follow up. I scheduled my appointment with a somewhat hurried receptionist and showed up 5 minutes prior to my appointment the day of. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes to get that first session because of "computer issues" and what turned out to be scheduling issues: apparently, the doctor was double booked. I stood my ground and would not reschedule. I further pestered the receptionist to make sure I got in that morning. A few other appointments weren't so lucky and were turned away, or sat longer than I did. After my first appointment, I called to touch base with the nursing staff on a question, and was on hold for over 10 minutes. I finally hung up, and took the question to my general doctor, who helped right away. Ug. This is when I wish Yelp would let me do 2.5 stars. I'll round-up to 3 stars to be fair, because my issue was in fact, treated with the office's help. read more

My doctor is great. Unfortunately, her practice was, unbeknownst to me, apparently acquired by this horrible company. I received a bill three months after I saw my doctor, accompanied by a separate letter saying they had been very patient with me but were THISCLOSE to sending my account to collections plus I would have to pay $150 upfront to see their doctors again. I paid the bill, and received another threatening letter shortly thereafter. Run from this place! I made an appt with a dermatologist but was seen by a nurse practitioner. I was cut in one of two identical spots and she put liquid on my lip. I was never told about the charges that included $40 for them to send it to their lab. I was there less than 30 minutes and my bill was $2600. They have lowered it after my complaint about them charging for double lab tests and it was benign. My bill is still outrageous and their response to the BBB was a call to me that was an attempt to bully me. They are ripping people off and need to be stopped. I've asked for an investigation by the attorney general. If you're a victim, contact your state AG. They received $850,000 in grant money from WI and this is how they do business. read more

Marinette, WI Made an appointment to check some odd blotches on my back. They took two biopsies and didn't send any results to me or my regular doctor as I asked them to. Twice! Wanted me to return to take the two stitches out that a 10 year old with instruction could do. I obviously removed them myself. Still no report... Then they called and wanted to re-do the biopsies. I of course did not attend. The total bill was over $3500. Yes, that's right, over $3500 for one visit and two small skin samples/biopsies. This is just wrong. Find another place to go. The doctor began marking and cutting by scalp before I could ask questions about billing and what was covered. I was told that it would be covered. They did not use the proper billing codes for UPMC and I had to call them and tell them to fix the codes. Seven month later I got a bill for close to $400 dollars for what I thought was covered.
