An Italian espresso bar is a welcome addition to the neighborhood as there's a real lack of coffee places around. Walking inside, right away I liked the old-school, no frills vibe of Il Primo Cafe. The menu is straightforward, with espresso and milk based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. I opted for a doppio. They have a few prepackaged sweets including biscotti. There are a couple tables and a bench on the sidewalk outside. It was nice to sit out on a sunny day. I spoke with the owner, Danny, and he is looking to add a pastry case with Italian goodies like rainbow cookies and cannoli, as well as a freezer for gelato during warmer months. I'll be coming back to Il Primo Cafe for my espresso fix and am excited to see what they bring in the future.

There are plenty of seats but during the weekends they fill up quickly. I would just recommend coming in earlier. Really enjoyed their strawberry matcha latte and banana latte. The matcha had a strong creamy flavor that complimented the strawberry flavor very well. Judging from the color, it was definitely a decent quality matcha. The hot banana latte was not too sweet and really impressed me with the taste. It wasn't artificial and was very comforting on a colder day. I also tried the oolong tea cheesecake. The texture was moist and the perfect density for a cheesecake. While the tea flavor was light, I would get it again. Excited to try out their other drinks, they also have a selection of desserts like the tiramisu that will sell out quickly.
