Came here on a Sunday morning at around 10:30am and it was already quite packed! I got the iced regular dalgona coffee (around $5.65) and was able to find a seat to do some work for a few hours. The service was quick and friendly, and I appreciated the self serve water station. There are lots of people studying, and some people talking and catching up. I really enjoyed the dalgona - it wasn't too sweet and the little candy bits on top added a nice crunch. This Korean cafe caught my eye the moment I saw a post about it on social media! From the urban forest vibes, to the beautiful drinks, and all the way to their croffles. The smaller, curated menu always gives me hope because it means the team takes more effort to dedicate to a couple of key drinks/dishes. The croffle was presented so cutely, but it did take a bit of time for it to be ready. Not pictured here was a dalgona latte, but the grapefruit-ade is shown in this photo. I think their fruitades are more of an aesthetic thing - I would pass on it because it just tasted like any other pop. This place gets packed even on weekdays, and one of the frustrating pieces is that it is SO hard to find parking because it's very limited (not the cafe's fault, but definitely a deterrent for me). Came here with some friends for a meet up! We tried some of their cofffles (lotus biscoff - $11~ and apple crisp - 13~) and found both of them delicious! The apple crisp had a very 'apple pie' like vibe to it while the biscoff was sweet! I also had the iced dalgona coffee ($5.25) and found it very tasty as well! The dalgona melted into the ice coffee a bit adding to the flavor and I found that they mixed very well together. Had fun and the cafe itself was super cute! Located by the condos, Forest Cafe is a busy local cafe that is not only a great place to chill, but to also grab some bites and drinks. The difficult part about visiting, is probably finding road side parking on the weekends as it's usually full. We came on Sat around 2:30pm, and it was quite full inside. The food menu consists of simple sandwiches, croffles and snacks on display. We opted to try the Beef Sausage Sandwich, Chocolate Croffle, Brownie and Dalgona Coffee Latte. The sandwich was quite tasty - a toasted croissant sandwich with a big piece of beef sausage, wrapped with tomatoes and lettuce. Nothing special, but was satisfying enough to be my brunch meal. The croffle was very tasty, and inside was filled with Nutella - one of my favourites! The fudge brownie was also a hit, it wasn't too sweet, but had big chocolate chunks filled inside. My only complaint was that I wish it was bigger haha. The Dalgona Coffee Latte was also a great drink to complement what we ordered. We got the cold and hot, and personally I liked the hot just because cold drinks usually comes with ice, which would dilute the drink a little bit. food: 4/5 the coffee here is always great! Compared to other independent cafes, they have a relatively large menu composing of both drinks (coffee and smoothies) as well as food. They also offer oat soy and almond milk alternatives. The dalgona latte here is very smooth and not too milky or sweet, if you like the taste of espresso, this one's a great choice. I believe they also offer online mobile ordering as well, which is very convenient and rare for independent cafes. Service: 4/5 pretty standard coffee shop service. The baristas here are generally pretty efficient and friendly. I do appreciate that there is water available to self serve within the cafe, so you don't need to bother the staff for it. Atmosphere: 4/5 location isn't ideal for a ttc commute and parking is not great... so keep that in mind. However, they really do pack a lot of seating in here, as well as some outdoor seats. There's also a few outlets around the cafe which is a must have for me in a cafe evaluation. If you're someone that values the seating and comfort of the cafe over food, this place may be for you. However, I will note that it does get a bit crowded and seating may be competitive depending on time of day. I've also noticed that every time I've come here it's generally full with people getting work done and not really social gatherings, which keeps the volume relatively faint. Really nice and stylish place. My first time there was a Saturday afternoon and it was packed and I could barely find a place to sit, but another day was a weekday morning and it was plenty spacious and pleasant. Great drinks and even some great food. I had a nice Chocolate Croffle with my Sesame Latte last time. I spent a week or so in the apartments/condos in the area and spent my mornings at Forest Cafe drinking coffee and doing some work. I got to try most of their offerings except for the Dalgona coffee and any of their food. Their coffees are better than other places within walking distance. However, I don't think it's anything special. The cafe itself is very pleasant and aesthetic (korean aesthetics). They have a huge Monsterra plant inside. It's super bright inside with natural light as they are a corner unit with two glass walls. I recommend this place for doing some light work/reading. Would I go back? This is a cute aesthetic cafe near Fairview Mall with friendly staff. It's a great spot to study, but you'll need to parallel park if you get here by car. I tried the: 1) Tropical Fruit Tea - this tastes so good! It's one of the pricier drinks, but it has slices of strawberries, grapefruit, lemon and lime in it. It also has popping pearls which was a nice surprise. I would recommend this drink. 2) Forest Ade - this is lime and mint flavoured. The flavour is really light and refreshing. I have been to this cafe many times over the past year, and I've had a great experience overall with the quality of their products and their staff! The drink I normally get is the Dalgona iced coffee with oat milk substitute. It is a very delicious drink that is reasonable in price. It compares to other high tier cafe spots. They have a loyalty card you can use that gives you discounts on your purchases. If you decide to come here often, I suggest you look into getting this card! I'm sad to give a small business a low rating, and I'm sure the BlogTo article a few days ago contributed to this rating...but I have to be honest. Located in area full of condos, this cafe is definitely cute and photo worthy! It's small, but I think maybe one day it has the potential to be good. Today was not the day unfortunately. Not sure if on top of the customer volume if they were short staffed as well (3 people ), but from ordering to getting my order, it took about 25 minutes...for cold brew and a bakery item. The staff seemed to be all over the place so hopefully when the buzz dies down they can figure out a better system. I did hear others in line complain about the wait as well so I know it's not just me. Now, this next part is my fault completely, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of one....but once my order was called up, I took it and went on my way without checking the bag the person gave me. So of course my luck it was the wrong order - I ordered the tomato and olive bistro item and was looking forward to it. I was given a plain croissant. Again, my fault for not checking, but how they do the order system, I can see how things can get messed up quite easily with items for customers/receipt tickets all squished up in a corner. Sigh. Now I'm hungry and annoyed at myself for not checking. UPDATE....I'm going to up my review to 3 stars b/c their IG page was updated last night to say they will be closed Monday August 30, to better review their service/order systems as they recognized lots of customers had long waits, which they felt were not acceptable. LOVE LOVE LOVE this cafe! It's super cute and right across Fairview mall. Free street parking also available. It's in one of the retail spaces of the condos near there. It wasn't super busy when I got there around 10:30, however as I was leaving it was getting busy. Indoor dining is available. The cafe itself is designed very nicely. Such a great aroma when you enter and it just has a great vibe. Perfect for studying with a nice ambience of instrumental music playing. Felt very safe and warm and comforting. I ordered the berry croffle - it was soooo good. So flavourful and delicious. The matcha latte was also really good as well. I'll definitely be back to try more things! I ordered food for sit down, but they are packaging everything in takeout containers for cleanliness and covid safety. Staff were wearing masks and also brought the food to the table. Came by over the weekend to grab something refreshing. I gotta say, this is a nice fit for the neighbourhood. I'm a supporter of these small/one-off businesses and they didn't disappoint. We placed an order online through their web order portal and gotten our order confirmation shortly after. Once we walked over, we saw a nicely decorated cafe that is cozy and very comfortable. This cozy looking cafe came across my Tiktok feed over the summer and intrigued me to visit. The cafe is in a stretch of first floor storefronts of a condo complex. Street parking is available although typically quite packed. First impressions of the cafe were that it was really aesthetically pleasing and welcoming. Staff were also really friendly and talked us through unfamiliar menu items. We ended up ordering a cold Einspanner and a hot Black Sesame Latte. The Einspanner is a black coffee served with their house made hazelnut cream foam which is SO GOOD. Highly recommend trying cold or hot. The black sesame latte had a really rich roasted flavour that was prominent througout the body of the drink. There are also coffee products for sale such as oat milk, chemex brewers, kettles, and beans. Since our initial visit, we've been back a few more times to do work or just chill. I really love the atmosphere and the great drinks tops it all off. The nitpicks are that there is limited parking and limited in-store seats, so be cognisant upon your visit! read more

My friends and I were looking for a place to grab coffee (and specifically croffles) when we were visiting Toronto and stumbled upon Forest Cafe. We weren't so sure because of the reviews, but I'm surprised it's not rated higher! Upon walking in, the design and decorations of this cafe were so cute and very much that Korean-cafe aesthetic. We ordered an assortment of croffles and pastries, and coffee as well. The croffles were AMAZING! It did take some time, but it was pretty busy when we arrived and we also ordered a good amount for our group. The ade that my friend got paired so well with the croffles. My other friend and I got their lattes, and they were also good as well (not mind-blowing amazing, but got the job done and tasted yummy). -- we ordered the black sesame latte and the hey oat latte If I lived in Toronto/Markham area, I would DEF see myself coming here often for a coffee/croffle/ade run for sure. I've been eying this spot as it's so aesthetic. This cafe is super small and it's not the greatest place to work at. It's more of a chill and catching up with friends spot. There's barely any parking space either so if you're driving try to park at Fairview mall since there's plenty of parking there. I got the dalgona iced coffee. Personally I tried it and it just tastes like a regular ice coffee. It wasn't horrible but it was not as good as other spots that I've tried. The price is also a bit much for what it was. VERY cute little cafe; wonderful staff, plenty of seating, the food is okay, I personally think it's priced higher than it's worth which is why I give it 3 stars, but the coffees are great! I got the forest sandwich, the brownie & a hot chocolate this time around which came up to $25 which I think is a little crazy. I can go to all you can eat sushi with that amount of money. The sandwich was good, but if I'm honest, it doesn't need to be served on a croissant, since it's so flaky & falls apart so easily. It was good, but I had to eat the majority of it with a knife and fork, which isn't really what I want from a sandwich. The hot chocolate wasn't as rich as I would have expected it to be, the brownie was really good though. Forest Cafe is a specialty coffee shop selling a variety of beverages and baked goods. They are located in a residential area across from Fairview Mall amidst lots of condos. I came to know of this coffee shop through Instagram - plus they also have a great interior as well! I dropped by Forest Cafe on a Wednesday afternoon around noon. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, the coffee shop is takeout only. I would love to return to have a coffee there to relax once it's safe to do so! The staff were friendly as I debated what to order. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a kimichi croquette (recommended by another Instagrammer). I did see that they also had croissants and other baked goods for sale on display which looked equally inviting! In terms of the coffee, they do use de mello palheta coffee beans, a roaster based in Toronto. They also have a variety of beans, milk, and flowers I believe for sale. In terms of my flat white, it was made well. The kimchi croquette was delicious. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with kimchi. Delicious! Overall, great coffee shop in the North York area. It is a bit hidden from the big streets so you do have to look for it. It is a nice relaxing spot to have a coffee or a baked good if you are ever around the area! I've always wanted to try this place out after seeing their super aesthetic drinks all over social media. The interior is super cute with lots of people doing their work or studying. I ended up ordering the sunset ade and a matcha cheesecake cookie. I thought the drink was okay but quite pricey for what it is, which is just grapefruit and sparkling water. The cookie however was super good and it was sooo soft on the inside with rich cheesecake flavour. However, I did wish it had a harder outside but that is personal preference. For coffee lovers out there, steer clear. Although a beautiful spot to hang out, their coffee disappoints. My buddy and I love coffee. He's definitely a snob while I can enjoy a McD's coffee but can't stand a Tim hortons brew. I ordered an americano black and he ordered an espresso and we threw them both out. We both tasted stale and burnt hay. One star for decor and for polite service. I have to minus 3 stars for calling themselves a cafe with out having decent coffee. Forest Cafe is one of those places that have really good drinks but you'd have to be justifying to yourself to be buying it for its price. Luckily, their portions are almost double of what you'd usually in downtown TO and the drinks are genuinely really good. The Iced Dalgona Coffee is easily my favourite and a go-to if you're trying them out. Not all their drinks are a hit but it's definitely up there. service is nice, pretty straightforward. Near the counter, they also have a small selection of goods for sale (candles, etc) which make good gifts. Their menu has a nice selection of drinks and croffles/pastries. Oof I wish I had a better experience as I had heard good things about here and it looks great as a hang out spot. I swung by just to grab a coffee and it took nearly 30 minutes for a black Americano. There were two baristas working and they were scrambling as best possible to serve seated customers. There was a line up of people waiting to simply order things and we were ignored for 5 minutes between each person. The coffee itself wasn't bad and I enjoyed it but it should not take so long for a black coffee. Came here with medium expectations and felt let down. Unfortunately got sucked into the hype with IG and blogTOs post. The space is a lot smaller than what I expected which is fine, however I felt the seating made it hard to physically distance for people. Their menu offers very light bites however the price seems a bit steep for them. We ordered 2 croffles [1 choco and 1 berry cream], 2 croissant sandwiches and 1 hot / 1 cold tea. The food and drinks took awhile to come out even though the sandwiches weren't heated up which I thought they would. The other disappointment was in the croissant sandwich had very cheap ingredients like kraft single? Not even a real cheese slice... for that price? The ingredients could be a bit better quality. The croffles were quite disappointing as it was just 1 per order. Which for that cost should be at least 2 as it just seemed like a reg croissant put into a waffle maker. The toppings weren't anything more than a giant dollop of whip cream and some chocolate chips / berries depending on which one you ordered. Drinks were good however would have been nicer if the tea latte was a bit hotter. Also would like to note they do not offer any decaf options which is very disappointing if you were looking forward to trying their coffee options like I was. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here but it is a cute cafe for the area and adds a nice space to hang out with friends. Staff seemed a bit lost in what they were doing.
