Every cat I have adopted in the past came with tags for license and rabies and was treated for fleas and dewormed. When I got the cat home, she had an oozing left eye and diarrhea. I waited a couple weeks for it to go away. Then I called them and told them what was happening and that the kitten came with these conditions. They said to bring her in for a check-up and after some discussion agreed to cover the visit. When I tried to put the kitten in the cat carrier, she went feral and scratched and bit me which turned into an infection. When I got there, I asked the staff if they had given me a feral cat. They wouldn't answer. I asked the doctor if she was feral and I needed to get a different cat. The doc said that they would clip her nails and put soft sock on her claws and to give it another try before returning the kitten. They had to put the kitten under to do that. The doc told me that her litter mate had Giardia so my cat probably did too. She also said my cat had gingivitis and an eye virus. This place keeps about 15 cats in one room in a trailer. So they all probably have Giardia and eye viruses. They gave me medication for my cat and said I had to pay for it. I said the cat already had these conditions when I adopted her and they had agreed to cover the visit so I shouldn't have to pay. At this point they grabbed my cat carrier with the cat inside and ran to the back and refused to give her back unless I paid! I could hear the doctor telling them to take the cat from me. I couldn't believe this unprofessional behavior. I ended up paying. I told the doc that I was mislead about the cat and the visit which is why I was asking questions. She said something like it must be a "cultural" thing (I am not Caucasian). Not only is she rude and misleading, she also makes racist remarks. All very shocking to say the least. While I was waiting I read the pamphlet for Cat Scratch Disease (Bartonella) which has very serious consequences to adults like organ failure if scratched by a diseased cat. My cat had the symptoms so I asked them to test her for it. Not only am I infected by the scratch, I may have a serious disease! If I hadn't read the pamphlet and asked for her to be tested, they wouldn't have done it even though the doctor saw she had symptoms. They said they would let me know the results in 2 weeks. This whole experience has been very stressful and I feel bad for the cat I adopted because through no fault of hers, she may have to be returned just when she though she had a forever home They are doing a service by taking in stray cats but they are taking no responsibility for adopting out unlicensed cats with parasite and viruses. I just hope my older cat did not catch the parasite and virus. They are spreading diseases. I don't recommend adopting cats here because you could get feral cat with parasites and viruses like I did. Go to Auburn Humane Shelter. They charge $150 and their cats are licensed, have rabies shots and are dewormed and healthy.

Twelve years ago, as a severely underweight 2-year-old, she ran away from a meth house that was breeding her to sell her kittens (crazy story), finding us several miles away at the Yardarm after crossing Kent-Des Moines Road. (The burgers they grilled there obviously smelled really good!) She moved in with us and we took her to Dr. Onorati after we'd been to another vet that we didn't get a great vibe from. As we left with her that first time, Dr. Onorati thanked us for taking such good care of her. The kindnesses continued over time as we brought her back many times for regular care and emergencies - when she pulled a thigh muscle chasing a cat out of her yard like the bad-ass she was, when she cut herself on the sharp barbs of a fence she hopped over, when she got folded into the automated machinery as we lowered a garage door we didn't realize she was lying on top of, and more. She was 8 pounds of sass and awesomeness. Last month she developed a massive infection that did not respond to intensive treatment, and we ultimately made the decision to help her say good-bye. The doctors, the assistants, the technicians, and the front desk folks were all just incredibly kind to her and to us as we navigated the past month and the end. We are so grateful to each of them. As I spent lots of time there, I had the opportunity to witness the attention and care all the animals (and their people) coming in and out received. When our next kitty finds us, we'll be back again. Sending healing love from our too-quiet home to all of you and your sweet furry ones out there.

I brought Theo in for a rabies shot because his 1-year rabies vaccine had expired. Before the appointment, I made it very clear that Theo is a reactive and anxious dog. I explained that he does not bite and that he is comfortable with me handling him, and I specifically asked if they could show me how to do basic handling like taking his temperature so we could make future visits less stressful. Instead of working with us or even attempting to build any level of comfort, the doctor skipped everything and went straight to the shot. What made the situation much worse was the behavior of the front desk woman (who appears to be the doctor's wife). She unnecessarily followed the doctor into the exam area even though she was not assisting with anything and only increased the stress level in the room. She yelled at my dog, got in his face pointing her finger and saying "No Theo, no," and made multiple annoyed comments about him barking. Theo was clearly scared, not aggressive, and her behavior showed a complete lack of understanding of fear-based reactivity and anxious dogs. Yelling at a frightened dog is not appropriate or professional in a veterinary setting. When I asked if they had treats to help distract him during the shot, she acted annoyed, went to get something, came back, and never even gave it to me. They then instructed me to hold my dog in a tight chokehold while they administered the shot, which I have never been asked to do at any other veterinary clinic. Normally, vets take the time to calmly approach, build trust, and handle dogs in a way that reduces fear and stress. To make matters worse, they administered the 3-year rabies vaccine even though I clearly and specifically requested the 1-year rabies vaccine. This was communicated beforehand and ignored. Overall, this visit felt rushed, dismissive, and unprofessional. There was no effort to understand or properly handle an anxious dog, and the environment felt hostile rather than supportive. Veterinary clinics should be safe and compassionate places for animals, especially those who are fearful or reactive, and unfortunately this experience was the complete opposite. I will not be returning and would strongly encourage other owners of anxious or reactive dogs to look elsewhere. Oh and in addition to my experience, a family member of mine also had a very concerning visit at this same clinic. They brought their dog in because the dog had a strong, unusual smell even after being bathed and wanted to rule out any underlying health issue. Instead of performing a proper assessment, the doctor immediately insisted it was the dog's anal glands and expressed them. What made the situation extremely uncomfortable was that both the doctor and the front desk woman repeatedly tried to get my family members to smell the anal gland fluid, even after they clearly stated that the smell they were concerned about was completely different. Rather than listening to the concern or exploring other possible causes, they continued to insist it was the anal glands and focused on trying to prove their point. The dog already has its anal glands expressed regularly, yet there was no effort to properly evaluate other potential health issues or investigate further. My family members ultimately left and took their dog to a different veterinary clinic because they felt their concerns were being dismissed and the situation had become unprofessional and uncomfortable. After hearing their experience and going through my own, it seems to reflect a pattern of dismissive behavior and lack of proper communication and care. Pet owners deserve to be listened to and treated with professionalism and respect when bringing concerns about their animals' health.

Thankfully my husband decided we had enough of their behavior and lack of care, we took him to VEG ER in federal way where we had a fantastic experience with vets that cared for his well being and his after treatment/follow ups. They were incredible. You don't have surgery and then get NO after care or ability to come in, such as what happened at Marine View Vet. The rudest from office staff I have ever talked to in any facility animal or human. I do not recommend this facility or their staff.

I would encourage anyone reading to take heed to the many other negative reviews left for this business by other customers. I brought my dog to this clinic off and on for about 3 years. I mainly went for anal gland expression as they are the cheapest in Federal Way for that service. They had always provided curbside service. Curbside service was the norm during the scamdemic for virtually every veterinary practice. Britney helped us during our most recent visit, and she claimed to be an office manager. She said I needed to come inside in order to check in. I explained that I was disabled and didn't bring my walker with me, because curbside service had always been provided. Britney said that curbside service had never been routinely offered, which wasn't true. She offered to assist me with ambulating to and from the office, which was appreciated. However inside of the office, the only seating available were plastic fold up chairs. There was also a long line which would involve prolonged standing. Both of these conditions aren't compatible with someone who has a disability. Curbside service was still being advertised on their front door and their website. I pointed this out and was again denied accommodation. I calmly, politely, and respectfully let Britney know that I would be contacting the ADA and/or The Human Rights Commission due to their refusal to provide accommodation. After this statement was made, Britney agreed to curbside service. When she returned my dog to my car, she said their clinic was not willing to provide service to me again. I asked why and she replied, "Because you threatened us even though we offered to help you". Britney's response might be understandable had I been disrespectful, rude, or raised my voice, but I remained calm, polite, and respectful during each interaction with her. I wasn't angry, I was dumbfounded. In shock. I later tried reaching out to the ADA and the Human Rights Commission, but a real person wasn't available to speak with. There was an outgoing recorded message stating that they weren't accepting any more reports/complaints. This was likely due to being inundated with reports/complaints during the scamdemic. It's a shame that this business was never held accountable for the (likely) illegal way they chose to conduct themselves.

After conferring with Dr. Kissak and our regular vet, she was able to schedule my dog for an evening after hours surgery. Dr. Kissack performed the surgery well on my 13 yr old dog and followed up with a phone call on Saturday to check on Reggie. Also, she promptly returned my call on Monday answering my questions. She also helped with some problem solving regarding an issue that was a normal post surgery symptom. My dog, Reggie, is recovering well thanks to the team at this clinic who went above and beyond to help. I highly recommend and I am grateful for Dr. Kissack and her team at the Animal Surgical and Dental Clinic in Maple Valley.
