Very disappointed with this clinic. We specifically called in advance and asked if they could perform an ultrasound for our pregnant dog, and we were told yes. However, after arriving and after they had already performed other procedures, we were informed that they do not actually have an ultrasound machine and only offer X-rays. It felt very misleading because this important information was only disclosed after services had already been provided, making the client responsible for paying for the visit anyway. This wastes people's time, money, and creates unnecessary stress for pet owners in an already emotional situation. Please be honest and transparent with clients about what equipment and services your clinic actually has before scheduling appointments and charging people. read more

Been going here for 4 visits with our dogs because it's very affordable. Three out of four times we had to wait 20 to 30 minutes past our scheduled time to get into a room. One time we were on our way and called to say we're 5 to 10 minutes late in the middle of traffic, they refused to see us and made us reschedule. They have very low tolerance waiting for people, but fine with making people wait for them. But since it's very affordable, you do get what you pay for. Today was the last straw & we had to leave after 30 minutes past our appointment because it made us very late for work. The place is also very outdated and runned down, but the doctor seems calm & doesn't rush. So not too bad if time isn't something you value. read more

I beg you please don't come here. The only good thing about this place is the receptionists who actually seem to care for the pets. If I could, I would leave zero stars, one star is too much. We have been coming here with our pet cat for 3 years ever since he was a kitten. We had to say goodbye to him when he was only 3 years old because of this vet. Dr Edwards doesn't care about your pets. We took our cat yearly for check ups and vaccines. Every time dr. Edwards said that he was doing well. Our cat got visibly sick. We went to Edwards and he checked his temperature (didn't tell us if it was high or low until I asked and it was low. Then why didn't you tell us??) and he kept giving him shots. Took blood work and X-rays. Only told us the stuff that lined up with his hypothesis. When we asked for the report to be printed for us there was so much more information. He even told us that there was no fluid in the lungs which was good, ironically enough THERE WAS. Our cat wasn't eating for days so Edwards said that he will give him fluids such as vitamins. We get home and our cat has a massive bulge on his arm, I thought that he broke it or dislocated it. We called Edwards in a panic, his response? "Oh yeah that's the liquid, I forgot to tell you that that will happen". Are you kidding me? He wouldn't give us anything unless we asked for it. We asked for food to feed our cat with via syringe since he won't eat, we asked for the reports on the blood work and xray since he didn't give it to us, we asked for something to stimulate his hunger. He never says what he recommends, he always says "if you want I can do this and that". He'll give a shot and send you on your merry way, oblivious and falsely positive of your pets good health. Our cat suffered for a full week because Edwards was too stubborn to tell us that he has no clue what's wrong. We went to another clinic, in two hours they told us that our cat has fluid around his lungs and heart. That it was very very serious, and that all of this was because of heart failure. This wasn't an overnight thing, this was accumulated. What kind of check ups don't catch that?? Sometimes Edwards' clinic would just take the cat "to the back" to give him vaccines and that's it. Edwards didn't even check because he was running behind. Then get more vets, what kind of a clinic only has one vet and sacrifices their health just for a few more bucks in their pocket?? You can tell that Edwards is always rushing. We went to him when our cat was having symptoms and he told us that the cat was just having an attitude. I can't understand how someone who doesn't care about animals can be a vet. Because of his lack to detail we have to say our goodbyes to our cat. When I was in the lobby with our sick cat a woman described to Edwards that her dog landed in the hospital and described everything that was wrong. Did he seem worried, concerned, even interested in the health of the dog? Not even a little, his response was "ah ok" and he turned around and left his filing cabinet. I'm not even over exaggerating, his response was literally "ah,ok". I can't believe I have to say goodbye to a loved pet just because Edwards gave us false security and when an emergency happened took a couple thousand from us just to pretend like he was actually doing something beneficial. If you love your pet, please go to a different vet. read more

The doctor is firm but gentle with our dog and he takes his time to make sure he answers all of our questions and concerns. read more

A friend of mine of is the founder of a pet rescue and uses the services of Dr. Edwards. She brings multiple dogs for various services. I trust her and decided to bring my Luna here for a quote for teeth cleaning. Our regular vet quoted me $650 + (no extractions are needed) plus she would need blood work (extra $) two weeks prior to the procedure. I decided to get a second opinion to see what the charges would be here and the quote was much more reasonable - less than $300 (no extractions). And no bloodwork needed unless I want it. My pup is young and get's all her shots and check-ups 1-2x year. Needless to say, it's a no brainer I'm bringing her here as I found Dr. Edwards very warm and compassionate towards my pup and my foster pup. read more

We had an appointment just last week for our 2 year old Holland Lop to be neutered. They made scheduling easy and the appointment went very smooth. My only qualm was it wasn't a very personable visit. We were told we'd be spoken to after his appt. to discuss the after-care responsibilities, but instead were just given a sheet of paper. This place is awesome! I've had my share of Vet experiences...from having to pay some really outrageous prices to having Vets that didn't seem too keen to my K-9. This Vet was recommended to me by two different people from two different places in my life. Doctor Edwards is the one and only Vet here! He is amazing. NOT only does he keep his office open 8a-8pm Monday through Friday, he is also open Sat. from 9am to Noon and is always available for emergencies. Can I just say that I love my dogs? I mean, LOVE. They are like my children. I worry about them like a Mother. Though they mean the world to me, I often am shocked to get my vet bill and a little flustered. Not with Dr. Edwards. I never feel like I've been over charged here. Half the time, they do not even charge for the visit but rather just the service. I've got many friends who have dogs and they're always complaining about how even going in for shots, the bill is $60 and a $35 charge for just the visit. At Green River, I was only charged $35 for shots and no visitors cost whatsoever. That was great. I just dropped my dog off to get him neutered. They called me today just to tell me that he is doing well and that I can show up whenever is convenient for me tomorrow to pick him up. That courtesy alone should speak for itself. Upon making my apt. for Dexter to get neutered, I was having schedule conflicts. They open at 8am and I start work at 8am and due to them being in Auburn and myself working near Northgate, I could not come up with how to get him there. The Receptionist was like, "ok, no problem! Drop Dexter off on Monday after you get off work just make sure you get him here by 8pm. We'll do the surgery on Tuesday morning and then you can pick him up on Wednesday anytime before we close." That's nice, I'm thinking to myself but how much is it going to cost me for him staying overnight almost three nights in a row? Nothing, it turns out. I guess what I'm trying to get at is yes, this place is located in Auburn. It's a trip out and back. If you truly want to know that your pet is in the best hands possible and that those hands are not about the bottom line but more so about the quality care of your animal, come here. I really like Dr. Edwards, I recently switched because I was tired of seeing a different vet everytime I went to my old vet's office. I received a lot of conflicting information from the numerous vets (from the same office!) previously so I chose Green River Vet since it is just Dr. Edwards and he is experienced. Dr. Edwards is also knowledgable about natural diets where as my previous vet told me I should not feed my dog a natural diet. He doesn't push any particular brand of pet food like my other vets, either. I appreciate that he gives me informational feedback rather than judgemental feedback. And his microchip fee was 20% less and he charges less for xray, there wasn't a xray tech fee added on my bill. The office staff is friendly and although the building is older, I am glad I am not paying for office decorations or frills. read more

First I want to say that the front end staff at this veterinary office is great, and I loved the ease of online scheduling. Bree in particular was especially helpful. That said, I took my brand new puppy there twice and won't be back. Our first visit began with a 45 minute wait in the examining room, after arriving about 5 minutes before our appointment. She was scared in this new space so I killed time by having her practice "sits" and giving lots of treats, trying to sound upbeat and excited. (We had only had her for 2 days when we took her in.) When the doctor came in, he didn't introduce himself to myself or the puppy, he just said hello and went straight to his computer screen. When the exam began, the puppy was very scared being handled by a stranger for the first time since coming home and the doctor didn't attempt in any way to ease her nerves. I mean just a simple sniff of the hand and friendly pat on the head probably would've helped. It turned out she had an ear infection and he really man-handled her ears while showing how to clean them and apply medicine. I don't expect a vet to necessarily dick around trying to play with a dog, being overly gentle, etc but getting straight to business with a brand new puppy really scared the hell out of her and she has shied away from strangers, especially men, petting her ever since. But maybe the vet was just having a bad day, and this is my first dog in 10 years so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took her back a second time. Again she was terrified, definitely more so now, and I waited in my car for an hour and 5 minutes past my appointment time before he saw us. No exaggeration on time. In fact, while I was checking in another client stormed out saying she had been waiting in a room for 45 minutes with her cat and couldn't wait any longer. After that I won't be back. read more

Dr. Edwards sees my rabbit and my dog. It is SO HARD to find a vet that will even care for a rabbit, much less board her. I am so thankful for him and his staff! We have been seeing him for over 2 years. He has seen us for emergency and general care. He is caring, and friendly and just an overall old school vet. He sees horses and is very involved in the animal non-profits in Auburn and has many, many animals of his own. I like his approach of not fixing things that are not broken and not suggesting things that my pets really do not need. He is careful and kind to my pets. He does not lecture me about their care, but he offers very helpful advice for how I can help my pets be as healthy as possible. My animals like him a lot too, which is rare for a vet on their part. I really like that he is down to earth and quiet and careful. He also does not make me feel dumb when I am being an "overly concerned" pet parent. They are 2 different practices with 2 very different Veterinarians. Her sad experiance would never have happened at Green River Veterinary. Dr. Edwards does not do overnight emergency. I found Dr. Edwards about 9 years ago when my own veterinary clinic - who my family had used for more than 20 years - said that they were too busy to fit in my cat who was suffering from a urinary tract infection. Not only that, but they didn't even have someone who they could recommend and told me to use the yellow pages. That's exactly what I did, and I called Dr. Edwards office. They got me in right away, and I liked him so much that I've been taking my cats there ever since. Dr. Edwards has a wonderful, calming bedside manner. He obviously cares for animals, and is very sensitive when they are afraid or in pain. He is also very careful to discuss various treatment options so that you understand likelihood of success, cost, etc. of each one. He keeps great office hours, staying open until 8:00 p.m. twice a week, which is great for those of us who work and can't always easily make it to a vet by 5:00. My family has been going to Dr. Edwards for over 15 years. First my parents and, now that I've grown up and moved, my husband and I take our animals there as well! Over the past 15 years, Dr. Edwards has been the vet for our 3 horses, 5 dogs and 4 cats throughout that time and every time we are completely confident in his work. Although we are now out of the horse world, my husband and I still bring our 3 dogs to Dr. Edwards for routine check-ups and anytime we have a health concern. He is great as he gives you all the information you need with an unbiased opinion. Dr. Edwards is able to catch issues that other vets have missed (example: we took our two dogs to the Value Pet Clinic when they were puppies and they didn't notice they had heart murmurs but Dr. Edwards did) The prices are very reasonable and the staff is always great! Yes, the prices are more than Value Pet Clinic, BUT you can see what you're paying for and it is well worth it! I don't have to be anxious when I drop my dogs off because I know they're in great and capable hands. They do great follow-up calls and never push procedures/shots/medicine on you. Our Chihuahua will be getting his ears cleaned and his teeth done next month and I am fully confident in Green River Vet's ability to not only treat my dog but to genuinely care for my dog. Dr. Edwards and his staff are some of the nicest people. They were always courteous and respectful. My Spike was elderly and required a lot of care. Dr. Edwards helped him so much and this drastically improved his life. Previous vets didn't help him the way he needed and this made me wonder if Spike's sister Willow would have lived longer if she had been seeing Dr. Edwards. This vet took his time, explained everything, answered all my questions and went above and beyond for Spike. He is the only vet I will see. My Spike passed recently and Dr. Edwards was so gentle and caring when I needed to put him to sleep. One of the vet techs was in the room, too. She held his head as he passed while Spike was in arms. This place was by far the worst vet experience Ive ever had. My dog who I had for 9years recently got very sick and passed away. Her regular vet Des Moines Vet Hospital took very good care of her and reccomended Auburn Emergency Vet in case of an overnight emergency. I understand that they were not her regular vet and didnt know her but they also didnt listen to what I had to say. I told them she was blind and that she had seen a doggie eye specialist who confirmed it but they still felt the need to test her vision when I was there for more urgent matters. My dog had a fever of 104 and was very restless and uncomfortable. The vet said she was dizzy and gave her a shot for nausea and sent her home. That night at home I was awake all night watching my poor dog suffer waiting for morning so we could go to her regulat vet. I just wanted something to make her comfortable but the vet insisted she was ok. I told them het recent history of her sudden illness but the vet insisted she was ok. My dog died that morning aftet much suffering. If you love your pet do not bring them here. I miss my dog like crazy and I relize she probably would have died anyway but she should not have had to suffer her last hours when the vet could have helped. read more

We just moved to Auburn and after a recent camping trip, our dog had a laceration on one of her back paws. Dr. Edwards was able to see her a lot sooner than any of the other vets in the area. My pup usually hates the vet but she was pretty calm here and Dr. Edwards was great with her while cleaning her paw out. And the best part to me is that it only cost us $83 for the visit and 2 antibiotics! In my previous city, a visit like this would have easily cost us in the $200. read more

I completely agree with Delilah. Dr. Edwards is great. I have had lots of animals in my life and dealt with many veterinarians. Most of them charge far too much and do more than they need to do. Dr. Edwards is smart, thorough, does what is necessary and no more. My dog injured his leg and I took him to Green River Vet because I called and found out they had on site x-ray equipment. I figured he would probably need an x-ray and I didn't want to pay for one visit just to get referred to somewhere else for x-rays. Dr. Edward examined him, manually checked his leg over and stated that he thought it was most likely just a sprain. He prescribed some pain meds and told us to watch him and if he didn't improve in a couple of days to bring him back. He was fine in a few days and much more comfortable until he healed. I'm not a wealthy person so I appreciate Dr. Edwards practicality. He is very caring for both your animal and you. We've been through losing the same dog to cancer and several other pet illnesses with Green River Veterinary Clinic. They have helped keep already horrible situations from becoming even worse with overwhelming vet bills! read more
