I was really hoping for something here, since I live so close. I have back issues due to my work and after a pretty bad night, I was hoping to schedule a massage and get relaxed, as my back was a seized bundle of nerves. Unfortunately I never got to the massage, since the office gave me the runaround. I called in to schedule a 30 min Swedish massage and was told that the first available appointment was at 11am. I confirmed that 11am was a good time for me and gave all of my info to the receptionist, confirming again that my appointment was at 11am. Not ten minutes after I got off the phone did I get a call back from the office, saying that the massage therapist had a conflict and would I be able to reschedule my massage to 2pm? A little irked since my day was now thrown out of whack, I agreed, figuring that at least I'd get a little relief from my terrible back pain. Again I confirmed that the new time was 2pm. Just 5 minutes ago I received another phone call from said office telling me that now the therapist would not be able to come in at all and I'd need to reschedule my appointment for another day. That was enough for me. I even asked if they had someone else available and said that this was the only therapist scheduled...Well what, are you closing your whole business for the day then? Unfortunately they have lost my business for good now. I was hoping to establish a relationship with that office due to the good reviews here and the convenience of the location. If you can't keep your story strait and you want to give me the run around, you aren't getting a second chance. If this office truly only has one therapist a day, the receptionists should make sure that they know that one person's schedule to the letter to better facilitate clients. In the end all I get is a negative yelp review to write and a bottle of ibuprofen to try and settle this back pain. read more

I have seen therapist ARIC several times, and I can surely say that he is awesome. This guy knows what he is doing. His years of experience are obvious, and have paid off since I do not even have to tell him what muscle bundles are knotted up, he can feel it and find it on his own with his hands. I get the deep tissue massage which requires quite a bit of strength and work on Aric's behalf and he really works hard and strong to hit all the areas that are knotted up. No previous massage therapist I ever saw before previously was able to do the deep tissue work that Aric does on me. I have seen so many different massage therapists previously before Aric that were either too weak or just did not know what they were doing, and I am so happy I found Aric and now am a regular returning client with Aric, thank goodness. I have mixed feelings about this place. I was prompted to make an appointment as I couldn't find any legitimate massage locations in Forest Hills to go to in order to start treating my foot pain. Seeing the mostly positive reviews I decided to make an appointment here for a 60 minute massage with Renata. The person on the phone didn't seem to be knowledgeable on what massages would be best for my foot pain so I just went with a Swedish massage. I arrived to the location 10 minutes before my appointment time and found the door locked. I knocked, peered in, and saw that the lights were off and that no one was there. A bit flustered, I decided to sit down and hope that my therapist would arrive soon. At the time of my appointment I knocked on the door again and Renata opened. Apparently she was finishing up with a client and didn't hear me earlier. I looked around and there is no receptionist, the number you call on the phone goes to a call center (Hence the lack of knowledge of massages). This kind of put me on edge. While I am not familiar of what massage clinics are like, I did expect that there would be a receptionist, other client's, and therapist's milling about. Not just my therapist and I in a locked location. Renata's massage was great. I feel asleep at least 3 times and my foot pain has gone away. I was a bit peeved though while paying. After asking on whether I'd be paying by cash or charge she asked on how'd I be tipping her which put me off. Then she asked how often I'd be coming and gave me her hours and days. While I understand this is her hustle and how she makes money, it did put me off from wanting to come back. read more

Heaven! That is what you will feel like after Aric works his magic from his incredible hands into your skin and body. I came here recently with a cane after having an invasive procedure just days prior. Unfortunately when transferring me from the operating room table to the gurney they either dropped me or placed me down too hard. I actually shrieked. Not to worry. One deep tissue massage by Aric and I am cane free. I know it is hard to believe but it is also quite true. I have been coming to Aric for many years now, over a decade, probably longer. And with good reason. He is sensational. He is also one of the most pleasant fellows you will ever meet. This is not one of those ritzy fancy massage places. It is also not a place where you need be concerned about inappropriate touching during a massage. It is a place where you can come for a serious massage and get it. He does different types of massage and you can choose which you prefer when you schedule your appointment. In addition to coming here myself, I have referred my Mom and even treated my Aunt and Uncle to a massage here before it was time for them to fly 12-14 hours home. I knew they would enjoy it and boy did they ever. Every time they come visit, they lovingly remember their experience here. I workout regularly and I have some back injuries. I not only like deep massage but I need it if I want to function and work out regularly. I love this place. I have been going for the past few years and I get excellent deep tissue work. I have also gotten invaluable exercise and nutrition advice. There have been so many places that open up in Forest Hills, and I try out all of them, and even individual therapists that have private practices in their apartments etc. But so far, to date Forest Hills Massage has given me, by far, the best massages on a consistent basis. Also I like the fact that you make an appointment for a specific time, and you get taken in at that time. It is very easy to make an appointment. In the past I would call their number but now I can just book the appointment online. The place is small and cozy. For me, what I like about the place the most is consistency. Over the years, some places had good therapists on one occasion, and on another I would get a somewhat lousy massage. Sometimes the places were clean, and other times they were pretty dirty. I actually had a therapist answering calls during my massage and booking appointments. I couldn't believe it. But At Forest Hills Massage it is quiet and, so far, my massage has never been disturbed. I always have a great, smooth (with booking etc) experience, and the quality of massages allows me to work out regularly and keeps me out of pain. Excellent place! read more

Potential customers beware! Today was my first and last experience with this business. This weekend I called to schedule a one-hour deep tissue massage in the evening. The person on the phone was very helpful, and I was looking forward to my appointment with Evelyn at 7:30 PM tonight. Because it was my first time going to this place, I arrived to the building 10 minutes early, and the first thing I noticed was that the office was completely dark inside. I tried looking for a doorbell, but there was none. I tried knocking, but no one came to the door. I tried opening the door, but it was locked. I was concerned that I was wasting precious massage time, so I called their number after five minutes had gone by. Someone promptly picked up, but I didn't hear the phone ring inside. I asked if there was another way to get in because I had been waiting for a while and no one had let me in or come by to open the place. It soon became clear that the person on the phone was at a call center miles away, since she didn't have a good idea of where I was standing. She told me that she would have Evelyn call my number. Ten minutes later i got a call from an 888 number. The person who took my call earlier told me that Evelyn was on the train and couldn't get any reception. She then asked me if I could reschedule, but I cut her short before she had a chance to tell me whatever deal Evelyn tried to make up for her not showing up to a meeting that was scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. I left at at 7:37 PM. Needless to say, I am never scheduling another appointment at this place, and do not recommend it to anyone. read more

Most effective and immediate relief I ever had from a deep tissue massage ever!! Went in with stiff, sore lower back, pulled leg muscle and overall and 30 minutes later left with relief. Had some initial soreness and sharp pain that dissipated within an hour which is expected after any deep tissue massage. This is 1st time that soreness went away and felt a healing. I have often found a regular "massage" given to me by a spa, or even a licensed massage therapist, to be just ok. I feel a little better but no great improvement. The massages I receive by Forest Hills Massage Therapy are, well, "therapy". It helps immensely. I have used both Aric and Vicky and the massages are incredible, they are deep but not too deep, they know the right places to work, and I get stretched and I get nutritional advice. It is more like a wholistic health center. Also, it feels very exclusive, the focus is on you, only you, and I have had a lot of musculo-skeletal issues (injuries of my muscles and bones) and now, they have addressed all of them and I am in no pain! This is amazing, and I still go for maintenance but only once a month. I have been going to this facility since its inception, I believe 1998, and they have had a bunch of therapists over the years, all have been excellent. I used to get massage at NYSC back when they were offering it, and it was always so noisy. One of the biggest things I noticed, that you might take for granted, is that when you go to Forest Hills Massage Therapy, it is so peaceful and quiet, and relaxing. My appointments always start on time and I get a full hour ( a lot of places say its a one hour massage but they give you only 50 minutes or so of massage). The place is very professional and healing at the same time. I make all of my appointments online now and if I ever have a question I email it to them and get an almost immediate response!
