Best golf course, always in great shape. The staff is very friendly! The food is Awesome in the Pub. A must play!

No water or cart personnel often no ball cleaner and gas carts terrible very slow so expect 15 minutes per hole the gm is failing this course many tree need to be cut also tee boxes are very poor read more

Very Poor customer service. They made me pay $50 for a spectator cart at a tournament that I had 2 kids playing in, even though I live in the area and I am a member there. JP who works there is very rude and forgets who the customer is, he had the verve to say "if you don't like it you can leave", and tried escalate the situation and cause a bigger scene. As I asked around to other parents who were in a cart by themselves they said they only paid $25 for the cart. Robert who manages the carts treats everyone very professionally and should be commended. read more

They overpack the course with tee times and it's always backed up. No course starter riding around keeping everyone on pace. The guy with the microphone is terribly annoying while you are trying to tee off in the first hole. All the carts run like crap. It I could give this course 0 stars I would. read more

We played at Forest Lake Golf Club today and it wasn't in very good condition--the greens were bumpy and dried out. Worse, they had just fertilized with a really smelly fertilizer that attracted flies--ick. However, the rest of the course was in excellent shape so I think with a few rains it will be back in mint playing condition. The course is really pretty fun--challenging holes but with par fours that can actually be parred and easy par threes. The main challenge I had was the greens--they played okay even if a bit spotty but boy were the flags placed in challenging locations. Good clean mid course bathrooms. The golf cart service had an awesome waitress (she worked inside too) who was very helpful in shoring up everyone's ice--it was really hot so this was well appreciated. We didn't get to try the grill inside because with a late tee, by the time we got off, they'd closed up. The golf course moved well and the starter had everyone well in hand. This was my first time playing Forest Lake. While I've heard great things about the course, they are not on golfnow and I hadn't ventured out to this part of town. Boy, I am glad my group and I decided to play here. We tee'd off at 830 on a friday morning and finished our round at about noon.The pace of play was fantastic. We decided to play another 18 since we finished so quickly so the pro shop attendant sent us out again right after lunch. Again, the pace of play was great! Lunch by the way was excellent. The best $6 sandwich I have ever had. The course itself is unique in that this part of Central Florida offers some fun elevation changes that the course takes advantage of. Their most unique holes to me were two of the par 3's on the back 9. The tee boxes are mostly all in good condition as are the fairways and greens. Overall, I found the course to be unique, challenging and most importantly fun. It was also a good challenge but also fun for my girlfriend and my dad. The staff at the course was very friendly, helpful and you feel like you wanted to return. Even though they are not on golfnow, I would certainly recommend playing here. read more

I've been playing Forest Lake for over 15 years. Love the staff and particularly Allison who is adored by all regulars. However, this course has gone to shit in the past 2 years. They have let a fungus slowly invade all their greens a made them unplayable They need to act now - bite the bullet, shut the greens down and rebuild. Horrible conditions now. Central Florida has lots of great courses to play - this is not one of them. read more

My take on Forest Lake is that it may not be fanciest place or the cheapest place around but the prices are fair and the grounds are decently kept. I have been here a few times and it has never been too crowded. The cart attended was extremely courteous and my lunch at the turn my last time out, fried bologna sandwich with a side of fries, was amazing and cheap. This place is my go to course when I don't want to drop big bucks to play Orange county national. FUN FACT: Go after work on weekdays its less than $20 to play!! read more

Poor course management. Tee times are 7-8 minutes apart. No ranger keeping the pace-of-play up. This has been the case for quite some time. 5-1/2 hour round on an early Saturday afternoon. Course condition is ok. Golfers need to learn how to fix divots on greens. Closest course to home but probably won't return. Waste bunkers full of water on 12 & 13. Wasn't in either, but should tell the story about course management. Not remotely close to being worth $50. read more

Two years later I would agree Ryan Ks review still holds true. While Forest Lake is not one of the top courses in the area, I would describe it as a fairly decent course that is always in good shape. The course itself is a good 20-30 minute drive from orlando, and sits off of the 429 in apopka/ocoee area. Rates are always fair, more so then many of the less maintained courses in the orlando area. There is a decent sized practice facility inclusive of driving range, large putting green, chipping area with bunker and rough shots. The course itself is a fair length, and has many open holes. It can provide a fun day for those just beginning, and a decent challenge for the better players from the back as the tee shots tend to be tighter the further back you go. The greens always roll nice and are well manicured throughout the year. The fairways are generally a little tighter, and I find myself with a better lie in the rough at times. Overall, Forest Lake is a great course for beginners and more experienced players. The greens are always in great shape, while the rough and fairway are fine. Though it is a short drive from orlando, you will be rewarded with a decent course that doesn't break the bank. read more

My home course. Been playing here since it opened and it just keeps getting better.. mainly because the great management team (owners). They CARE about the course and they are working everyday to keep it the best place to play. Very fair and open to play for every level golfer. My only complaint is that I see way too many golfers playing the wrong tees. The "blue tees" are not for the average golfer unless you can shoot in the low 80's. Forest Lake Golf Club is solid. The conditions fluctuate throughout the year but it was in pretty good shape last week. We had a great time. Played with my mom's boyfriend in the afternoon and we had the whole course to ourselves. It was a weekday, I bet they get slammed on weekends and holidays. The pro shop, locker room, and club house are modest in size and amenities but they are clean and get the job done. The driving range is nice and you hit off real grass with decent balls. The course itself is regulation and they have at least five sets of tees for all skill levels. The tips are legit at just over 7,200 yards and the greens were rolling. I would recommend this course for anyone. If you haven't played, you've got to check it out. read more

The layout is great but the course is only in average shape. Fairways have weeds, tee boxes are not in great shape and the greens are pretty grainy and inconsistent. Their summer twilight rates are awesome if you want to play cheap. This winter they have been booking too many tee times resulting in huge wait times and 5 hour rounds. I've been playing here for over 10 years and it's never been this bad. Please spread out the tee times or at least have a Marshall out more. Don't expect lush fairways and perfect greens with the traffic this place gets. A lot of hacks who shoot in the 100s and don't know when to pick up after their 8th shot from the rough come out here and beat the course up. Not always the smartest golfers here either. I've seen groups of 5 on more than one occasion. Stay away on the weekends and Jan-March unless you enjoy waiting 10 minutes for every shot. I was here recently and by the time we got to the 4th hole we could see 3 groups waiting to hit on the 6th hole ahead of us. Yeah we got a rain check and left for another local course. The practice range and chipping/putting area are alright. read more

It would be tough to beat this course for the price. Currently, they are doing a promotion where 2 play for $30 a piece. Excellent price on a course that is typically in good shape. It is definitely challenging, and has several holes that utilize the change in elevation, not something you always see in the Orlando area. While there, we had the cart attendant come around several times, and when the clubhouse restaurant was slammed, she went above and beyond to let us order, and then find us on the back 9 to bring us our food. Overall, the course has several tees for all ranges of skills, and the carts have a good GPS system in them that shows you how far you hit the ball, and accurately gives you distance to the pin. read more

I enjoy this course a lot but course conditions range from being average to fantastic. For warm up the range balls are rationed out very sparingly for cost compared to competitors. Snack bar and dining room offer good tasting food at affordable prices. You never know who you will see on the course - even Paula Creamer, LPGA has a photo and scorecard posted. read more
