Didn't play the course, just wanted to hit some balls. The driving range is pretty rudimentary. It has covered open bays with artificial turf mats. Yardage marked appropriately. You get about 60 balls over 12 dollars and a good walk from parking. Not close to any amenities but open to public. I guess meant to be convenient for those playing the course. read more

Course Review: Cypress Course at Grand Cypress Located at the incredible Evermore Resort, the Cypress Course is pure Florida golf. Wide fairways, plenty of water, and some massive bunkers placed exactly where you want to hit it. It's a course that keeps you thinking -- but never feels unfair. Hole 3 is a highlight -- a true island green that immediately gives off TPC Sawgrass #17 vibes. It's the kind of hole you take a video of before you even tee off. One of my favorite things? The natural tee boxes. You tee off from the same surface as the fairway, which just adds to the flow and visual appeal of the course. Best stretch? 13 to 15 -- two gettable par 5s and a drivable par 4 in the middle. That three-hole run gives you a real chance to go low or lose it all. It's the perfect mix of fun and pressure. The greens were pure, the layout was smooth, and the whole property has an elevated, tournament-ready feel without being too serious. It's challenging for better players, but playable for all levels. What impressed me most? The conditions. Orlando's been in a pretty serious drought, and most courses in the area have understandably been feeling it. But Cypress? Hands down the best-conditioned course I've seen this season -- even with the lack of rain. Hats off to the team for keeping it that dialed in. the links course is fun with wide fairways and challenging greens - overall a fair course but the amenities and service are fair and compared to the pricing you expect more - the pricing of $360 is overpriced and well over the value you would expect for the course - at best it's a $250 course with adequate amenities and service and courtesies - likely not play the course again read more

Very nice golf course! Most greens are shared with front/back pin placements. Sometimes you forget which one you are shooting too but no big deal because you're usually short anyway. Just chip over to the correct flag. But overall it's a fun course and the staff is very pleasant read more

I heard a country song once that went: "Wide open spaces..." That's what comes to mind when I think of Grand Cypress. I've never been to Scotland, but I imagine this is pretty similar. Jack Nicklaus designed "The New Course" paying homage to The Olde Course at St Andrews. The first and last holes are exact replicas of #1 & #18 at the birthplace of golf. The rest of the holes are Scottish links style with wide fairways, 100s of pot-bunkers, minimal water and a few holes that share a green creating huge putting surfaces. I had a blast here, despite paying on a unseasonable cold and windy day in Orlando, which lended itself to the illusion that I was playing overseas. Unfortunately, they are undergoing a renovation on the two other courses and the practice facilities at the moment. Otherwise it was a great track! read more

Beautiful condition, unique layout compared to other local links style courses. Glad our cart had plenty of battery charge. At least a mile plus to get to the first hole. Unbelievable amount of construction going on. By next year will be a destination complex. read more

The Links course is one of the best courses I have played on vacation. Fairways are wide open and immaculate, the greens are incredible. The pot bunkers are tough, all I could do was blast out into the fairway. I've never been to Scotland, but I imagine St Andrew's would be like this,except a little cooler. Grand Cypress New Course = Fun and Beautiful Day on the Links Played the New Course while at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. The golf club is down the road and accessible by shuttle. They are taking great care of the place and the staff is very attentive. Clubs provided for rental were a beautiful set of Pings that were sweet to hit with. All the staff you interact with are helpful and the Academy personnel aren't pushy. it's hard not to enjoy the experience. The course itself is an obvious ode by Jack Nicklaus to St Andrews. He even designed the famed bridge and walls into the course. From tee boxes to fairways, to greens, the course is in excellent shape. I can recall only one hole that showed multiple pin movements to mess up the surface. There are the usual Nicklaus risk-reward shots. I lost four balls trying to be better than I am. You know: Hit two great shots and one tends to get overconfident. Damn fairway woods and deep pocket bunkers! If your a fan of the game, this is definitely a course to mark off on your list. read more

The course itself is in great condition! It's a true links course with velvet-like fairways and excellent, albeit undulating greens. The stone bridges and fences give the course a Scottish feel. It's wide open, so you can just swing away. However, there are SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS with how this course is being operated. I tried to call (yesterday) to change my tee time and was bounced between 3 different people none of whom was able to help me after 20 minutes. No one offered to take care of my request and call me back. Getting to and from the first and last tee is an adventure, with all the construction going on in the area. I was escorted out (a very long way) to the first tee box. At the end of the round, a maintenance guy had to help me find my way back to the clubhouse. Signage is intermittent, at best. On the course, finding your way around was an adventure, too. Which green goes with which hole was not clear, despite different colored flags (yellow & white, according to which 9 you were playing) on the double greens. Green to tee box routes were similarly obscure on a few holes. This course needs a lot more arrows pointing the way. Or, the non-existent management could provide each golfer with a course guide handout. There was no GPS on the cart to help with directions. With a round of golf costing about $100 (off-season), this course is a rip-off. By the way, a can of Coke on the course cost $4.50. I have played a lot of great courses in the Orlando area without the need of a seeing-eye dog AND without getting lost on the course. I will play those courses, NOT THIS ONE! read more

What a beautiful golf course the greens were in great shape, the front wasn't too difficult but the back was another ballgame. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. We seen the cart lady twice which was a huge help due to the temperature, I will definitely come back this year for another round. read more

I would like to say that I wish this review had more to do with the beautiful golf course at grand Cypress and the amazing layout. I must say I've been playing there since the Academy was in its heyday and it was a great place to learn the game and grow up, the memories I've made at grand Cypress are incredibly valuable to me. Today I went back to check out all the construction and make a tee time, if available. I pulled up to the security gate and it looked just as it did the last time I was there. There was a gentleman who looked to be a manager standing at the gate and I asked him if I could drive around and look at the course and maybe speak to someone about making a teetime and he said I had to "do that on the phone and that I couldn't drive around because of all the construction". That's fine with me rules are rules, so I drove in the gate to make a U-turn and because of all the construction there were trucks on both side of the road. I drove up a little further and as I got further up the road it became uneven and unpaved, I kept looking for somewhere to turn around that was flat enough for my car to not bottom-out and I couldn't find anything. I had only been 100 or so yards up the dirt road when the same gentleman who I spoke to me at the security booth, named Louis almost ran me off the road and hit my car with a security truck. I called and told them about it at the pro shop and they said "what time do you want a tee time?" I'll just keep the memories I have of grand Cypress and not make any new negative ones, lots of beautiful golf courses in Orlando. read more

We golfed 2 of the 9 hole courses last summer and while we were here this year we golfed The New Course. It was a great course although double flagged greens are always a little odd. The staff is friendly and helpful. Lunch is a great option in the restaurant. The New Course is challenging enough with both undulating greens and fairways. The grasses in the rough ate plenty of my balls. 3 to be exact...With 2 falling prey to the water. Grand Cypress has become a tradition for us. read more

Played Grand Cypress new course today this is without question the best golf course in Florida. There Tee boxes Fairways & Greens all in awesome shape. Cart lady was good very fast on her turns. The guys in the pro shop was very nice & helpful. Definitely coming back soon. read more

This is an incredible place to practice golf. Not only do the have a great range but three practice holes with varying tees and bunkers. If you are serous about getting better at gold, join the academy. It's a bargain if you practice daily. read more

This place is really nice. It is the nicest course I have ever played on in fact. We played 2 holes and then a torrential downpour happened and got rained out. The staff was very easy going with the rain checks. I cant wait to get back on the course. read more
