The course isn't in great condition and some holes are way too close to each other. One of my friends was actually hit in the face by a ball from another hole, and we had a similar close call on our second visit, which was concerning. You also barely see the caddies. Played here six months ago and yesterday. The course has gone down considerably. The greens were more sand than grass. I took pictures. Check them out. The city took over this location and I kind of expected it to be in the same condition as the Winter Park 9. Nope. It was not all bad but the core portion was horrible. Newly renovated snack bar and bar. Nicely done. Nice sitting area and the bathrooms best I have seen at a local course. I mean real nice!!! The staff were very nice but there was an odor of burnt plastic inside. Carts worked well but their geo fencing made no sense. I had multiple times it shut down well away from greens and tee boxes. Number one has the range down the right side. Wouldn't let me get within twenty feet of the marked out of bounds as I searched for my ball. Also how about sending someone out to police all the range balls on number one. Another tip. Have your mowers work backwards so each group only deals with it on one hole? We had a mower escort for three holes as we finished the front nine. Found it weird they were cutting tee boxes at 1pm. It wasn't wet. PRO SUGGESTION: how about a discounted rate until your greens get fixed. Many course give a discount during aeration season. Highlight was the guys I caught on two and waved me up to join them. Pro Tip: Tuesday has a ladies league so get out early or not at all. 5000 yards should not take four hours. Pro tip: I would skip this place until they get their greens figured out. read more

This course was in good shape. The greens were fast. I loved the driving range because the distance markers were large and visible. We played 9 holes after 3 for $20 which was great. The carts were new and had computer screens for scoring, hole overview and rule reminders. Also the ice water machine on the patio by hole #1 was much appreciated. The ice is the small cubes kind that I love. We didn't try any food in the pro shop, but it looked updated with lots of tables for seating after play. We will definitely come again. read more

Great short 18 hole course tucked inside a small older neighborhood. The track is fairly basic with straight shots and several nice gentle doglegs, all speckled with bunkers, lined by old growth trees, and a creek or water hazard looming about. The conditions were very good and there are a lot of course renovations being made. This course would be a nice challenge for a beginner, just right for the average golfer, and perhaps an under par day for a really good golfer. The pace of the round was nice and the staff were friendly as well. Two nice cart features I really liked were the GPS systems and the club/ball cleaner. Wish all courses had these. There is a beverage cart on Saturdays. The facility has a small but nice pro shop as well as restaurant/bar with decent food and beverages. A nice outdoor patio area is just outside with an Ice/water machine. Really nice feature. Overall a really nice course for your average golfer looking for a good time. read more

Played this course for Spark league. Pro shop was redone. Looks nice. Could not find the women's bathroom. Signage was poor. Ended up opening their pantry door to find out the door was behind me. Where is the darn sign?!?! Plenty of parking. Complimentary bag of range balls upon check in. Cart was ready to go with our names on a score card. Driving range had plenty of space. Distance markers were out there. Platforms did not have any tees so I used my own, just off of the mat. Carts are basic. Great pickup. No electronics. No cooler. No magic sand. Course was marked clearly. We never got lost. No cart service on the course. Bathrooms were not clearly advertised so I did not find one. Greens in rough shape. Lots of burnouts. Lots of sod squares just off the greens as well, so be careful. Had fun but pace of play was ridiculously slow. I think some randoms somehow got mixed in with our league play because there were WALKERS two groups ahead of us. It was blazing hot at 5:30 on a Wednesday. Why are you walking and slowing us down?!?! We didn't finish 9 holes until 8pm. Doubt we will play the League there again. Service in the club was super friendly. Bar was open for food/drinks. I've yet to play the course (from the road it doesn't appear to be in great condition at the moment), but I'll commend Winter Pines for having a nice driving range. They rotate between well-maintained grass tees and high-quality mats, their balls are good, the field is well-marked, and the staff is very friendly. This review is not reflective of the course's condition, as it was in solid shape. If you have a foursome this course will probably treat you to a good time. Just be prepared for a long pace of play, as it gets very crowded here. My review is in regard to the poor experience a friend and I had here. For the first time ever my friend and I were paired up with another twosome. My friend and I are both beginners, so playing with a twosome was a new experience for us. It brings me no pleasure to say this, but our first experience was horrible today. One gentleman in the twosome was very pleasant, but the other gentleman appeared to be highly intoxicated upon arrival at 8:30 a.m. Between hole 9 and 10 he was provided more alcohol by the course, which did not make the situation any better. He joked at one point he had COVID, and that made my friend and I incredibly uncomfortable. Finally, he urinated himself on one of the holes and also joked about that. Perhaps the scariest occurrence was when we saw this man DRIVE from the course once our game had concluded, even though he'd been drinking. Reached out to the course prior to my review because I don't take pleasure in writing low reviews, but I never heard back. I won't be returning. read more

26-28$ typically for 18 holes with a cart. Grass is always in good-to-great condition. Greens are typically slower than most. Challenging greens lots of undulations. Fair but difficult holes. Played some of my best golf here. The range is cheap 50 balls for 5$. A chipping area and putting green and a separate large chipping area if you walk a good 2 minutes. Since my last review they have put a starter or course Ranger and it is helping play Move smoother. My comment about the staff might have been a bit premature people in the Pro Shop are under a lot of pressure and since then I've noticed they have a much better attitude then I originally thought. This is probably the worst golf course and club house staff and players in Orlando. They charge way too much for the condition of the course, half of the greens are unplayable! I booked a tee time on a third-party website. The site took 10% for the reservation with the balance due upon arrival. The balance due was not 90%, I was charged 100% of the fee. And then they tried to pair me up with another group. No. My tee time. If I wanted to play with other people, I would've joined THEM. But I reserved my tee time. Not THEIRS. And the players are rude as well. On my previous visit to Winter Pines, I was on the green at 12, par 3, flag down, and the player behind us damn-near hit our cart, with my partner sitting in it! This was after they hit into us on the previous hole. NO FORE EITHER TIME! I reported them right away, but got no apology, and no action was taken by the staff. Needless to say, I asked for my money back today and Winter Park Pines Golf Club will see no more of my dollars. Ever. read more

A friend of mine recommended this loop to me recently, as I'm from out of state and I'm impressed. It's tucked away in a neighborhood, and when it's busy, the only thing that shows it is the parking lot. Bags of balls at the range are $4 for a large and greens fees with a car are $17. You really can't beat that. And to top it off, it's one of the most fairly priced 19th holes I've been to: $7 pitchers and $3 mixers. Come check it out, it's a hidden gem of winter park. read more

But let's be honest, if you're looking for a Bay Hill or Isleworth quality course you're barking up the wrong tree. If you want an inexpensive endive course that's fun to play WP is for you. It's a nice place to go if you just want to play on but not the course you'd necessarily want to take really skilled golfers. Played here for the first time, the course was average for the price. Layout was really simple, front nine greens are in very poor condition but the back nine are alright. Fairways are decent, but pretty muddy on some of them. Overall it was a good round for the price, more aimed at towards the beginner type golfers. A friend introduced this golf club to me today. Before this, I had never swung a club. We went primarily for the driving range. For only $4 you get a bag of 50 balls - which will take you a good 30-45 min. to get through depending on how fast/slow you're willing to take it. The driving range is a nice wide open field, with plenty of tee offs for enough people to practice on. They also have beer, alcohol, and snacks for you to munch on if you so desire. For the price of the bag of balls, I'll definitely be wanting to take a trip to the driving range more often. Maybe then, with some practice, I'll be ready to take on a few holes. read more

Well, on a positive note, this track is conveniently located near University and Semoran. Unfortunately, that's where the "positive" ends. The driving range is either on mats or when not on mats, you're hitting off sand. There isn't any turf from which to practice. They do have a chipping area but unfortunately, its really small and really flat. The course is REALLY short, there really isn't any difference between the fairway and rough. The greens were a pebbled mess of bald spots and dried-up greens. Neither the course nor the greens seemed like they were watered at all. For the most part, the staff do seem very nice and accommodating except for one woman in the pro shop that acts like she's just seething with hatred. They need to find a different job for her out of the public eye. She's really bad. read more

For $11 to $15 its a great deal! The course is in fine condition and the slow greens are in good shape to make birdie putts. Staff is very nice and relaxed. It's a short course so long hitters can use long irons off the tee and work on shot shaping. While it does not seem to make any difference in my game, I frequently use the Winter Park Pines driving range and practice facility for practice. The driving range balls are reasonably priced at $4.00 per bag, which is reduced somewhat if you buy a range card. The range itself is always in great shape, though it can get soggy with significant rains. It should be noted that they only allow hitting off the mats on the weekends due to the significant amount of play on those days. There is a large putting green with multiple cups as well as a nice area for chipping from different lengths. Inside there is a small bar and snack room that serves up beers, hot dogs, sodas, sandwiches and snacks. With so many courses closing or significantly cutting budgets, Winter Park Pines is easily the best public practice facility in the area. read more

A quick update and explanation for the additional star: I found out that if you spend $25 or more in the golf shop, you get a complimentary pass for one with a cart. This is my go-to spot for buying balls now. I like Titleist NXT Tour which normally go for $30 at the big box retailers. Here they are marked up to $34 but with the free round of golf plus cart fee, it's a no-brainer. I think you can redeem it anytime during the week and after 12:00PM on the weekends and they do have expiration dates, but it's still a great deal. Check it out! read more

Fortunately the snack bar and practice facilities give this location a two star rating otherwise it would have to be a zero or less. The greens on the front nine actually have numerous divots as if people were hitting fairway shots. It also seems that none of the players ever were taught to repair a ball marks on the green. The greens in general have also been damaged because of numerous hole locations by the ground keeping staff. Novices and experienced players alike just can't enjoy the game when you can't get a true roll on the greens. read more

The strong point of this course is price no other course in the Orlando area can compete without quality dropping of the map. You do get what you pay for in that this course is brain dead as long as you can get the ball down the fairway you don't even have to think about your shots as any of the bunkers they have are really just for show and out of the way. There aren't really any water hazards either really only two to mention. there is supposed to be a little creek or something running throughout the course but there is rarely any water. the back nine is also very short. The driving range is also very reasonably priced $4 for 50 balls and the putting greens are nice as well though don't expect much break It is a well maintained course and drainage is not normally an issue but it is a popular course so there are a fair amount of divots but to no fault of the staff. I have also never had an unpleasant experience with the staff. If you are someone who is looking for a course that doesn't break the bank or are a beginner or looking to introduce someone to the game this is the perfect course for you. read more

Just got back into golfing and this is a great course for all levels. The front 9 is a bit more difficult than the back, the back 9 is filled with a few long Par 3s. Thankfully, unlike other courses I have played, there are very few hazards. Been lucky as the course hasn't been too packed lately and have been able to finish a round in 3-3.5 hrs . Staff is great and they have a driving range (bag of balls are pretty cheap I think $5 for about 50) and an area to practice chipping and putting. This is my new home course for sure read more

Even if you have never played golf before, do not waste your time with this course. I understand it's cheap, but it's in HORRIBLE condition. Good for all levels? The course is only 5200 yards and several holes are under construction so they have you hitting to a make-shift green in the middle of the fairway. The par 4's are all 300 yards, hole 9 is a 385 yard par 5, and there are 5 par 3's on the back nine, complete joke of a golf course. It's also crammed into a tiny space and the guy I played with actually hit another golfer, nearly killed the guy! and we almost got hit several times on the next hole. Not to mention the cart fee you pay is to share a cart with someone else. WTF? The course was way overbooked, you're not allowed to play as a single and the staff are incredibly rude. I don't understand how this place gets such good reviews, it's a complete goat track. read more

My buddy and I are totally new to golf and we decided to go hit some balls on this wonderfully SoCal-like Florida day. We did OK-ish and there may be hope for us. We liked Winter Pines for several reasons... First, the place is well kept and the driving range is pretty great with plenty of mats to hit off. Second, the staff and patrons were really nice and it had a very welcoming attitude even to us total noobs - there was no pretentiousness whatsoever. Third, the 19th hole while small, is very affordable and makes good $3 mixed drinks and cheap buckets which were being enjoyed by many on the patio overlooking the driving and putting areas. I love that you can get a drink and bring it to the driving range (it's right next to the clubhouse). Forth, it's not expensive at all - less than $5 for 50 balls and they even let us borrow clubs (told you we were new!) The rates for rounds with a cart are also pretty cheap we saw in the $20 range. We hung around after chatting with the regulars and this is a great place to learn to play golf as it's not a difficult course and isn't super busy off hours. Calling tomorrow to set up some lessons and will make this my "golf home" while I learn the basics of this sport. I gave it a four because of our experience and I don't think it's a 5 star course, but what do I know? We had a five star day! :) read more
