I had an outstanding experience at Forestville Auto Service. I had such a great experience here - I originally went in for transmission work after another shop told me I needed that work done, Forestville Auto Service took the time to thoroughly check everything for me. Found out that the transmission coolant lines were leaking. Not only did they explain things clearly, but he was also honest and reassuring -- he let me know that the the transmission lines were loose and did not need to be replaced. That saved me a lot of money. That kind of transparency is rare and very appreciated. What really stood out to me was his integrity. He didn't try to upsell me or push unnecessary repairs. It's hard to find a mechanic you can trust, and this experience gave me a lot of confidence in coming back here for future maintenance. I took my car in for a vehicle inspection, they said my my fog lights were out, well that evening went out to my car and my fog lights were functioning properly. They were just trying to get over on me. This was just a safety inspection and I wasn't about to let them do unnecessary work for a vehicle still under warranty and had just passed inspection in VA. Racists business definitely the worst .You can tell it's family run they pick and choose who they deal with . That's the luxury that come with when you own your business. They survive off the low income area they serve that need local services. I went there to get a state repair order for a visual window tint removal and verified that tint is removed and was told it's a four hour wait and he looking and the window as we are talking sad . read more

DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE , I GOT SIMPLE WORK DONE. FUEL PUMP AND BRAKES DONE. I already knew my cluster was broke .. THEY WENT AND DID A WIRE TEST , with out asking . (THAT REQUIRES TO GO UNDER THE HOOD) They lied and said they didn't go under the hood .. They then broke my hose underneath the hood and tried to tape it back ... Leaking out all my antifreeze and say they never went under the hood.. So I took it back they half ass fix it . They didn't buy a brand new piece, so unfortunately the antifreeze is still spitting out smh. i had already spend 600 $ with them and now my car is not working due to them , when I went to get something totally diff fixed. The shop was recommended to me by my sister in law's husband. I need some work done to my car, I provided them with the part and they installed a oil pressure sensor to my car. A day later I noticed that they engine light came back on, but I figured it will go off and it did. Sometimes it would come on and go off. I have a very busy schedule and I no longer live in the PG county area. It's been a couple month but I figured I paid for the work to get done all I ask if you take a look and see what's doing on with it since they've installed the part to my car. I spoked to Mark and ask can they take a look and see what going on with the car. Why is the engine light keep returning. Mark replied and said we can take a look at your car but we'll need 100 to look at it. I'm shocked, I asked Mark why do I have to pay you to look at my car when I've already paid you to fix it? I know it's been a little bit time that since I've been back to the shop. I miss place my paperwork, but I'm pretty sure that they should have a record of my car and the service that his shop provided. The young ladies that work in the retail side of shop are very professional and welcoming when you enter into the establishment. Mark is different story, I'm pretty sure he's a okay guy. Far as customer service and how he do business with previous customers is very questionable to me. I am not paying you any money for you to look at a problem that I already paid you fix. They car probably needs to be reset or doesn't sense that the sensors been fix. I took it to other shop and used they computer to see what the problem is and still says the same thing, oil pressure sensor. If I pay for something else to fix the problem cool but I'm paying for the same thing twice. I didn't like how Mark handle it. So I will not be returning back to that shop to get anymore work done. read more

This place is the worst the mechanics are incompetent the manager is rude and think he scares people but you say something back to him he wants to put you out the shop. I had them replace my window motor they installed it backwards up goes down and down goes up they told me they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my ac and it was just the ac switch gone bad. Never Never take your car here oh and the way they put my wire back in my door caused it to be sliced by the window. Terrible Terrible!!! read more

I've been a loyal customer for over 7 years. I won't allow another mechanic to touch it! I increased my AAA plan so in the event something does happen, they will be able to tow it there at no additional cost (up to 200 miles). Extremely fair and definitely reliable and respectable. I wish I could give more stars. I've referred folks to them and they've had the same impeccable service and experience. read more

Parts listed & charged for not installed! Main part of repair done correctly but different part of radiator now leaks!

My experience was terrible! I found this place from a list of locations in order to do the state inspection for my vehicle. It was the closest and most convenient so I decided to give it a try. Staff wasn't very friendly, and the car's initial critiques were so petty that it lead me to believe the mechanics just WANTED to find anything wrong so that they could charge a reinspection fee. Fixed every issue with NEW pieces and a great mechanic and upon reinspection, Forestville said one of the VISIBLE issues were still unfixed. Mechanic was reluctant to SHOW me the issue he was referring to, statements were very vague. Petty. After going to three other mechanics, they were unable to see the issue he referred to. I would have had no problem fixing the issue, if there really was one, but the mechanic tells me he'll charge me again to inspect the visual issue. If you read the MVA site, a location shouldn't do this. I won't give them another penny. Bunch of scammers. Will absolutely never come back. read more

It's a nice spot, relatively speaking. Looks like a family run spot. You'll get quality work. But for a shop to be in an urban demographic it's ran by an all white staff. No problem with that. Be prepared for "Suttle" racism / or attitude toward the black community that patronize their business. Now if you just want your vehicle worked on and ignore customer service then maybe this your spot. I just believe you owe a customer a full experience when they patronize your business. read more
