We had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Tungsten. Dr. Elisa and Crystal were absolutely amazing. They are the sweetest, most compassionate people you'll ever meet. The care they gave him and us was extraordinary. Such a hard thing, but made easier by the way they took care of things. We've been so sad but know we did the very best we could for our boy.

My sweet 12 year old pitbull was diagnosed with liver failure, cancer and pancreatitis. We did everything we could to keep her comfortable. We knew it was her time and was struggling with this decision. We found Forever Companion online and went through their online appointment for at home euthanasia and it was extremely easy. They listed everything from care to pricing without having to call. Once completed, we called to make sure everything was scheduled and their staff was so empathetic to our needs and extremely patient and answered any question we had. During the appointment they made sure our Nalah was comfortable as well as us. They didn't rush the process, they gave us as much time as we needed and they were very respectful. They wanted to hear about Nalah and it wasn't just a business transaction. It was one of the hardest days of my life, but Forever Companion made it easier knowing she was cared for in her last moments. I would highly recommend.

It was time to say goodbye to our family member (Spyra the Cat) of 15 years. Spyra hated car rides and hated to go to the vet. So we didn't want to do that to her one last time. That's when we found Forever Companion. They could not have been nicer and more compassionate people to help us with this necessary task. Every last detail was professionally and compassionately done. I highly recommend them.

We had a 16 1/2 year old Yorkie that needed help to pass. The compassion and care from the gals at Forever Companion helped us so much. Very grateful for them.

I never felt rushed they explained and answered all my questions there was one question that I asked that the lady that answered was not sure how to answer me. She wanted to give me a soft answer, but I point blank asked her or these two things OK to do. She kind of chuckled and said oh my gosh, thank you I didn't know how to tell you those things. The day finally arrived that we had to make the final decision to send Sammy to the next realm, Dr. Green was the one who was assigned to us. The day that Sammey left. She called to go over the procedures again with us when she arrived at our house. I asked her if she could, please do it outside under his favorite tree. She was more than happy to go out there with us. Sammy was already in a state of peace the whole process without going into detail was gentle and kind. She also gave us time as much as we needed at the end to say our goodbyes. She lovingly wrapped him up in a blanket and put him in a basket. She even gave us a poem about saying goodbye to your cat. My husband carried him out to her car. We were told it would take 3 to 5 days to get it back, but we actually got him back way sooner. I arrived at their location and they brought Sammy out in a beautiful box. If you have to go through this process Heart's Companion was great. We also opted to get his paw print done that takes about seven days or so to get back. It's a beautiful memorial for your pet as traumatic as this all can be. I give a 2 star rating since the gal at the front desk and the assistant were both lovely girls and know how to treat customers. Sawyers ears were very dirty so the doctor wanted to take a look but alas the other doctor was gone and took the tool with her and asked if I would consider leaving my dog there for 2 hours to waits for the other doctor to reappear. Ummm that would be a hard No. I was surprised that they even asked me that. I don't know any of you! Seriously?!? The reason for todays visit was my dog had a red rash in his nether regions and I was beginning to worry since I first noticed it 2 days ago. My appointment was at 2:30 and that is when I arrived. She mentioned she might want to do $250.00 worth of blood work, um that's a hard no. The initial visit was $75 and then another $50 for I don't know why... During the exam, the veterinarian told me they felt a concerning mass in his abdomen and immediately started talking about expensive testing that would cost thousands of dollars. I told them I needed to talk it over with my wife first and asked about financing options. That's when the conversation went completely off the rails. Before a single X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, or any other diagnostic test had been done, they started talking about euthanasia. Not as a worst-case scenario after testing. Not if a diagnosis came back confirming something terminal. Right then and there. I was told my cat was likely in significant pain because of this suspected mass and that if we couldn't afford the testing and treatment, putting him down was something we should seriously consider. I was honestly stunned. How do you go from "I think I feel something" during a physical exam to talking about euthanizing someone's pet when you haven't even confirmed that there's actually a problem? I left that appointment upset and decided to get a second opinion. The second veterinarian was shocked when I told them what had happened. They did bloodwork, X-rays, and an ultrasound and found no abdominal mass whatsoever. None. In fact, they even joked that whatever was felt during the first exam may have simply been a buildup of feces or something similar. Other than the hyperthyroidism my cat was already being treated for, they found absolutely nothing that suggested he was suffering from a serious condition or living in severe pain. That's the part that still makes me angry. I understand that vets aren't perfect and mistakes happen. What I don't understand is why euthanasia was even part of the conversation before any testing had been done. That's not a small thing to bring up. You're talking about somebody's family member. You don't start talking about putting an animal down based on a guess. To me, it felt like fear was being used to push us toward thousands of dollars of testing. Maybe that's not what they intended, but that's exactly how it came across. When you're telling someone their pet may be suffering, may have a serious mass, and may need to be euthanized, people panic. That's exactly what happened to us. My wife and I spent days worried sick over something that turned out not to exist. What makes this even more disappointing is that we were already clients and had been bringing our two dogs there as well. After this experience, we'll never bring any of our animals back. If your pet receives a serious diagnosis here, get a second opinion before making any major decisions. In our case, that second opinion completely changed the story and probably saved us from spending thousands of dollars chasing a problem that wasn't even there.

I'm incredibly sad and disappointed to write this review, but after our recent…read moreexperiences--starting in June 2024--I can no longer recommend VCA Feline Medical Center. Over the years, we've entrusted VCA with the care of our four cats. Dr. Flemming has been our go-to veterinarian, and I have always considered him exceptional. He has provided care to two of our cats through senior and end-of-life periods, care for our adopted boy who unexpectedly passed in an accident, and most recently cared for our kitten, Walter. From routine exams, vaccines, and prescription diets to neutering, chronic condition management, and even end-of-life services, VCA Feline Medical Center has historically been our vet of choice. Kelly, the office manager, is kind, patient, and genuinely caring. She has helped us through stressful situations, checked in with us after hours when our cats were sick, and always found a way to squeeze us in for urgent visits. I'm truly sad to part ways with her in this context because she is so wonderful. Kelly, I personally want to thank you for all you have done for us and our kitties over the years. In the past year, VCA has made changes that have drastically impacted the level of care provided and their compassion for cats. The vets no longer conduct exams in the exam room, and vet techs no longer administer vaccines or perform services in the exam room or in front of the pet owner. Walter, who has been visiting VCA since he was 3 months old without prior issue, suddenly became extremely anxious and stressed by going to the vet, and was labeled a "bad cat" by VCA. At our last visit, in January 2025, my husband asked to accompany Walter when the vet tech took him out of the exam room. The staff refused. He then requested that the vet techs come to the exam room to administer the vaccines so Dustin could hold Walter or at least be in the same room as Walter to provide comfort. Again, they refused, citing hospital policy. Walter's and my husband's experience was so traumatic that VCA didn't even complete his annual exam. Shocked by what happened, I called his boarding and grooming facility, the Cozy Cattery, to see if they had experienced similar behavioral issues with Walter. They hadn't. There was nothing in his file indicating he was difficult, a bad cat, or had displayed anxious or bad behavior. Because VCA failed to complete his exam, Walter was sent home without treatment for his cat acne. We took him to a new vet, and the experience was completely different... for Walter and us. The new vet conducted the exam with us present, interacted with Walter without any problems, and handled him with care. Walter was completely calm--no fear, no stress, no issues. The last two times we took Walter to VCA, he was so scared and anxious that he pooped himself while being handled by the vet techs. The poop was mashed into his fur due to the way he was handled. And I don't mean a little bit of poop and a little bit in his fur... I mean the poop was so mashed into his fur that we had to bathe him in the sink and work the poop out over multiple washings. This was not a scenario where he just "sat" in it. Not only did the staff not inform us, but they also stuffed Walter back into his carrier without cleaning him up. Additionally, in June 2024, we took Walter to VCA for observation after a bee sting triggered what we thought might be an allergic reaction. VCA left Walter in his carrier for over four hours without food, water, or a bathroom. I doubt anyone even opened his carrier, let alone "observed him." Walter came home covered in poop and we paid a very expensive vet bill for nothing. VCA Feline Medical Center used to be a place we trusted wholeheartedly, but their new approach no longer balances the safety of staff with the well-being of the cats in their care. This is a feline-specific vet clinic, yet there's a disconnect between the treatment and care of cats and the staff administering those services. If a cat is upset and stressed, it makes no sense to remove them from the comfort and care of their human. The staff and hospital policy acts like these domesticated family pets are wild and dangerous animals. If the vets and techs are scared of being scratched or bitten by a cat then they probably should wear protective gear or consider a different profession. There are better vet options where your pet will be treated with the respect and compassion they deserve.
