Lily is such a wonderful artist to work with. I found Lily through yelp and we communicated through email prior to my wedding. I didn't really want to do a makeup trial because I was only doing a simple City Hall Wedding. I was so pleased/relieved that Lily did not pressure me to do a trial and just told me to email her the hair & makeup styles that I liked. I was really impressed with how quickly Lily responded to my emails (I had quite a few questions and even had to change my appointment time). On the day of my wedding, my mom and I went to her studio to get my makeup done. Lily's studio has a bathroom & an area to change, just in case you need to change into your dress and head directly to your wedding (which I thought I would have to do, but Lily finished my makeup/hair earlier than expected). My mom had no idea what type of makeup style she wanted, so she just let Lily decide. My mom was very happy with the result. With something semi-permanent, the right shape really matters. She checked to make sure I was okay with the pain during the tattoo and microblading, taking breaks when I needed. Lily was truly fantastic! I needed my hair done to accommodate both the western and vietnamese outfits. I did a trial with her several months before the wedding. I had no idea what kind of look that I wanted nor hair style. I just wanted a natural look and she pulled it off so well. She helped me explore different looks to get me to think outside the box- heavier eyeliner for example. For my wedding she came over that morning and was very easy going and relaxed as she did hair and make up for my two bridesmaids and then me. I had my hair and make up trial 2 weeks before my wedding so on my trial day I meant to bring a picture of how I want my hair and make up but for some reason, I forgot to bring it. So I told her that she can play around with colors and find out what would look good on me and so she did. Where do I start?! I've been searching for a fantastic makeup and hair artist for my upcoming wedding in October. Lily is an amazing make-up artist and hairstylist. She's very talented, friendly, and nice.

This is about the wedding hair and makeup trial. Her studio was super dark and I couldn't tell how bad it was until I got home. My hair was super big because she teased it way too much. I mentioned it but she said it should be that big since I am wearing a headband but my friends and family made fun of it saying I look like I'm wearing a helmet. Literally, it felt like I had some sort of sponge inside of my hair and it won't go down. But this isn't actually bad part. Worst part was washing. Since she teased it way too much that my hair was super tangled. I tried to untangle but I couldn't. So next day, I had to go to a professional salon to get a hair treatment to untangle all my hair which was $150. As far as for the makeup, I don't think she doesn't know what she's doing. I specifically showed her what kind of makeup I wanted but for some reason, she put darker foundation on me so I looked darker than my actual skin that it made me look like women in 40's. And she made my skin so dry that makeup was making wrinkles that I don't have. Makeup cracked by smile lines, under eyes, and even forehead. Horrible makeup skill. It's hard to make women look older than her age with makeup but it was possible. She took picture of me and it looked a lot better in photo. In person, it was big NO. I do not recommend her if you want to look young and modern for your wedding. But again, this is my personal preference and some might like her. I guess I am just bitter that I had to pay $200 for that horrible makeup and hair and also, I've waited over a month (contacted during April and had trial in July) till her vacation to end since I thought she would be perfect but that was a huge mistake. She also forgot to contact me when she got back so I was already not happy before the trial. So my trial finally happened in July. I think she cannot give you exactly what you want but rather, do same makeup style over and over for everyone. And her style is definitely not young, modern look. She was quick to respond to our requests and was cordial. She showed up on the day of, with her tools and equipment. She came prepared. I scheduled an appointment trial with her for hair at the time. After my trial with hair, I decided that I wanted her to do my make up as well and she did not charge me extra to have another additional hair trial when I went in for my make up :). She is very accommodating and will really listen to what you want. I do not wear a great deal of make up and am not use to foundation so letting her understand that, she put enough to give me great coverage throughout my wedding day but not enough to make me feel cakey or heavy. I found Lily through my photographer (Studio Dizon) and checked her out in Yelp. I checked out all the pics of the other brides posted and I really liked how their makeup looked so I contacted her if she was available. Most of our communications were through emails since I was traveling a lot for work and mostly out of the country. It was so easy working with her and she was so patient with my questions and providing with details. I did a trial and it went really well. She was very personable and I felt very comfortable with her. I recommend doing the trial if you can since you start building a relationship and it becomes so much better during the wedding day. It's like hanging out with your friends. So during the planning, I was worried that I may need her for touch up before the reception (since my hair goes flat fast and worried that makeup will be faded by reception) so she gave me the option to go to the venue if needed. On the day of the wedding, she arrived on time. She brought an assistant to help with my bridesmaids. I actually changed my mind on how I wanted my hair to look like. I showed her what I wanted and she was able to make it work with the hair piece that my aunt gave me unexpectedly to use for the wedding. As you can see on the attached pictures, we had so much fun. It's good that if the person who does your hair and makeup has great hair and makeup. She looked very presentable and made our pictures really beautiful. She gave me extra makeup enough for touch up for blush and lips. I actually did not need her to come to the venue since everything held up well for the reception even after hours of being out for photo shoots. One of my bridesmaid did not like how she looked with the makeup by Lily's assistant, which was fine since we all have to like how we look :). Lily had time to fix her makeup and she loved it. I loved her work. My sister , the maid of honor, looked fantastic. Lily really listened to her and gave her a beautiful look that she appreciated. My hair lasted throughout the ceremony and needed a bit of pinning during our photo shoot. All in all, I felt like a disney princess the day of my wedding. I'm sorry I didn't write my review sooner, but I had to take a break after my wedding in August of this year. I was new to the area and had no clue about where to find a makeup artist. I think I found Lily on a wedding board where she came highly recommended. I had gotten a few recommendations from other friends for other makeup artists, but Lily's makeup looked more natural. I made an appt for a trial with her. I even had to bring my future stepson with me and she was very patient and even interacted with him so he wouldn't be so bored. The trial made me look glamorous, but still natural, and it looked great in pics. I didn't even have to book trials with other artists. It was a little pricey, but most of the wedding vendors are and I really didn't get to compare it to others. Lily did respond quickly to my emails and listened to my concerns. I even changed a few things from my trial for the day of. She said no problem and asked me to bring a pic of what I wanted. The day of the wedding, she was on time, if not early. I was actually running a little behind. She took care of my bridesmaids first since I asked her to. My bridesmaids were so happy with the results and I thought they looked beautiful. Some even posted they're pics on facebook and received a lot of compliments. One guest even asked Lily to do her hair when she saw how great the other girls looked. As for me, I really wanted to look more natural since my husband likes me the way I am and didn't want me to look too different. She totally did what I wanted and my husband loved it. I have got some make up artist from my friend but i like her work the most coz it is natural and more suitable with me. I had a trial with her first and she is on time,patient, nice, always willing to listen to what i want the most. OMG LILY, I don't have enough words for her. She is simply amazing. My hair and make up turned out amazing for my wedding. I am refering her to all my friends getting married and what not.
