I saw BellaMe Wax & Lash on Yelp and wanted to give Ms. Tamika a try. I messaged through the yelp app and was able to get a same day appointment. Although I knew where the address was, I still got lost. I didn't realize that BellaMe was in a salon complex! It's next to Moneky Joes and the facility holds several independent beauty artists. Anyway, I found Ms. Tamika and she got to work on my eyebrows! I have super thick eyebrows that left unchecked, become furry caterpillars. But once done, they make my face! Ms. Tamika made my eyebrows look amazing!! I couldn't stop smiling at how good they looked! She took her time with angling, waxing, and trimming my eyebrows. Plus we talked the entire appointment and it wasn't awkward at all! Clearly y'all, she won me over! We received pricing and we booked for our initial treatment appt with their help for $400. On our initial treatment with Ashleye, they said they could not proceed with treatment and also gave double the price of $800 if we wanted to get it done. In summary: -our initial consult provided us misinformation of treatment and price. -we couldn't get treatment even though they told us we could. This is an inconvenience to us since we had to coordinate work schedules to make this appt work. -they didn't offer any discount or credit for the misinformation or inconvenience. It really takes a lot to do the first step to correct acne scars and it sucks that we got misinformation on treatment and pricing. We were looking forward to taking the first step to clearer skin but feel the lack on consistency between the workers means we are not getting the best service or treatment plans. It's like if you went to doctor and they scheduled you for surgery, then the day of your surgery they said they can not do it and said it would be double the price. I showed up at 4 pm at the salon. I called and called and the door is locked. No one. I get a text back saying I should not have used the website and should have called her directly. Well clearly she doesn't pick up all the time. Not picking up once now either. She said she was busy running errands than said she was at the doctors. She texted me saying sorry for the inconvenience and that I should only text her and call, not use website. Now how is a new client supposed to know not to use that site? She then said she checked her appointment this morning and nothing showed up so she was free. That's fine. Most other salons do as well. You have to prepare to go to a wax salon. Shower and clean up and it takes time. Which for me, means taking half a day off when you work downtown. Well she is making it seem like I should have known not to use the appointment website. This was my first experience and my last. She may be good at waxing, but she is not the only one. I prefer to have my time respected especially since I'm paying. We were strategically planning which booths to visit AFTER we enjoyed complimentary bites! This is where I went wrong... AHN was the only Brow/ Makeup booth. The event was from 7- 10pm. I waited in line for an hour & fifteen minutes. And my turn came at 9:30pm. Now, let me give you a rundown on my caterpillars. I had microblading done literally one year ago. And, as we know- this is not a permanent treatment. My blading strokes were fading. Since I knew there was a brow booth for Ladies Night- I didn't bother to do jack shit to my brows. I could've easily been mistaken for the Yeti's cousin. When it's my turn, I lay down on AHN's table & she adjusts her light to take a look at my brows. She asks politely, "What's goin on here?" I give her the rundown of my microblading & how I don't bother getting them waxed at the nail salons- because they usually end up having my brows look like a chola. We laugh about our chola days. She commented how the microblading gave my brows a different shape than what she'd think would look. I tell AHN, I'm open to suggestions.
