Came here on a hot day during the last heat wave, because I was suckered in by the yelp ad offering a free first tan. I love tans, especially free ones, so I was quick to convince my roommate the trek to newton highlands-ville-corner-centre (this place was really somehow between all of them) was worth it. We had a feeling going into it that we'd be offered a free tan on a level one bed of sorts, but I still tried to push for a higher-level option. The guy wasn't buying it. At least there weren't any hidden gimmics (like a required lotion or goggles purchase)-- just 50 cents for wink-ease, which we skillfully avoided, explaining we brought literally no cash since this tan should be free. The owner was accommodating (he'd better be, though, since we walked up to the building to find him smoking a cigarette out front) and showed us his state of the art tanning equipment from 1972 (est.). One thing I found odd were the visible exhaust pipes. I was also moderately uncomfortable abut how the doors to each tanning room were slats that the owner or whoever was working could easily see through while you were changing. (He walked past my door a few times to turn on beds and whatnot, and I definitely felt a little awkward.) I also felt awkward when, after I'd left and was waiting for my roommate in the downstairs lobby, this guy asked him to make sure we left him a good review on Yelp for our visit. If you gotta ask, my friend, you're asking for a brutally honest review of your outdated and overpriced establishment. read more

I did the rapid dry spary tan package leading up to my wedding (set of 3 was perfect bc I did a trial, bachelorette and wedding) and she was so thorough and provides amazing service. She spent a long time talking to me about what I wanted the tan to look like, took notes and recommended tweaks to inprove the look at each session and made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommend! I was in several weddings this summer and decided to give spray tanning a shot since I'm as pale as a ghost. First I did some research and found Forever Tan to be the most affordable place to try. I figured since they are in Newton the quality must be great. I did my first trial run with Bruna and she was wonderful. I told her I did not want to look too fake or too dark and she listened to my concerns and helped me pick out a color that would go well with my skin tone. I prefer to spray later in the day that way I can just leave it on overnight, I have never had any issues booking an appointment and they are always flexible in case something comes up with my busy schedule. I have ran a few minutes late on several occasions and when I call they are never annoyed and always friendly over the phone. I can totally appreciate the great customer service and would recommend their services to anyone nervous about getting a spray tan for the first time. I went here for a spray tan and was pretty pleased. It's in a little strip mall...all the way on the right hand side, near the road, and up some stairs. The place was bright and clean and while I did wait about 20 minutes past my scheduled time slot, the trash mags kept me busy. They use the 'Mystic Tan' machine, but with 'California Tan' solution, b/c it's 'better'. Well my friends this was the best spray tan I've ever gotten. Made an appointment online for an airbrush tan. I was given a living social voucher as a gift. The booking process was super simple and convenient. They send Emails to confirm the request and remind you of apt time. I went in on a Friday afternoon. Very clean and comfortable space. They have newer and really nice UV tanning machines. Stand up or beds. The staff is friendly and explained the entire process. The airbrush I got is amazing. The color shade is perfect. I also opted for the $10 prep pre spray and it was well worth it. There is nothing I can say about Forever Tan except LEGENDARY!!!! The hospitality at this location by Bruna and Nicole is exceptional!!! The salon itself is absolutely spotless and the team there is just so accommodating to your every need. I have witnessed the staff listening to their clients, showing extreme care and doing whatever it takes to retain a client. Now to me that is LEGENDARY all around. Their prices are reasonable but for someone who has been around the tanning circuit, there is no better place to get a tan for the expectations and results. I called to see if there was anything that could be done. The manager, super nice, extended my expiration to allow me to not lose the money on my expired visits. No one does that. This place is under new management , and is now beautiful clean and nicely decorated. The previous owner was letting the place slide, and the new manager has done a lot of work to make the place look a million times better. As far as prices, prices are competitive with other places around the area . Parking is convenient and free, the hours are more convenient and longer now. Its a great place to tan and the guy seem really nice. A while ago, my GF said the mystic tans were watered down but I don't do them. The equipment is in excellent condition an seems fine. I'm a big fan of this salon. I bought a package of 10 tans -- I'm looking to tan up before my wedding in July. I've been 5 times now and am getting many compliments on my color. I love the beds, the place is really clean, the guy is nice, they play fun music, it seems pretty affordable to me (for Newton anyway), it also has a big parking lot and is close to where I work. When I showed up for my appointment they told me they were running 20 minutes behind. I have kids I needed to get home for, so this was no good. No phone call to alert me either. Then they told me they'd try to fit me in earlier and to have a seat. I guess the airbrush machine broke or something because Fifteen minutes later I was still sitting there. I left eventually. Everyone is very pleasant, especially the owner's sister who works the counter, and everything is very clean. The only couple times I've went I haven't had the best experience. I pay well to go tanning and my last experience I went and paid over 50 to go in a bed before a wedding I had. I specifically wanted something that will help my face get tan and the beds main face lamp did not work and after asking someone about it there was no accommodation or anything given to me. Having recently moved to Newton this was my first and last visit to tan here. Understaffed, spent 15 minutes waiting at the front desk alone before a woman finally came out to help me. The price was reasonable and the tan came out fine but my bed was not sanitized properly and being a non smoker the place had an ashtray smell to it. Do NOT waste your time going here! GO elsewhere!!! I used to go here before the guy who currently owns this place bought it. When the new owner bought the place and "renovated it" things went down hill. At first everything was fine but then he started changing his pricing on a WEEKLY basis. I payed $60 for an "unlimited" month and got YELLED at by him because I tanned to often. I went about 2-3 times a week. Either way...this was supposed to be unlimited and I could have come every single day if I wanted to. During the month I was there I saw the pricing change weekly. At the time that I would have bought another month the prices were insane. He wanted $60 for an "unlimited" month...HOWEVER the $60 was ONLY the memebership for the month which included NOTHING. From there you had to pay every single time you went in and tanned. If I tanned 12 times in a month under his this pricing...I would have spend over $150 for a month of tanning on OUT DATED beds. The owner complained to me about how expensive the bulbs were and how he was always changed them when the max hours had been used on them and how no other salon does that. I told him there was no way that I would find this elsewhere. He also told me how he had done his research about the tanning places in the area and how his was so much better then all of the other places and he offered a much better deal. This however is so not true. Even though the location was convenient for me I got tired of the pricing changing on a weekly basis and the bright colors and broken fans that he claimed to have "fixed" all the time got really annoying. I told the owner I was never coming back. The owner is rude. This place is overpriced and outdated. They claim to have "different levels of beds"...however this is a crock because you have a few standups and a few old school low level beds. Do not even waste your time or money on this place. I recently got an e-mail from Forever tan offering me a "Great Summer Deal" How is 6 weeks of tanning for $99 in super old school beds with an owner who will flip out on you for tanning to much a deal? read more

Clean, comfortable salon. Went for a versa spray before a wedding. The girl at the desk was very nice and very knowledgable about the process. Only downfall is the prices. I do VersaSpa before every wedding/ event, I'm not big on booth and I try to stay out of the sun to be good to my skin. That being said, this is by far the most expensive versa I've ever gotten, by about $15 dollars, and that's with $5 off. If I could've driven to my normal place, I would have, but I was on a time crunch. Wouldn't go back for the cost alone, but the experience and results were great. read more
