I've been tanning at Glow on and off for (10?) years. Parking is easy, staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable. There are no hard sells but they're happy to provide info on upgrades if desired. The place hasn't changed much in all this time. It was always a premium experience and it's been well maintained through the years. The equipment is still top shelf and ALWAYS super clean. Every so often they may have a few bulbs out in popular units but that's pretty standard for tanning salons, no complaints. I'm not a "power user" but I'm experienced enough to know they have the beds and stand up to satisfy any need with reasonable pricing. You won't be disappointed! read more

Went in for my first time today and was very impressed! I decided to go 12 minutes in the level 4 bed as I already have a medium skin tone. I could see a difference immediately after exiting the bed. This place has undergone a lot of changes. It used to be the tanning salon on Main St. next to Gordon's liquors under a different name. They since moved to the Waverly Oaks location. The store had their Grand Re-Opening under new management, I believe the new manager is Erica. Tony has moved to another location and starting up another store. All the owners and franchisers are very nice here. The staff are super friendly. They are always offering some sort of promotion or other. When I was driving through, I had actually been thinking I need to start tanning again, and much to my surprise, they were having their grand re-opening and offering free tans that day. Bonus! I didn't have to use one of my sessions on my package, and on top of that, you could choose any level you want for the free tan, except the Mist which would be $15. I've been going to GLOW for about a year now, off and on again, this place is always clean. The equipment is regularly maintained. The price is right. The lotion choices are much better than you would get anywhere else, and if they don't have your lotion, you can have them order it for you. There's never really a wait. Oh yeh and with their equipment, you don't need to worry about going several times a week to get your tan instantly, like some of the other salons with lower bulbs. Oh and here's your guidline: Level 1: More Reddening & a some Browning Rays - you don't wanna do this if you're just starting off otherwise you WILL get burned Level 2: Even amount of Reddening vs. Browning Rays - great for beginners and continuing tanners Level 3: More Browning Rays, less Reddening rays - best for continuing tanners Level 4: Only Browning Rays - no Reddening Rays - ONLY for continuing tanners - if you don't have a tan, this will not do anything for you, you will remain WHITE no matter how many times you do this. *** Note: The key to this is if you're just starting off you will need a combination of browning and reddening rays (UVA/UVB), in order to get a base tan. This is a nice clean tanning salon but their prices are pretty high compared to other places and they literally never answer the phone so if you're looking for a place you can call with questions this definitely isn't it. I love this place. I am new to the Watertown area, and with winter here, I was craving a bronzey tan. The place is very clean and staff are super friendly. They all greet you right away when you enter, and say "bye" when you are leaving. They also take the time to explain the different levels and show you how to work the beds/booths - as some are different than others. It is a little pricey (compared to Hollywood Tans where I used to go) but overall, the price is worth it, you definitely get what you pay for. The beds are great, I got the level 4 package which means I can use any of the different level beds. I also like that you don't get too hot. Previous places I have tried tanning at wouldn't work for me because I'd come out feeling too sweaty and hot...yuck! This place keeps you cool, its very relaxing. I was craving a nice 12 minutes in an incubator last Sunday so I ventured down to Glow. the place is very clean and the woman working the front desk was cheery and very helpful. I asked about their S-Class bed, which turns out to be a level 3 bed with level 4 face lamps. Great! If I went level 1 on my first session I would have ended up with purple blistering skin. Instead, I have a great base tan that I can't wait to improve upon when I go back! ALSO! For the month of January, two of their specials are 50% off single visits, and 30% off unlimited packages, both on Sundays. Take them up on it, you won't regret it! read more

They take their time with each customer to ensure their questions are answered and their needs are met. Whether you need help picking out a lotion or you simply don't know how to work a stand up bed - the staff is eager to help (judgment free). I went to Glow for a spray tan on Saturday and couldn't have asked for a better experience! I made the appointment in advance, when I got there I was taken immediately. The salon was very clean and they had a lot of lotions and protective wear to choose from. The staff was very helpful. They explained everything that was going to happen during the spray tan process and let me ask many questions. They did an amazing job. It's days later and I still have my tan (which was not orange and didn't have any streaks.) I loved it so much that I made more appointments! I'd recommend this place to everyone! read more

I want to take a moment to praise the staff at Glow Tanning Center - Waltham. I am a typical pale goth chick and definitely not tanning because I want to tan. I'm doing it due to a severe skin condition. The UV rays from the beds, in small doses, actually help tremendously with skin ailments. I walked in expecting to feel unwelcome and to have to spend an hour explaining my situation but instead I was welcomed warmly and the girl knew sooo much about my condition and what settings worked best for it. Another time I forgot my eye protection and she gave me some for free. I'm pleased to say that after a few weeks of treatment my painful rash is almost gone so sadly I won't be there as much. But I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for UV treatment or even just to tan. read more

Individual sessions are pricey but packages are a good deal sometimes. I liked doing the EFT since it's only $20 for a level 1 with unlimited sessions. They just charge your card automatically every month. Glow is very clean and the service is good. It can get very busy so there is often a short wait. read more

I just went to this place because it was close and now would drive half way across the state to come here. The staff is amazing- they show you the entire place, ask you what your looking for, answer any questions you have no matter how dumb they seem, and the people there are super nice and they are NOT salesman either! I visit this place regularly, since 1998! Almost 20 years. I tried some other places, but never found anything comparable in the area. I always do top tier UV-filtered bed/standup packages. Often they have good dicount on those. Never any issues, excellent color, easy service, super convenience. Very happy that they are around! read more

This is not my preferred tanning place - I love my downtown boston tanning salon but I'm not going to travel over an hour and pay the T to get there. That said, I still really enjoy going to Glow tan. Very clean, helpful staff, and decent prices. It's also right next to Know Fat and my new favorite hair salon, Jathar. read more

I must say, I like this place enough for a 5 star rating, but I'm really sick of going there on days/hours they are supposed to be open and they're not. Be prepared, Saturdays you may get a random "closed" sign on the door even though it's normal business hours. Not helpful for someone with a very tight schedule. read more

LOVE the owners Emily and Paul! They know their stuff and is always updated on the latest. I've been going to glow for over ten years (also formerly known as tanning 2000 on Main St next to Gordons). It's always clean. The ladies and Paul behind the desk always greet you when you walk in and always thanks you when you leave. New customers, your first visit may take a few extra minutes because the packages and products they offer is so huge. Not to worry, cause if your not sure they will help you figure it out. They also have spray tans which I'm yet to try. I can't say enough great things on this place so just stop by and try one of their amazing machines. Off to get a tan! read more

The prices here are a bit higher than the tanning beds some places but are totally worth the extra money (which is not a lot). The staff is friendly and and knows all about eh tanning process. The do not try to use the most expensive beds, instead explainig how to gradually build up.. They do oofer packages and student discoutns. But he bnest part is the beds are definitly state of teh art. I love the feeling I get from the light, it really helps with SAD. As an added bonus I leave with a healthy "GLOW" :) But for all you Jersey Shore fans ou there I could see how a very rich/dark color could be obtained if you are willing to commit to it. read more

Staff is always changing every time i go in there it's a new person who doesn't know much about the beds, levels, packages, etc. Lotion is ridiculously overpriced too! I would NOT recommend going to this location. read more
