The Spectrum 7 booth combines visible red light (for skin surface) and near-infrared light (for deeper tissue) to achieve a "360-degree" effect. Most tanning places their units ( if they even have them) typically stop at "near infra red" around 800 nanometers, but Nick goes to 11. That's 1050 nanometers! They call that "invisible" infrared, so you're just going to take the guys word for it! Nicks a great guy, who is forever in search for the newest and finest machines on the market. Top shelf! I LOVED the convenience of being able to jump out of the van straight back in to my car, and then hop onto the 93 home. It was awesome! I was going on a trip to Florida and opted for the "look like I've been there already for a few days" tan. I arrived early at the parking lot, and waited a few minutes for the technician to arrive. Once she arrived I signed some papers while she put the black out shades over the windows. It was a cooler day in April, so when I first got in the van it was chilly. She revved the heat up, but it was still slightly uncomfortable to disrobe and then get sprayed with the chilly solution. The color turned out ok. It was natural looking and even. I just didn't love it. In my opinion it felt a little like it had "yellow" undertones compared the brown/bronzy look I love. Looking back at the pictures, it looks good; and even my boyfriend really liked it (and he prefers me white). There was nothing wrong with it, and maybe I should have just gone for a deeper shade. Since then I have tried another tanning salon and ultimately had a better overall experience. It was more comfortable and I LOVED the final result. So in the end, Sun Tan Van was just OK for me. I would keep them in mind for the future, but they won't be my go-to.

Scheduling is easy, just click and search for the time you would like and I received a confirmation of my appointment quickly. There is a lot of free (2hr) parking right out front on Main St (and also the side streets) and she has a cute set-up with her tent and everything she needs to customize it for you. I never thought about undertones, but that factors in after deciding which shade you would like. I have a pool at my apartment building, but did this to save my skin from more damage while still being able to look like I am enjoying summer! The spray is nice and cool when it goes on, and I have the great, all-over and even color that I wanted! I went home wearing a very loose t-shirt dress (the bronzing solution washed right out) and relaxed until I could rinse off the solution. I barely noticed the smell, and I can't stand anything that has a strong/weird scent. I was excited after the cool shower (just a quick rinse, no soap!!), applied a lot of lotion before bed, woke up looking great and proudly showed off my tan the next day (without a smell!!).
