This is perhaps the best organized and overall nicest game store we've ever visited anywhere in the USA or Canada. Everything is displayed not only so that you can fully see the item and price, but also aesthetically pleasing. They have a very extensive set of items here and some really interesting ones, too. You can tell that these folks love what they do and that they are serious about their craft. We visited this store on a road trip. It's a little out of the way if you're traveling either the Northway or Thruway, but absolutely a place we'll return any time we're in the area. It is absolutely worth your drive. Great place! This store rules so hard! I love it. Easily my favorite game store ever. The guys are amazing and so helpful. They know every video game ever and are so willing to help you find what you're looking for. They go above and beyond. They will search for games and accessories that you are looking for, and they repair games for $3 if you get them somewhere else or you had them and they just need a tune up. I bought my boyfriend an original NES and a bunch of games for Christmas and they were awesome. Their rewards program is great, too. Always getting $5 coupons or buy 3 get 1 free deals! If you love video games from the far superior 80s and 90s, this is the place for you. Go now. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! Located in the whitest place outside of the capital region, I never feel out of place upon entering this store! Lol. The staff is always friendly and they always go above and beyond for me! Discounts when you sign up for their rewards program on top of the owner always willing to do what he can for you. That's how a business should be run. I am lucky to have found FORGOTTEN FRESHNESS. Most of my experience with Forgotten Freshness is from their vending at video game cons (Too Many Games video game con primarily). Which does not take away from how awesome they are! My wife and I have always found what we were looking for. Plus they are honest! Extremely. My wife was deciding between 2 games and the gentlemen that was helping her told her to go for the game that he hardly saw come in rather than push for the game that's fairly common but expensive. That's a company that knows their product and cares about the collector. Also if you have any troubles with a game they will go out of their way to solve it. They helped me with my copy of Dragon's Lair for Sega CD. I am now happily missing the video game cues naturally instead of the game freezing. I can guarantee that I will continue to shop with them. read more

This is my favorite used game shop in the area. The prices are definitely better than a place like Gamestop, and not only that, but the guy who owns the store is really informative, super helpful, and not at all snobby about video games... like some clerks tend to be at the major retail shops. I think he does a wonderful job with numerous things - For starters, as far as I'm aware, he pretty much opens every game cart and sees if it needs to be refurbished. I'm just going to assume he does the same with consoles as well. Just as an example, I believe he replaces the battery in Zelda NES carts as they come in. Also, if the condition of the packaging isn't pristine, the price is adjusted accordingly. Also, he really doesn't accept any newer console games - such as DS, 3DS, Wii, etc - unless they HAVE their packaging. This place cares about quality, customer service, and ensuring that their pricing is fair. What more could you possibly ask for? A bigger location... perhaps. But oh, they're moving into a bigger one as we speak. If you need any used games - especially retro - you owe it to yourself to become a patron of Forgotten Freshness. read more

Never going to get my games anywhere else. Bought a ps1 game from here and it didn't save properly. Called them and told them the situation and that I wasn't sure if it was the game or my memory card. Not only did they give me a new game, they also gave me a new memory card for free. read more

Frank & Henry are awesome. This store has such a good Magic the Gathering group and everyone is kind to beginners. Love that this is my LGS.

Best video game store ever. Specializes in rare and unique items. You can go in there and never know what goodies Frank might have behind the glass. Every game he that comes through his door is taken apart, cleaned and refurbished (if need be) and it shows, ive bought at least 100 video games from this guy and have never come home with a dud cart or an unplayable disc. The store reminds me of the shops from The Legend of Zelda series, y'know with all the essential items you need for your upcoming quest, the shop keeper's animation cycle making you feel truly welcome, and if you got the dough you can buy a something real special you wont find anywhere else like bombchus or double hookshot or Radiant Silvergun. The only minor gripe is the location. its about a 35 minute drive from Albany. I usually make it an event when i go. load up the car with friends and used videogames and head north. read more

Any gamer will learn upon visiting that this is the place for video games (especially retro) in the Capital Region. The owner takes good care of his games AND his customers.
