I drove over an hour with my friend in search of awesome retro video games to sink our teeth into and when we started the trip we found ourselves at jay street games located in the Crossgates mall and to our dismay the reviews on that store are far to accurate. However our hope not lost and with a great recommendation from a local we stumbled into mr Dealz. The first thing your greeted by is a warm welcome from two very friendly employees who were more than willing to help us find any game we sought after. Purchased some Nintendo Switch Joycons from here today (only place that had em locally). Got home and opened them, only to find that not only were they already used, but they were super beat up! The plastic part over the joystick was gone on both controllers and part of one was broken. So I called him and asked what was up w that. He had me drive all the way back over there, just to tell me that I must've done it and couldn't do anything about it. Just got home and finally tried to use the joycons, just to see if they worked, and of course they don't. Super super shady dude, should've known when he offered me $20 for my Xbox One in 2013 lol. First off don't let the name of this place fool you. If you're expecting to find older video games for a reasonable price you will be very disappointed. The games are way overpriced and are often missing the manuals or have a damaged case. Another reason why I would not recommend going to Mr. Dealz is because many locals say the owner knowingly sells stolen goods. If that's not enough reasons to go to Mr. Dealz I don't know what is. This has got to be one of the shadiest businesses in the Capital District. It's not the products being offered but the employees that handle the "dealz." Even when you think you are getting a good deal you just have this overwhelming feeling that you are being screwed in some manner. Basically the store is a glorified pawn shop and I suppose one shouldn't expect much given that fact but it just seems like someone needs to note this and tell folks that you are much better off looking for deals online i.e. Craigslist, eBay, anything else than to submit yourself to The Sopranos store front feel of this mess. read more

Mr. Dealz is always cheaper than other stores like Game Stop. They also have such a wide selection of new and classic video games ranging from the original Atari all the way up to today. They also sell quality cellphones, and other electronics and reasonable prices. The store owner and his employees are super nice, and always willing to help out. Thanks to the last reviewer who put it right. SHADY. This is exactly a pawn shop with a bunch of video games and not much else. What 'erked' me about my visit was not just the employees, it was who I assume, were the owner's business acquaintances that were just hanging around, trying to sell him allegedly stolen merchandise but at he same time acted like they worked there. I didn't know what was happening. I was there to buy a camera lens which turned out to be broken and when I asked if he would sell it for less the owner scoffed and said someone else would buy it and that "I don't need the money that bad". I would never have gone to this place but he advertised some Canon lenses on Craigslist as a private seller and it turned out to be this. So glad I was wise enough to just walk away. **My visit was a few months ago and he has mostly stopped posting as a 'private' seller on Craigslist since then. read more

Tried selling my 55'' Hisense 4K UHD TV. I bought it no more then 6 months ago for $400. They said the best they could give was $125 when i looked it up and i know it was worth more. Did business with them before and got swindled out of something that could have been worth a few hundred, and they gave me $85 for it... definitely do not recommend going to this place to sell anything of major value because you will get ripped off. read more

This place is by far one of the best video game store's around. I saved a bunch just on too games that I picked up used Ghost and Last of us. Game stop was selling them for just $3 shy of the new price. That's bullshit. From now on I'll be shopping at Mr Dealz and make sure all my family and friends go there too. Better prices and way better coustermer service it's more on a personal level. They treat me like family when I shop there. read more

Lied about the price of a game and wouldn't refund me back even though the error was on their part stating all sales are final

Went in here with my son last week, looking for a laptop for work and a cheap phone for my son to play on. Walked out with a brand new laptop and a really nice tablet. It was amazing seeing my son so happy because the owner was so nice to both of us. I was in there for little over a half hour and had some laughs with the employees and overall the pricing is great on new and used. Definitely beats the big buiness's that sell used gaming systems and games. I'll definitely be a frequent flyer. read more

Store is incredibly shady and products don't work. Bought a PS2 game there they said they test all used games before they sell them. Guess they don't. It doesn't work on my ps2 and it's a newer one, I have lots of games that it reads all my other ones perfectly with no issues and the game from mr.dealz is the only one that doesn't work. The worst place ever! I sold most of my games here and got completely ripped off. Mr. Dealz? More like Mr. Stealz.... These guys don't care about what you are trying to sell. HORRIBLE place to shop!!! Be warned!! I tried buying an iPhone 5c here it was scratched used and dirty, not to mention that they hadn't wiped it so they were dirty pictures and YouTube videos on it. It was supposed to be a present for a 14-year-old girl! They did not disclose to me that it was used either and when I just went to pick it up they said they were throwing in an OtterBox but it really was to cover just how dirty the phone was. The place was actually clean and organized for a pawn shop. But the thing is. The employees and how they ran it. I was there the other day. The one employee had a New York mets hat on. Was busy texting on his phone while sitting down. Being completely rude to the costumers. Would not even give legitimate prices on items. Looked like he was high as hell. Ordering another employee around while he sits down and does nothing. Anyways prices on the items. Way too high for what they're worth. Most of the items didn't have a price tag so they can scam you without you knowing. I've bought a phone from there awhile ago. Gave it a shot because he was giving me a "deal" I got home turned it on. The screen was scratched up. I tried to fix it. Took off the back part. And saw they messed with it deeply. Screws weren't even correct most were stripped. The plate to hold the internal hardware wasn't even original. So yeah $400 wasted on the so called "deal". They will buy anything even if it's stolen. I know most pawn shops ask for ID on most common stolen items. But they don't. So yeah I don't recommend this place whatsoever. read more
