The proteins (andouille sausage, chicken, crawfish, shrimp) were cooked perfectly. However, the plating/presentation was bland and brown. A little parsley and/or mixed veggies would have enhanced the visual presentation. OMG... Their Cheesecake with toasted pecans, caramel sauce, and whipped creme was a heavenly delight.

As soon as we got word that Trump won the presidency my entourage and I simply HAD to run out and celebrate. Having worked ourselves in to a drunken and patriotic glee we thought it best to seek out the most American fare we could gorge ourselves on. Were there lots of choices? Yes, but nothing compared to the cornucopia that we were certain would await us at Forklift. Was it the perfectly executed and playful nods to the finer points of both French and Southern Cuisine that made our decision so easy? No. The answer was much simpler that night, my friends. We had been called by a more ancient siren lurking in the shadows beyond that whimsical menu - a beckoning from that place beyond the posh splendor and mirepoix bedecked delicacies. That place where lives "The Sloppy David." One must take caution when mentioning this item as the more novice servers may be unaware of this almost forgotten treasure. Call forth a manager to revel in the hidden delights of "The Sloppy David." This chili cheese dog was the centerpiece in our celebration and those who venture here to order it and marvel in its presence will agree. Absolutely 5 Stars! I visited Forklift last night on a local recommendation and am so thankful for the experience. Post up at the Bar with Lex to enjoy a personalized tour through top end bourbon and wine options. The owner, Jasper, mentioned to order items I wouldn't normally go for and so glad I did. Voo Doo Tater Tots are a must app, Jerk Steelhead Trout was a true delight and the peanut butter pie with caramelized banana had me throwing my hands in the air like Phil Rosenthan from "Somebody Feed Phil". Do yourself a favor and patron Forklift and get schooled on the way a passionate culinary based restuarant does business! read more

I'm so glad I read a reddit post raving about this place and their secret menu! I went and ordered the Sloppy David as instructed. The first waiter I had didn't know what I was talking about, but another member of the wait staff happened to be walking by and knew all about it. I am SO GLAD. The Sloppy David is one of the best chili dogs I've ever had in my life. Well worth the initial confusion haha. Especially since afterwards the manager came by to apologize and gave us a free round of drinks. Another member of my party got the pork belly, but in my opinion the Sloppy David out-shined it. Lots of places nowadays make a point of having "secret" items on the menu. There's no secret item better than the Sloppy David chili dog. Covered in 2 different types of cheese and meat it's one of the best chili dogs you can get in Mississippi. Since it's a newer place the waiters may not know about it but make a point to request it, even get the managers involved. Forklift is an incredible restaurant whose entire future is probably going to be shaped by the Sloppy David. A+ 5/5 read more

Started off with the recommendation of the waiter to try something. I've never tried before... This was certainly on point. The chef was absolutely perfect with his presentation as flavor. Only mildly disappointed that they did not have fried okra on the menu. Our waiter, Clayton was a great host and we had fun with him as well. He had great recommendations and up sale on dessert that we probably should not have eaten but was going to anyway. Way to go buddy. read more

Service and hospitality were excellent. Unfortunately, I CAN NOT say the same for my granny's party!!!! It's unfortunate because the experience and the food was so horrible, that our entire party has vowed to NEVER return. I will say that our waitress ( #Poo ) was wonderful. She did the very best that she could, given that she was not informed of any details surrounding the party before we arrived. She was called in to work our party with no help AT ALL. I had to personally go upstairs and ask that someone, anyone, come help her take orders. Upstairs, the restaurant was practically empty, therefore one of the two girls standing around should have been instructed to stay downstairs and assist. I should not have had to go beg for help. The blonde girl sent the very pregnant young lady downstairs to help take orders. And bless her heart, she was running up and down the stairs all night trying to make sure we were taken care of. Things had gotten so out of hand, my sister, literally grabbed a tray and help wait tables!!!! Yes, you read that right, my SISTER started running drinks and helped bring down food! And between food and dessert, I was bussing tables!!! Yep me, heels and all... But let's get back to the food. No one received hot food. Out of all the steaks, fried catfish, pasta, appetizers, etc, the only hot thing on our plates were the baked potatoes!! Dry baked potatoes at that (no butter, sour cream, nothing). But hey, at least they were hot!! And the pasta was flavorless. We were finally told that since we ordered from the menu it caused the process to be slower. So I asked what we were supposed to do, if not order from the menu. One of the waitresses stated that parties the size of ours are supposed to order platters only. Well this would have been great information to have at booking right?!?! NO ONE told my mom this when she booked. And if this is what they typically do, why were the trays or platters not started as we were arriving and getting situated???? This could have helped out tremendously. The $150 plus tax my mom and her siblings spent to reserve this space was like flushing money down the toilet. Because everyone there left hungry and having to go to drive thru somewhere on their way home. Oh and my steak was given to our Dobermann puppy (Scooby-Doo loved it) And my poor granny (the bday girl) said she was happy to see all her children and grandchildren, but she NEVER wants to see Montgomery's On Main again!!! And to top it all off, when my mom called to speak with the owner today, he blew her off, had an attitude, claimed he couldn't hear her, and told her to call him back some other time, and hung up!!!! Cold food, missing food, children starving because it took forever for their food to arrive, and the birthday girl was literally served last!!!!!! Like WTH. Her food took so long she was asking if her order could just be canceled. I'm all for shopping and eating local, but this, this was ridiculous and uncalled for!!! Now before anyone jumps on here losing their s**t because of my post, please understand that this is MY FAMILY'S EXPERIENCE. You and yours may have had a better experience. And we did try to speak with owner/management to resolve the issue. However my mom should not have been met with attitude, and she should not have to chase someone down to address the issue, after we ALLLLLLL voiced our displeasure while we were actually at the establishment. HE should have been calling her first thing Monday morning with apologies. We had people traveling from 3 different states for this foolishness. Never again!!
