Interesting place - front right area is a cafe that offers a surprise drink where they decide what to make for you - the two people before me each ordered this - one came out blue, the other, pink. The clients were happy as they picked them up and walked away, not even checking to make sure they were palatable, suggesting that they totally trusted the baristas to make something delicious! I was too chicken, and just ordered a triple espresso macchiato, lol - which was pretty good! Volume wasn't too much, and the amount of foam was perfect. Husband ordered a big ol' black coffee - also tasty . We looked into the market while we waited for our drinks. Looked well stocked and also read that they also had camping and backpacking gear? Husband jokingly wouldn't let me back here, I'd buy something we don't need lol. I'm stoked that we found this place for our morning coffee. Oh, and the employees were personable and quite competent at making espressos - seems obvious that they should be, but 90% of espresso places make horrible espressos! read more

This place has always surprised me. Not because it is where it is, but it always seems to have something unusual you might not think you'd find way out on the western edge of the Olympic Peninsula. Whether it be something from the grocery side of the house or something from the clothing section or a tool you might need while visiting the area or living there, Forks Outfitters always rises to the occasion. For instance, I had found this marvelous specialty beer back east on Long Island and could not find it in many places I tried across the country. A trip to Forks Outfitters and there it was...in plentiful stock. SCORE! Or even the remarkable hat with a message that fit my father's view of his life at the time. Dad has gone, but the hat survives and even has Forks, Wa written on the back. Bottom line, I know if I'm going to be in Forks for any period of time, my shopping will not suffer too much because Forks Outfitters is there to carry the heavy load. read more

This place rules! It's great to have this combination grocery, hardware and outdoor outfitter store in a town as small as Forks, but it serves the whole region. Sure, the grocery store isn't up to par with some big city supermarkets, but it's sufficiently adequate for most things you need. And the employees are very friendly and helpful! They sell everything here, and there's even a full coffee shop inside called Outfitters Grind! Definitely a convenient, comprehensive stop for travelers and tourists. This place has you covered if you need maps. The normal paper maps are bordering absurd in price, but for the same price, they had a nice book with maps of all 50 states and National Park info so I got that instead. Overall it really helped us out since the visit information center wasn't open. I was delighted to find a full coffee shop hiding in there! It's bursting with drink menu options and packaged goodies, and they offer several alternative (non-dairy) milks. The workers were super nice about answering questions and providing suggestions. They'll make custom drinks that aren't on the menu if you're dodging food sensitivities and playing to your cravings. I got a very nice off-menu oat milk latte that was very pleasant. Unfortunately one of the only places in town for a one stop shop but if you find yourself needing to visit this place, I would steer clear from Jim. Usually managers are meant for doing the right thing and rectifying the mistakes of their employees but this wasn't the case for Jim. I was so disappointed in my experience here. Almost the opposite of most stores,The deli and the checkout clerks almost seem disappointed if you don't belly up to the counter engaging in a long drawn out conversation rather than simply asking for an item and be on your way. As a tourist, spending a night in Forks, I first came to buy gear at the outfitter "middle" part of the store. For a small space they had a lot of very good work/outdoor clothes, rain gear, and camping supplies. I was very happy to be able to find good gear, not the stuff seen in big chain stores. This right here makes this a place worth supporting. Later, I found the I was running low on food supplies and came back to the Thriftway side and again what a well stocked grocery store. I was able to find everything on my list. Did I mention that the people were all very friendly and helpful? This place has everything! From the outside I thought it was similar to an OSH or Home Depot, but nope! This place has groceries, trinkettes, sports stuff, outdoor stuff, clothes and a coffee shop! It is also very awesome because this is where Bella works! They also have an area devoted to twilight memorabilia. The staff are so friendly too! The coffee shop is nice too. There aren't too many seats but they have a pretty big selection of coffee and tea drinks including a Twilight themed menu. And I had something I've never had before there! I wish I could give this place zero stars. This is the worst business I have ever been to in my life. I wish I was kidding. I was on a road trip with my family when our truck needed an oil change. We stopped at the literal only store open in town which was this sad excuse of a business. We were inside for over an hour looking for the right type of fluids that we needed for our car. I am aware of the mistake I made which was grabbing a bag of chips for the isle and eating them. We had been inside the store for over an hour, had been driving for hours prior to this and was hungry. The bag of chips was $1.89. My dad facetimed me to help us find the oil and in the midst of trying to have free hands, I put the chips in my pocket. We continued to go back and forth trying to find the oil and after about 2 hours in the store we finally went and checked out with the other items we were buying. So much time had past and I was stressed out not thinking about the chips that I had put in my pocket when I answered my phone, that after paying for the other items I walked out of the store. I was greeted by a man named Scott who told me to follow him to the back. I was confused to which he then explained to me that I had chips in my pocket. I immediately apologized and explained ^ the above and he said "yes, I know. I saw". This led me to believe that Scott saw me, saw us trying to find the oil, saw us pay for the other items and mistakenly walk out with $1.89 bag of chips. I told him again that I was sorry and would like to pay for the item to which he said " oh, you will". Scott took me to the employees back room and told me that " if I cooperated I would not be arrested". He proceeded to call 911 for a "shoplifter". 2 police officers showed up and Scott threatened to have me arrested. I begged and pleaded with him. I told him this was a massive misunderstanding. Why would I pay for other items amounting to about $40-50 and "steal" $1.89 bag of chips. He however, was on some sort of sick power trip and wasn't willing to hear me out. After 20 minutes of hysterically crying , telling him that this would ruin my career, he told me he had "one other option for me". He told me "it's either go to jail or pay the store a restitution fee for $200". "Restitution" is paying the cost of a stolen item...these chips were $1.89. I was under severe distress and seeing no other option, paid the $200. Oh and the kicker was he said " CASH ONLY". After such a traumatizing day I decided to put it behind me and told myself I'd call the store manager or owner when I got back to my home state. I spoke to Jim who is the manager and he apologized profusely stating that what Scott did was wrong and that he would make it right. Well, Jim called me back and told me that that was nothing he could do and even went on to say that the owner of this business Bruce agreed with him. I am writing this as a warning to anyone traveling through this area. Avoid this store at all costs. They are crooks and have no moral compass. read more

It's a little tough to review something that's basically a miniature Walmart-REI-Ace Hardware-Safeway mashup. Plus, this is the only major place to shop in a 160-mile stretch of 101 (from Aberdeen to Port Angeles) with a very small population to support it. Given those limitations, I'm always a tad surprised at the quality and range of items you can find here. There are actually three stores (although you can pay anywhere in the complex): 1. Thriftway: pretty large, stocks Western Family generic brand on top of all the usual bad-for-you American processed foods, with a growing amount of regional and organic stuff. Produce tucked in a far corner used to be mediocre but is improving. Fish and meats reasonably priced. The hot counter is an Ode to the South: fried food mania. When it comes to chicken and tater tots -- if there's a way to cook or fry it, they'll probably have it. (Really cheap, too. Not that I should know...) 2. Forks Outfitters: the purchaser clearly does a good job stocking brands you'd find at REI -- with a discount. Columbia, Carhartt, Life is Good, Roxy, etc. The clearance racks are amazing, too -- good brands discounted to sub-$10 levels! The shoe selection is pretty cool, as well. Non-clothing items are a bit more limited, but there are basic pillows, towels, and linens. 3. Ace Hardware: probably the only difference from the True Value down the street is the extensive stock of backpacking/camping items. Given that's what most pre-Twilight visitors were in town for, would make sense. Lots of kitchen gear, too -- felt a bit like Target. The mass quantities of hunting gear? Not so much ;) Bonus: they sell gluten-free cookies at the coffee shop. If you're a local, you can leave your rewards card in a file box by the register :) read more

This is one of those gems of Forks--the kind of business you wish you could see more of. Basically an immense combination hardware and grocery store and outdoors store rolled into one with a serious cafe. We came there late at night when it was getting close to one of the few things open in Forks, which is always a big issue, and found an excellent selection of wine--including two ice wines (winter wines), which are almost impossible to find even in Portland grocery stores. So their wine selection is beyond incredible, which is really sweet and romantic--my girlfriend loves icewines. There's a good selection of organic and frozen cheeses too, and basically we found everything we needed, even the Newman's popcorn without transfats, to have a pleasant stay in our hotel.... It would be THE stop if the Pacific Inn only had kitchens in the rooms... read more

Thank God there is a non-Twilight store in Forks. I just needed to grab a sweater for backpacking, and I wasn't wanting one with a big vampire on the back. Forks Outfitters to the rescue! On the other hand, there is a lot of Twilight paraphernalia here, as well. The Outfitters is worth the little walk to break out of downtown, and you'll probably see some locals shopping around, too. We purchased everything we needed for our trip through the Olympic National Park and the three nights we are staying here in forks, and I also found a delicious coffee shop attached to the store with the sweetest barista. Go for the 16oz, quad shot, sugar free butterscotch latte with skim milk. So delicious! read more

We went hiking and Forks was our waypoint. It's just a small industry town, nothing really unusual about it apart from the Twilight thing. (The Twilight thing is hilarious, though. There's apparently Twilight-themed tours. Forks is extremely small, though, so I have no idea what you see on one of those tours. Thrill at the parking lot of the high school! Marvel at how rainy it is here!) Forks Outfitters serves basically any and every need you could possibly have without your need being so extreme that you go all the way to Port Angeles. The place is a grocery store, hardware store, clothing store and outdoorsy stuff store all in one. Given how small the town is, I was really surprised by the variety of groceries. This is really Forks Outfitters. The local Thriftway, Ace Hardware, sporting goods, and clothing store all rolled into one. They have it all. They have food, hardware, Carhart's, Danner boots, Columbia sportswear, movie rentals, and lots of Forks/Twilight souvenirs. They even have Twilight rain boots. Every employee went out of their way to make sure I was finding everything I needed, and not just me. The cashiers were nice to everyone. I have never shopped in a store that had customer service at this level. It was the Nordstrom's of supermarkets. They had the best prices and a great selection of souvenirs. read more

Wonderful place. Get your sweatshirts here if you can, the prices were WAY better than the stores downtown. Great place to stock up on Twi stuff and on any other Forks/La Push/WA souvenirs. Even the sandwiches are themed. There are cutouts everywhere. The coffee shop was really nice, the staff I encountered were pretty friendly. I got some of the Twilight themed coffee grounds to bring home to my coffee obsessed friends and they said it was pretty amazing. read more

I'm only reviewing this place for the Twilight merchandise, not the other intended purposes of the store. They have a sign out front that says "best selection of Twilight merchandise in town" which is an outright lie. We were disappointed at the selection, which basically encompasses one corner in the front of the store (as shown in another reviewers photo). However, if you come to Forks during the off season, this may be one of the few places open, selling merchandise, as the place we wanted to go, Dazzled by Twilight was closed. I should also note that the check outs are REALLY slow here... I guess because it's a small town and they love to chat with the customers even if there's a long line of people waiting. read more

Wow, Sometimes I simply can't believe how some people keep their jobs. When my girlfriend and I forgot out pillows on a road trip around the peninsula, we decided to buy pillows wherever we could. This seemed to be the only place near us, so when we asked the lady working there for help, she showed us where to go, but stayed and continued to stare at us. When my girlfriend told her nicely we didnt need more help, she said 'im here to watch the merchandise'. after we made our selections, we tried to make friendly small talk with her and she continued to be rude and demeaning to us. read more

We stopped by Fork's Outfitters for a few hiking supplies on our way to the Hoh Rain Forest. The prices were okay but the person working the clothing racks outside was super snobby and deterred us from really taking a look. Inside we purchased an awesome map with every trail in the Olympic National Park but once again encountered rudeness from a different cashier.
