Staff was super friendly. I was greeted when I walked in, didn't feel rushed, the food/coffee came out quickly. I ordered the pistachio mocha with their homemade cashew milk. Super rich. I also got the egg & toast. It was a buttered piece of sourdough bread with a soft boiled egg on top. That's all I need - simple and good - lots of fresh cracked pepper on it. I thought this place was super cute!

    All-day breakfast burrito

Coffee tasted great and would recommend, however I would not suggest some hot foods. The burrito I got was deceiving compared to their photos. They microwave a pre-made burrito as well as their bacon.

I really liked the small size of coffee which is apt for the price (no point of paying 3 more bucks and wasting that half cup of coffee). I got a cappuccino and avacado toast. Avacado toast- sourdough bread was good but only part was it was TOO much salted. On the website they say they use black Hawaiian Lava salt, which is great but too much can't be handled. Assuming their toast have good reviews maybe it was one time only. Reducing one star for taste but overall good place. Wi-Fi availability and cool vibes.

Coffee flight: house drip, piccolo (small latte), espresso

When a coffee shop has a coffee flight, that is usually a good sign. Form & Function did not disappoint! Very good coffee if you are just wanting good espresso and a great spot to rest and hang for awhile with a super nice upstairs loft area. I'm assuming their other drinks are good as well! The flight came with espresso, piccolo (small latte), and house drip. The espresso was pulled really well and had great flavor. We also ordered a breakfast burrito, which was really tasty (just a little too much tortilla in some places). Would absolutely go again and absolutely recommend.

Great service. Delicious coffee & treats. Sat upstairs with my besties. 5 star experience!

tldr; Decent coffee. This shop is down the street from my place in Boise. It has a small coffee shop vibe, and serves passable cappuccinos and other espresso drinks. The pastries are hit or miss, and are sometimes on the verge of stale. As a regular pastry lover - the inconsistency is a bit too much for my preferences. Although the pastries are likely delivered daily - there may be a problem with their storage or transportation that is contributing to gaps in freshness. Pastries are served on wood boards that are not large enough to hold the pastry. In general - the service feels distant and unwelcoming. Staff on busy and slow days appear uninterested in customer engagement, or timeliness of orders. Drinks are left on the counter and announced by the drink name only (e.g., "Cappuccino!"). This leads to confusion during busy times - when multiple customers are waiting for the same drink - staff appears uninterested in resolving the confusion. On one occasion - while waiting to order - I observed staff use the same shaker to prepare a regular milk and oat milk drink without rinsing the shaker. The staff may require additional food safety training. Overall - not a bad place for a cup of coffee, but worth passing if you're in search of a warmer atmosphere or quality pastries.

Avocado toast and reverie coffee (special )

My coffee was great! The avocado toast was honestly terrible, way too salty. I ended up just taking everything off to eat the toast. I've never had an avocado toast I didn't like until now. Definitely disappointed as it was 2.5$ to add an egg.

Great little cozy cafe! The breakfast menu has some good variety and tastes super fresh. The staff are helpful & friendly. The coffee & cider were a perfect way to get our day started. Definitely recommend!

What a delightful coffee shop! Stopped by Form & Function for the first time recently and I'm so glad I did! Form & Function offers a crisp, clean space with delicious coffee and delectable bites to boot. For my first visit, I ordered one of their seasonal lattes, which, with the season being Autumn, was a spice filled delight. The espresso is rich and smooth and they offer milk alternatives, so I was happy to have my latte made with almond milk. For a bite, I ordered their avocado toast which ranks as one of the best avocado toasts I've had anywhere--sliced fresh avocado, a beautiful sprinkling of black Hawaiian salt and seed blend, and a squeeze of lemon all over a slice of acme sourdough--seriously, does it get much better? It does. Because, they also offer the option of getting a soft boiled egg added to the mix. Yes, please and thank you. It was truly wonderful. The service was top notch, the prices are reasonable. They're a small shop but do have seating and while it does get busy, my dining companion and I were able to snag a table to leisure over our coffee. If you can get a table, it would be a decent enough spot to work from. Get to it!

I'm a stickler for good coffee and found this place via the source app which identifies craft coffee shops, download it if you're a snob like me. This place has solid, robust coffee, nice lighting and very friendly baristas. This is the premier coffee destination in Boise. Will be my third place.

    Large table for groups upstairs!

This is a great spot for our mentoring group with a large table upstairs where it's quiet! The most recent time I visited I got a dirty chai and the avocado toast! Both were amazing! Surprisingly the BEST avocado toast I've ever had with a lemon zest to it! The service comes with a small and the drinks are presented like an art piece; however they do take quite a while to make. Well worth the wait but don't be in a rush or you may not appreciate how good the drinks are.

What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. Apple fritters are his favorite so I Googled the nearest joint that has apple fritters Goldy's Corner popped up so I made my 2 minute drive there. For a sunny Monday morning, downtown was pretty chill. Got myself a front row parking spot and made my way in. The vibe in the joint was just the same as this Monday morning, chill. You see a few guests enjoying their morning caffeine with some friends. Another guest having his chess board all ready for a serious game while sipping on his drink. I love it. The display case was full of goods. You have a great variety of savory and sweet options. I did a run through of everything and the one thing I came in for wasn't there. The sweet gal behind the counter greeted me with the friendliest smile. I asked her about the apple fritters and she nicely told me they didn't have any today. Last week, last week they had the fritters. So, I got my husband his second favorite thing and that is a huge cinnamon roll. It was beautifully displayed in the case. It was perfectly frosted and hearty. It looked like the perfect pastry to grab for him. I got my cinnamon roll all boxed up and was excited to bring it home to the hubby. The sweet gal told me to call ahead next time to see if they were planning on having fritters available that day. I also appreciate that she tried to direct me to other joints to grab a fritter. I told her that I have been to the shops she recommended but I was happy with the cinnamon roll. I look forward to taking my huge bite of this cinnamon roll when I get home. I am positive my husband will love it, he's never had a locally made cinnamon roll that he didn't like. The shop was really chill and relaxing. The gal that worked today was sweet and kind. Everything I expected and I got the day old banana bread which was dried up and hard on the edges and soft in the middle. I guess that's why they discount it. We ordered our drinks and asked for them to be for here. I also got a scone. We waited 10 to 15 minutes while people who came in after us received their drinks first, and the shop wasn't busy. My husband eventually went up to ask about our order. The response we got was basically, "OK, we'll make it," with no apology or acknowledgment of the oversight. We finally received our drinks about 25 minutes after ordering, and they were in to-go cups even though we clearly asked for them to be for here. At that point it felt like a sign that we should just leave, so we did. If I could go back, I would have left the moment we weren't greeted. Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience to start our Sunday morning.

I usually hit a couple local joints that are right by the salon I work at. Conveniently, Dawson Taylor was right there so I took it as a sign to head in. This coffee joint is so cool. Walked in and instantly noticed how pretty the shop is. I was greeted right away. I told the gentleman that greeted me that I was going to use the ladies room real quick. I will have to say, the bathroom is so dope. I love all the quotes that were written on the walls. You don't realize how long you're actually in the bathroom when you're reading all the tiles. After reading a handful of tiles, I finally made my way out. I got my usual coffee when I try a new joint out. Gives every shop an even playing field. So I got myself an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. I had asked the barista for cream to be poured in the back by him. I had told him about my new kidney when I ordered and that I can't really use communal things. He proceeded to tell me the cream was at the table. I really didn't want to use it but I did. I poured a little of it out before I added the cream to my drink. I also used a napkin to hold the handle. I try not to be a germaphobe but it's hard not to be when your immune system is non existent. I made my way outside to sit under the sun and absorb the afternoon energy. I did add couple packets of my sweetner to my drink to sweetnen it a tad. I like my drinks on the sweeter side. Wow, this drink is absolute perfection. You can taste the espresso. It was very present and bitter. It wasn't watered down and light. I appreciate how bold the espresso is. The cream added a nice richness to the drink. The sweetner did enhance the taste of the vanilla. This americano was so good! I ended up walking to Cecil Andrus park and enjoying the rest of my drink there. It was just what I needed this afternoon. This joint is just another block away from the salon I work at which will be so nice and convenient to head down to for an afternoon caffeinated beverage.
