Have you ever returned to a restaurant and think to yourself, "Why in the world have I not come back here sooner." That is the thought I had when we sat down at Moe Joe's. This place is phenomenal and seriously one of the best breakfast places in all of Idaho. I hesitate to say that because there can definitely be a wait because of its popularity, but facts are facts. My wife and I went to Moe Joe's for breakfast recently and man was it good. I ordered the chicken fried steak and was stunned at the amount of food. Where to start. The steak was incredibly tender and enormous. The homemade biscuit was flaky and perfectly baked. The sausage gravy was meaty and flavorful. And the crispy hashbrowns seemed to cover half the plate. Then there are the house-made jellies. Who does that and how can I get more! The service was prompt and friendly with a great wait staff that made everything easy. The vibe of the restaurant is "friendly neighborhood spot" and feels like home. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thought it wouldn't fill me up, but it absolutely did... plus I sampled half the table because everything looked too good not to. Marlene's Loaded Idaho Potato Nachos? Spicy, bold, and ridiculously tasty. Coffee? Strong and smooth. The prices were so low I thought they misprinted the menu, and then the portions came out and confirmed we'd officially scored. Moe Joe's was very good. Food was tasty and coffee was good but a little more than the average place. I usually pay $3.00 for coffee and this was $3.75, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. Service was spot on, always refilled my coffee and checked if I was doing well. I got a booth which was clean and comfortable. It was kinda busy for a Tuesday at 930, but they take your number and text you when ready. Waited about ten minutes. I got the breakfast burrito with red sauce. I get the wet burrito quite often and was actually surprised to see the sauce on the plate and not poured over the burrito. But, try it and see. The only problem with sauce on the plate is not enough sauce. Next time I'll just ask them to put sauce on top. Bathroom was clean and stocked, but seat was broken off on one side. Great selection here for breakfast and the portions are LARGE. They also offer limited lunch selections (only open until 2:00). Located in a small strip shopping center the venue is medium sized for a restaurant. Arriving at 11:15 AM on a Wednesday we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table but availability seemed to open up after that. I saw a fair amount of young families with preschool children. They do offer a small breakfast for them and seniors. The food is good with creative, tasty (but not avant -gard) selections. Service was mixed; the server who took our order was knowledgeable and trained. The other was crude and seemed like she had never been trained. The worst part was the restrooms. They both smelled, with dirty, inoperable exhaust fans and were neglected. read more

Hubby and I were starting off my birthday week with breakfast. He asked me where I wanted to eat. Of course it had to be Moe Joe's. We were in the area so it was meant to be. We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Great non-American standard selection of Bennies and skillet plates, plus standout pancakes. I had the Irish Bennie - hollandaise excellent with a lemon tang, fresh house made corned beef (a tad salty for my taste, but likely not for most)- and really great house potatos with plenty of them. Everything is still the same service-wise, space, cleanliness. They still text if there's a long wait, which is convenient, so you can wait in your car. We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. Worst restaurant experience in a while! We were visiting Meridian and looked this place up on Yelp and saw that it had a great rating but were totally disappointed. I ordered an omelette that said on the menu that it came with gravy which I told the waitress that I didn't want. Well somehow the chef either didn't see it or decided to put it on anyway. It ruined my breakfast I know better than to send food back with a complaint Won't be back. Update: Joe, in response to your comment: Seems to me that maybe you shouldn't be in the restaurant business if you can't handle a little public criticism by your customers. I only posted what was our experience maybe others would find their change requests ignored of no significance but I'm on a specialized diet and that gravy was not acceptable! Visiting the area and was able to grab a spot at Moe Joe's for breakfast- what a treat! The staff were friendly and helpful in identifying options for my food allergies. I was elated to see they could make GF French toast and pancakes! The chilaquiles were delicious and all the menu items offer excellent portions. I enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere and cleanliness! I did trade our carnitas for chicken on my chilaquiles and the chicken was an overcooked which was a little bit of a bummer but didn't take away too much from the meal. read more

If you're looking for a breakfast spot that truly delivers, Moe Joe's Breakfast Eatery is absolutely worth the visit. The food is incredibly well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, and I love that many of the dishes are uniquely served on cast iron plates -- it adds both character and keeps everything hot from first bite to last. The portions are no joke either. We ordered the Big Boy Omelette with their house potatoes and a BLT with fries, and both were outstanding. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and plated in a way that made it feel like more than just your average breakfast. At one point, I had to stop and ask another patron what they ordered because it completely filled their plate. It was the chicken-fried steak, and they told me it was cooked perfectly. I can eat -- but there is no way I could finish that chicken-fried steak by myself! The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Audrey, was on another level of fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, efficient, and genuinely made the experience better. Be prepared to wait -- it gets busy for a reason. We had the breakfast burrito and the Jalapeño berry pancakes. The burrito was huge, enough for two, and was very tasty. The jalapeño infuses berry syrup was very unique. Located about 15 mins from the Boise airport and this is worth the trip! It's in a strip mall, next door to a coffee shop with a bunch of comic books (it's cool and good to pass time while you wait). We visited on a Saturday around 10am and it was busy but the wait was reasonable, about 35mins and it was accurate. The restaurant is small and quaint. There's no 'bar' but the space is used well and they turn over tables quickly. Our waitress was great, super nice, friendly, and offered advice for items to order. We ordered the corned beef hash and a carafe of the seasonal mimosa and everything was GREAT! My only critique is that the corned beef has needs a bit more meat but other than that, it was perfect (not fatty or greasy, perfectly seasoned). The mimosa was delicious and hit the spot. PARKING: They share a parking lot with a couple of other businesses but you wont have any issue with finding a spot. If you're in the area, this place is worth a try. Stopped in for breakfast - even got here right when they opened and there were already people waiting to be seated ... a good sign. The dining room is clean, spacious (considering the small space it occupies), inviting. I was seated and had coffee in front of me in a flash. ....another good sign.... I ordered the Carnitas Benedict. It looked very interesting with the chunks of pork, corn tortillas.... Well, it did not disappoint. The only negative was the poached eggs were overcooked. Otherwise, everything else was tasty, well seasoned and plentiful. The "Moe Joe's" potatoes were excellent - and a LOT of 'em! I actually couldn't finish them and, for a big guy like me, that's heartbreaking. But, the plate was well worth the effort. Service is what gives this place that 4th star. Attentive, friendly, warm - always had my coffee cup full and came around to make sure all was well. Prices are decent. I can't complain at all. Although the wait times are long on weekends, it's worth it in my opinion. The team are wonderfully helpful and kind. The food comes out fast and the food is great! I love their potatoes! The French toast is an experience but know that they comes with shaved almonds so if you don't like nuts, make sure to ask for none (I don't recall nuts being mentioned in the menu description). Our first time at Moe Joe's and I know we'll be back. Top of list, they offer a REAL hollandaise sauce. Great, full flavor with a touch of what seemed like chili powder. It went perfectly over the classic and BTA benedicts. The classic came with plenty of ham and was very filling. I was curious how it would turn out on a baguette, but they served it on an English muffin instead. Hash browns had a nice crisp but seemed just a tad oily throughout. The primary difference between 4 and 5 stars were that the poached eggs I got were somewhere between soft and medium, not runny. It's just one of those things I love. The coffee was good without being overpowering or bitter. The ambiance is fun and lively and thought the faux cast iron plates were pretty cool. Unfortunately, the restaurant was pretty cold and very few people took off their coats on a May morning. And both of our knives were dirty when we were given our napkin-wrapped silverware. read more

Glad I listened to the positive reviews. Went on Thursday morning for breakfast. Hostess was a bit taciturn but efficient. Waitress was obviously very experienced and friendly. Both of us got hand and cheese omelets with hash browns and pancakes. Super good omelet and perfectly cooked hash browns. The pancakes were also good and served with warm syrup. We stopped in for a quick cup of coffee while waiting for our daughter to finish one of the awesome cooking classes at Cooks & Books, and, because the menu pictures looked so good, we decided to split a BLTA. The fries were deliciously crispy, and it was the best BLTA I have ever eaten. To be completely honest, I'm not a fan of BLTs, but it's what my husband was in the mood for so I acquiesced. She did a great job. We went on a week day around 9:30 for my wife's birthday and it was perfect. Not too busy but well visited. I get the sense it gets pretty busy on the weekends. You can grab a coffee at the neighbors comic book coffee shop. The inside felt modern and industrial with some outdoor seating.
