A few years ago, I went to the Huck House to celebrate my birthday with my daughter. I honestly had the worst experience there. And after finding out that Blue Bench Brunchette and Biscuits and Hogs were all affiliated, I made a point not to spend a dime at any of those businesses. I recently found out that Blue Bench is under new management. Knowing that this joint has new owners, I was totally down to give it a shot. New management means new expectations and service. I was done doing labs at the hospital. I told my husband let's go get breakfast and we made our way in. I love love love how darling this venue is. It's bright, fun and girly. I adore the decor. It's a smaller venue so the space is cute and dainty. Even though it's a smaller venue, tables and booths are nicely spaced out. You're not on top of each order. I can imagine this place being crazy on the weekends so I'm happy we decided to try this place out on a Monday. It was chill. Our server got some coffee and apple juice started for us while we looked over the menu. Everything looked so good! For brunch my husband got the Brunch trio. He picked cinnamon roll French toast, a cinnamon roll and some eggs. I got the sunrise sampler with cinnamon roll French toast. I had to try a little bit of everything. I also snagged a side of country gravy for my potatoes. Food came out really fast and it all looked fantastic! The cinnamon roll French toast was so fragrant. My husband's cinnamon roll looked divine. And the sunrise sampler was all about business! It was hearty! If you ever eat here, the cinnamon roll French toast is a must! It's crispy on the outside topped with butter and cinnamon sugar dust. The inside is soft and warm. Killer good! I did take a bite of my husband's cinnamon roll. It was mehhh. But I think if it was served warm, it would have been that much better. It was cold, dry and stiff. The bacon and sausage on my plate were cooked perfectly! My eggs were great and the potatoes were tasty! I do wish that the country gravy was not lumpy. I couldn't get over the lumps in the gravy from it sitting. I had about a couple spoons of it and couldn't eat it. It looked esthetically displeasing. Breakfast was good. Aspen did a decent job taking care of us. The venue is super charming. But the cinnamon roll was cold and honestly tasted like it wasn't freshly baked. The country gravy was lumpy and not very hot. It sucked to pay for a side of it and not enjoy it. Overall our visit was great. I don't know when we will be back but the cinnamon roll French toast will be a must have the next time we come in. read more

I ordered 3 of their hot latte's while I waited for my flight and every single one was great, one was a lavender latte and I cannot remember the names of the others but they were amazing. Amazing pancakes. Eggs had a nice orange yolk and looked a bit healthier than other places. My crispy bacon was done perfectly. Portions were large including like 5 slices of bacon. Syrup was hot and sweet. Service was decent. My only complaint was that it was a bit loud. Also parking lot was fairly full on a Sunday around 11. The place is large and has plenty of space for all sized parties including a quieter room off to the side. Not sure why this place doesn't have better ratings. read more

Reason for a four star is out of our party of five, my order was made incorrectly. I didn't say anything, due to not wanting it to be an issue. Other than that, everything was wonderful! Bloody Mary's we AMAZING!!! They make them with saké and wow, delicious. Our server was great, very friendly and not overly pushy or anything. Our party of 7 came here for a late breakfast while on our way to the airport. Called ahead and made reservations (thank goodness) as this was a hot spot!! After checking in the nice, bubbly hostess let us know that the kitchen was a little behind due to a few employees being out I'll. That was fine, we still had time. We ordered, classic mimosas (freshly squeezed OJ) for the adults and specialty hot chocolates for the littles. I ordered the chorizo omelet with house potatoes and sourdough toast, it was delicious!! The restaurant was very busy, all employees were hustling and worked together as a well trained team. We definitely will be back when visit the area again. My friend and I ate brunch here last week while visiting Boise. It was such a cute place with eclectic decor that made it even cuter! Our server was very nice and efficient. I had the Breakfast Sandwich with hash browns and a cinnamon roll and oh, my goodness...everything was delicious!! The brioche bun just made the whole sandwich even tastier. The service and food isn't what it used to be. This used to be a favorite spot. It's not anymore. I called to complain about the conceso chorizo omelet that I requested extra conceso on since my last experience months ago, was an omelet without the sauce. I said then, I would not be back. It just costs so much to say I eat less carbs now. But my husband was out that way today and asked if I wanted one. I should have followed my first mind. The omelet was DRY and unappealing once again! Idk if they're trying to save money or what but, if you're going for visit for that item, save your money. I called and spoke to the manager who offered no remedy, even though I paid for something I did not receive. Please change the name if you're not going to put but a drizzle on the omelet. Super cute place and excellent service. Beyond that, not much to write home about. Personally, I don't mind relatively high prices if the food is high quality but this was not the case. I ordered the basic two egg breakfast and a coffee which was roughly $25, with tip included. I ordered over hard eggs, they came over medium at best. The bacon was not freshly cooked and lukewarm at best. The fruit was decent but not super fresh. The biscuit and gravy were ok but lacked flavor. But again, the decor/ambiance is very well done and the waitresss'/staff did a great job. Great coffee with flavored creamer and country music playing so that's a plus. This place could have a line out the door but they'll need to ensure their food matches their prices. Food quality is paramount; no one cares if the decor isn't aesthetically pleasing so long as the food is amazing. Bring the food quality up and I'll be back to give this place 5 . read more

I'm shocked this place has 4 stars. I think they're doing way too much. If they shrank the menu and worked on mastering the basics, I think it has potential! It's very cute and cheery inside but the food left a lot to be desired. I got the fig and cheese omelette; unfortunately those flavors did not work as well as I thought they would. My potatoes and pancakes were also cold. Our waitress did comp the dish but I still wasn't thrilled with the overall service. I use to love the huck house location but that one is permanently closed. I've only been to this one a few times but I have always loved the menu since they had chicken sausage. Today we went in and didn't find out that they have stopped carrying the chicken sausage until we tried to order brunch. I feel like that should have been disclosed when we got the menus since chicken sausage is still clearly on the whole menu. I also always get wild garlic potatoes and I feel like this time they were definitely lacking in the garlic compared to previous times. The service was ok but water wasn't refilled unless asked for it, over easy egg was forgotten about until asked and the chicken sausage issue should have been disclosed. I'm glad you can reserve ahead and put yourself on the waitlist but it's definitely not the same place it use to be. read more

The place itself is super cute and had a solid vibe at first. We were greeted and seated by a very kind, smiling hostess, and the manager/owner who brought our food was also wonderful -- genuinely happy to be there and serving breakfast. Unfortunately, the service from our server fell flat. At first, he seemed fine -- got our drinks, took our order promptly, and was pleasant enough. But then he sat down with another server at a table right by the host stand to eat an entire meal, in full view of the dining room. As someone who works in the service industry, I found this unprofessional. If staff need to eat, it should be done out of sight from guests. During that time, he didn't check on us at all. My friend had to ask for a refill on her $4 soda, which ended up coming in a to-go cup as we were already finished. On top of that, the food -- while it looked amazing -- was pretty underwhelming. It lacked seasoning and just didn't taste as good as it appeared. We didn't even finish it and I really wanted to not leave a tip but I couldn't do that in good conscience. To close things out, we had to flag him down to get our check paid. This is a top tier breakfast/brunch establishment! They have so many great food options and also provide a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. They are known for their mimosas, which are delicious! They also have great drip coffee and lattes to choose from. The price point here is a little higher than other breakfast places, but I believe that the cost is worth the fresh food that you receive. I ordered the ham renaissance omelet, which is stuffed with sharp white cheddar cheese and prosciutto, it was so good! All of their meals come with a ton of food and various options for sides. This restaurant can get fairly busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends! read more

I have been here and their sister restaurant (Huck House) probably a dozen times. So clearly I like this place. The staff is always super friendly which is nice because they are often packed. They have reduced their large menu due to keeping food fresh and available. Went here for Mother's day brunch and had never been there before. 1st off we made a reservation 3 PM and they confirmed. Little did we know they close at 3:00. We arrived early and were seated promptly. We were told to hurry and order because the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes, then informed they were out of several items we were going to order. Once ordered, the food did not all arrive together. Had to ask twice for silverware. Place was very noisy and our table was right below the air-conditioning vent and freezing. Food was very underwhelming. My chilequellies were just warm and soggy and under seasoned. Over priced and lousy service. The food is average but the cost is steep. The Wild Harvest Omelette, was dry chewy and had more garlic than mushrooms. The French Toast was extremely dry, and not good. I've been to this establishment more than once and this has been the experience each time so I'll share about my last visit, which was this past Friday. Upon entering, we weren't even acknowledged within the first 5 mins. When someone finally noticed us, they said they'd be right with us. They come back a few minutes later and seat us. A server approaches us for what would be our server to tell her it's the wrong table, and points to a gentleman who'd been waiting since before we walked in. Wonder how long he'd been waiting. Jeez. We wait at least 10 minutes to even be given menus. Another 5 to get drink orders. Another 5 for said drinks to arrive, which she made incorrectly and noticed upon putting the drink down and promptly takes it away only to scrape off what I didn't ask for, leaving remnants of said item floating around in my drink. Said drink wound up tasting like a vape juice, not anything like huckleberry. Whatever. To each their own. Next, I asked for fruit with my entree. She gave me potatoes. At this point I don't care to ask for more or wait longer when clearly my requests won't be honored. Upon receiving our check, the waitress was totally cold and didn't really care at all moving forward, not that she really did in the front end regardless. All this to say, they very clearly don't have the drive/care/support/staff they need to make a place like this enjoyable. There's only a couple/few windows in the front, which one has been covered with a big sticker decal that blocks most of the natural light. So that ruins the ambiance. And if your service is lacking, and food and drinks come out incorrect, what's even the point??? I want to love this place living right around the corner now but I just can't given this has been my experience the few times I've been. Will I return? Who knows. The two stars is because the food is okay, but that's about it. Definitely leaving something to be desired in all avenues. Too bad. read more

Wow best breakfast joint I have been to so far since moving to the Treasure Valley! We went to Blue Bench Brunchette this morning after church and based on some of my Yelp friends was really looking forward to this. This is located on a small strip mall setting and you have to look for it because it's day to miss. I would also suggest making a reservation on the weekend because this place gets really busy. Inside great decor, clean and well kept with modern touches. This place specializes in mimosas but today we weren't in for a day killer lol so we opted in for some regular drip coffees and the ladies had the honey coconut lattes. The lattes are all homemade and wow what a treat! My wife allowed me to have a taste of hers...the coffee was very fresh as well and tasted great. For brunch I had the Mountain Man-home fries, caramelized sweet onions, bacon jam and diced handcrafted chicken fried steak& 3 eggs this dish was so delicious. Both my wife and daughter had the Fig & cheese egg white omelette, garlic chutney spread, prosciutto, sliced figs & goat cheese. Drizzled with a honey & thyme mixture. ​(Tip: my daughter didn't get the egg whites but wish she did after tasting my wife's). My SIL had the Traditional Bene-Grilled honey cured on English muffin, topped with farm fresh poached eggs and smothered in rich hollandaise sauce. Everyone loved their dishes and this is now on our favorites list! Our service was all the way 5 star and made this place all that more special. Incredibly busy most of the time, so if you have a big party, try to make a reservation. Bar is open seating, and we were lucky enough to be able to sit right away. Aesthetics are similar to their Huck House location in Garden City. Similar to Huck House, the food portion are HUGE. We got the Cafe Euro from their Benedicts list. It was tasteful but the eggs were slightly overcooked. One order of this was enough for the two of us. We also got an order of the Huckleberry Crisp French Toast. If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely for you. For us, the sweetness was overpowering. It was cooked great though, and was not soggy when it came out. Their speciality drinks are also very sweet. We got the honey coconut latte, but the honey was overpowering everything in the drink. If you are not a big eater, I would recommend sharing with another person or plan to take it home. Blue Brunch is definitely for those who have a sweet tooth. read more

The food here is on point. I've never been here on a busy morning usually just a few tables when I come and the service is always great. The wait staff was helpful and had good recommendations. I'm always impressed by the food here compared to some other bois hotspots. It's a little pricey so I never order anything basic. We were seated in the far off aisle near the window but in no way did that mean our waitress wasn't on top of it. The ambiance is that of a local sit down bakery breakfast restaurant. Everything felt great. We don't go to breakfast places on busy weekends. So this review was on a normal slow morning. The breakfast sandwich was phenomenal. Turkey hollandaise, a buttery brioche bun with my egg cooked to perfection , roasted red peppers and sauteed onions . I enjoyed every last bite. The highlight of this meal for me though was the fresh tomato salad with some tasty vinaigrette and a sprinkle of herbs. It was so simple yet executed perfectly. I made this review simply because that tomato salad was amazing. We love coming here. We only have a few other breakfast places we really like but this one is the closest and never disappoints us. We only go out with the intention of treating ourselves so price really isn't an issue. Most of the meals I get there are around the 16 dollar mark. Which I feel is great with the price of groceries being so high. Totally worth it. Will be back again. read more

This place is pretty yummy. Our waitress was Juliebell. She was absolutely awesome. If you go, get her. We had a table of 8. She handled us all awesomely and professionally. I personally got the fig and goat cheese omelet with a unicorn mimosa. The omelette comes with prosciutto, but I got it on the side because I don't eat it. They use A LOT of prosciutto. The omelette was fluffy and so yummy. Potatoes are always on point. We had one guy at our table order a normal Bloody Mary. It tasted like it had pickle juice in it. Juliebell asked the bartender who said it was the normal one. It wasn't. She made him a new one and it was spot on. Just shows how awesome Juliebell is. Seriously. Also, super important.
