This place sucks. Some Mexican dude who can barely speaks said he is busy today on 6/28, when they are supposed to be open all day for service. The quality is very poor, as is the customer service experience. He is likely charging sucker customers top bucks and ripping them off, all the while giving excuses that he is busy all day to other customers who ask for a fair price. I'd been looking for a place to get my car detailed; since Formula Auto Care does detailing and regular hand washes, I figured I'd give them a try for a wash first to see how they did. Not. Good. At. All. First off, I got there on time for my appointment (8.30am), only to be told that "they" don't get in until 9am. I agreed to leave my car and went to get some coffee; came back to find that the person listed in the booking system, Martin, wasn't the one working on my car. There are a number of people listed as options for the hand wash service, so it's not as though I should expect someone else to work on my car when Martin is the one that I chose from their system; but I made the choice not to complain; so long as he does a good job, right? Well, he didn't. Even though my car was there for almost 1.5 hrs, I found that the car just wasn't clean. There were some bird poop marks that I was told would have to be buffed out - okay, fine. But right next to those was some above-surface schmutz that should have come off with either the water spray or a wipe down - when I pointed it out to him, he wiped it like "ta-da!"... as though he'd done something wonderful. By this time, I had to leave to make another appointment; but I can tell you that I left frustrated. When I got to my destination, I took a moment to take some pictures, because I couldn't believe how bad a job was done, inside and out; I've only posted three, but trust me, there were more. Aside from more areas of schmutz on the exterior (that again, should/would have come off easily had a good hand wash been done), the carpet in the back wasn't vacuumed, and the digital screen was covered with smudges (as in, it obviously hadn't been touched at all). I won't be using them for my detailing - if they can't get a basic hand car wash right, there's no way I would spend the exorbitant amount for a detailing at this establishment. read more

Dropped off car to Stefano and he took care of everything. The staff did a careful and meticulous job in restoring my SUV to like brand new condition. Don't give this hand car wash your money for the sole reason Esteban is a POS. He prioritizes customers by who he knows and what time of car they have. If he gets wind of you using another hand car wash he gives you an attitude and subpar service. He pretends to be an owner but, he's NOT! Their pricing is great ... ($175 for detailing and Clay Bar Treatment vs quotes of $250 - $400 in the area. So happy!!!!!!! Thank you Martin! If you have to wait for your vehicle, there's a comfortable waiting area with Cable TV area (I was able to control the remote); sanitary ladies room, and easy view of my car as it was being cared for. Bonus: for me, this stretch of Steinway was awesome... lots of shopping and dining; banks; great clothing outlets. Great if you have to kill time. Plus, if you schedule your appointment around 12-ish, you can see a feature film at the UA CINEMA that's within ear shot. Pretty good hand car wash spot in Astoria Queens, there aren't that many options around here for hand wash, it's indoors and they have a small customer waiting area which is important during cold winters and hot summers. They do a good job cleaning in and out, and do their best to make sure the entire car is dry when you leave. read more

On Christmas day I managed to spill an entire iced coffee in the passenger's seat of my car! I tried a few car upholstery cleaners that pulled some of it out, but inevitably when I got in the car I was overwhelmed with creamer smell. I got some very basic quotes that were quite a bit more expensive than I thought ($150+), but Formula was reasonably priced at $80 - for an extra $20 they did the exterior as well. Considering the holiday season, they asked me to bring it back the next day, which was very reasonable. And the work was GREAT - had that nice Just Cleaned smell for a few days, and now it's just no smell at all! Super highly recommended for interior work, and the external was also excellent. read more

This is probably my 3rd time coming here for a wash and wax on my Durango.. Takes some time (about 2 hrs) but they get down and dirty. Door jambs, vents, clean the rims, etc. Nice little lounge area with fios for you to watch some tv while you wait. The price is VERY reasonable considering the time, effort, and location for a 100% hand wash. I mean no machines at all. 2 buckets and a hose, feel me? Also got my tints (5% around and 30 on windshield) here about a year ago. Did a great price for a great job. I'll include pics of those as well. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I brought in my car for service about a month ago. They took my car right away, and offered for us to sit in the waiting room while they hand washed my car. I was told it would take between 60-90 minutes, which was expected. I decided to run some errands while my car was in their care. I was gone for about 40 minutes and decided to head back and wait in the waiting room for the remainder of the time. About 10 minutes later, the guy servicing my car let me know it was done. From afar, the car looked great! But when he pulled the car outside, I saw there were details that were obviously missed. The front grill had water spots that were clearly visible in the sun. There were some scuff marks that were still on the car that I assumed would be taking care of - they weren't scratches. I pointed all of this out to the guy and he seemed surprised he missed them . Anyway, it took another 15 minutes for him to address all my concerns, but I noticed that his colleagues came out to see what the issue was. They helped him out and I was out of there. All in all they did a good job but, for the money, I shouldn't have to point out obvious scuffs on the door panels that wiped off easily with a micro fiber cloth....it's an auto detailing center...so there's a certain expectation that comes with that. It won't stop me from trying the place again, but I'll probably be more specific with who I want working on my car the next time I book online. The guy I got gave me the impression he was pretty new to the team so, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I paid for the in /out cleaning SUV for 2015 Honda CR-V. At first look, I thought it was a great job but then when I decided to take some photos for the review it's when I noticed the screw ups. They peeled some of the center ring of my new rims/wheels, as pictured, and did not inform me. They poorly wiped my dashboard, as pictured. They left water spots on the roof, as pictured. The all weather mats I have became really slick, as if they brushes it with oil. Outside of those problems, it looks great but I can't believe I tipped $20 to ruin my rims! read more

Guys here are always welcoming and nice, definitely worth the wait. Usually I'll come here, leave my car and go to the gym or something while I wait. Sometimes you do have to wait a little while but for quality work I'm fine with it. I've been to a couple different spots around the area and I have to say this is the best quality work I've gotten on my car as far as a hand wash. I've also gotten my car hit at another car wash spot in corona, guy at the end of all of it did the right thing and paid for my damage to my rear bumper. I came to formula Auto Care and they took care of my bumper and it came out looking brand new! I made an appointment and was really looking forward to a nice car wash. Their policy is to cancel with more than 4 hours before your reservation or they charge you 20%. They emailed me to confirm my reservation. With everything so far I was thinking "great these guys run a tight shop." A couple times they've even gone further than a normal car wash and buffed out a few scratches from minor scuffs with idiots on the road. I had my car paint corrected and ceramic coated by a detailer in New Jersey. I needed a local place that knew coatings/car care to maintain and hand wash the car. I contacted the owner who asked that I contact the detailer that had done the coating to ensure the proper products are used. This right here let me know I contacted the right place. He basically turned down my money to ensure the car would be done properly first!! After contacting my detailer I brought the car in. Let the formula one team know it was coated and needed a low PH soap. The end result was fantastic. The owner met with me again after the car was done to discuss the car and the plan for its care moving forward. I am very knowledgable about caring for a coated car and keeping the paint free of swirls and have a realistic expectation of the longevity of the coating itself. The owner and I clearly saw eye to eye on the risks of having multiple places caring for the car and the clear benefit of a single place. He has my business! For those considering this place for your car care please do yourself and your car a favor and go. There are some negative reviews, I read them, evaluated the content and the owners response and knew some/most were either not legit or didn't give him a chance to correct it. I tried Formula 1 for the first time. The place is nice and spacious and can handle 6-7 cars the same time. The waiting room is in the back where you have great lighting and a constant view of your car as they work on it. I took my car here to get a wash and wax after seeing lots of positive reviews on Yelp. I liked the attention to drying after a thorough wash. They even used a high pressure air pump to blow off all the water droplets before waxing. The service guys are efficient and friendly. One of the best hand wash shops I have ever been to. There a lot of cleaning steps so even a bad job can be a million times better then your regular wash with great potential to grow. Only reason they didn't get 5 star is: - no double bucket used. They only power washed then hand wash it down then vacuum & wipe - no set pricing. In response to Ariel's comment, that's because my wife and I were waiting inside of the waiting room. And we are 100% sure that there was no scratch on the windshield before the car wash. The scratches were so bad and very difficult to ignore as they are right in front of driver and passenger side windshield and we are talking about a one month new car. The towel that was used is rough and I don't think anyone should use that type of towel to wipe your car and windshield. The towel they used was left in my trunk. The Audi dealer told us that the dust in the towel may be the reason that caused the scratches and swirls on the paint. read more
