We had resigned ourselves to pretty basic (ie "UGLY") granite due to our budget. But I drive past this fabricator almost every day near my house, and decided to stop in on a whim to see if they could beat a price that another fabricator had quoted me on a slab I had seen at a warehouse. Isa greeted me cheerily and said she'd do a little research. By the end of the day she had sent me quotes on several slabs, including the one I was interested in. Her quote beat out the other fabricator (and she didn't know the competitor's price!), but she suggested I take a look at another showroom in The Colony called Verona Marble, to see if there was anything there I liked. Pulling up in front of the place, I quickly realized they would have NOTHING in my price range, but I went in anyway, and fell in love with multiple slabs I knew I could never afford. I sent her the ones I liked, and to my shock, one was square in my budget range, and the other 2 I could have pulled off. However, my favorite slab was the one that she quoted within my budget, and that's the one we picked. It's a new type of finish called "iced," which is a combination of the new, trendy "leathered" finish (which offers a coarse, almost pebbly surface) with a final polish that only shines up the larger, highest patches of the stone. It's utterly breathtaking to look at, AND touch. Visually and texturally stunning. Their quote on this slab was lower than quotes for even the basic, cheap slabs I was getting from other contractors, I could not believe it. (The base granite in the slab was an otherwise drab, basic, grey granite you see everywhere, but the finish transforms it into something that looks super high-end and perfectly matched the look in my new kitchen. This is why it was in my price range, the granite itself is cheap, it's the finish that elevates it.) They scheduled measurements/templates for the day after my contractor was supposed to finish installing my cabinets. Unfortunately, he had to come back that morning for a couple of hours to finish, so he was present when Granite Fabricators came to template. This meant I had to reschedule templating for later in the day, incurring an extra fee. (My cabinet contractor's fault.) However, they measured at 2pm, and the countertops were installed THE NEXT DAY. (Keep in mind, this was in January, which is the slowest month for countertop fabricators.) As a chef, not having a kitchen means not having income, so I was SO impressed with this turnaround time. Something to note is that their people showed up early for EVERY appointment at my house, so if you have a 2pm appointment time, please be ready to expect them up to an hour early. As someone who works from home, this was not a big deal for me, but if they had arrived at their stated time (or a bit later, as most contractors do), I might not have had to pay for a reschedule when they showed up while my cabinet guy was finishing up. Overall, I am utterly thrilled by Granite Fabricators of Dallas. Their prices can't be beat, Isa and Elva in the office are super friendly and follow up quickly, and our new countertops have astounded everyone who has seen them. They look ultra-luxe, far beyond what we expected to get with our budget.

The…read morecommunication was not always smooth during the process, and we became so frustrated that we got other three bids to see if we could find someone other than Stone Age to replace our granite countertops. As it turned out, Stone Age was the cheapest by a lot. That is the only reason that we decided to go with them. Our new granite is beautiful and we are very pleased with the result. On the positive side, our installer Abraham was wonderful and the key to the success of the project. Not only is he a nice person, he approached our kitchen as if it was his own. He was very conscientious and cared about doing a great job. We were very pleased with him. It's too bad that other people in the company do not have the same work ethic as he. At the end of the day, however, I am not able to overlook a lack of professionalism and that is the reason for 2 stars. Communication with Denise was poor throughout which made us feel as if we were not important. A light fixture was broken during installation and no offer was made to replace it. A wall was gashed that we had to repair ourselves. A sink was installed backwards (!) so it had to be taken out and re-installed. The drain was not installed correctly so the sink did not retain water. The water lines were not cleared of debris after the new faucets were installed so that first usage resulted in a white film on our dishes. What really irritates me is the way we were treated after we fulfilled our contractual obligation and paid in full on the day the granite was installed. I asked that the drain stopper be installed correctly and that the sink be resealed to countertop. The plumber who showed up gave every reason under the sun why he could not do the job instead of just doing the job. When I asked for old silicone to be removed before new silicone applied, he refused and left the house in a huff. I had been told by Denise that he would do the drain stopped and apply new silicone. I complained to Denise that he did not do his job and her reaction was to stop communication. She apparently got pissed because I complained about her plumber who refused to do his job. I asked for an re-appointment for the silicone to be applied to the sink. Denise never answered. I then asked her to send a picture of the silicone product so we could buy and finish the job by ourselves. She ignored me and never answered. Thus, technically, thanks to Denise, the job was never finished even though Stone Age was paid. If this is the way you think customers should be treated, this is the company for you. We still have our master bath to re-do but I would not consider using Stone Age again, despite the fact that Abraham does good work.

Purchased our double 6-pane front door through our builder, and before we were even a year out, the panels in the bottom of both doors have separated and we can now see light through both from the inside. After contacting our sales rep, beginning many months ago, Joe, NUMEROUS times, there has been no resolve. He was VERY aware that the door was made incorrectly from the start and assured us that after install if there were issues, that it would be taken care of. The door is wood, showing very poor quality, and response to our issues has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

They sell doors, windows and molding material to home builders and general contractors. Unfortunately, my company is one contractor that they are trying to harm. My company's attorney will be filing a lawsuit next week regarding my disputed account with this company. They will not standby any mistakes that their staff makes during the ordering, delivery or accounting process. This company continues to stiff contractors with invoices on mis-ordered materials, incorrect quantities and incorrect sizes. If you refuse to pay The invoice for the incorrect items, they will file liens on your customers' houses in an attempt to force you to pay for the mistake. The sales representatives for the company have become aware of the problem and are leaving to work for their competitors. Good for them! When attempting to dispute an invoice, Pamela Webb, VP of accounting, continues to email out conflicting information, vague and rude responses and a complete disregard for your attempt to assist in correcting a problem that only affects the customer, the most important person. If you asked to speak with the owner, the management team has been instructed to refuse. This forced my company into filing a lawsuit to get their attention. Apparently we are not the only company they have attempted to harm. When reading other reviews online and through other general contractor and homebuilder networks, we have determined that there have been several complaints with this company for the same behavior. Be careful if you choose to do business with Texas door and trim, Inc.
