Since when has a fair evaluation ever been insulting? 98% is excellent so if you want to risk 2% to be questionable aesthetically, structurally and "is this even legal" they'll probably be ok In my case that 2% is a big deal. They are extremely high priced. So with the price tag comes the expectation of awesome high end results. Not my experience.

After getting quotes ranging from $70K to $160K based on incredibly opaque price transparency, we ultimately decided to hire subcontractors separately (GCs make car salesmen look like amateurs). The customer should not need to pull the lead and press for answers about whether a 40 year old header needs to be replaced if trade can see that the header is fine. See photo. Contractors and trade should be honest from the start, beginning with the initial estimate. Other red flags (in retrospect) worth mentioning that are consistent with other recent reviews: -The employee who provided an estimate showed up over an hour before the scheduled time, examined our garage framing from only the outside, and did not return to finish the estimate an hour later as promised. -LBW scheduled our job a week later than initially agreed. -The lead asked open ended questions about the scope of the job upon arrival at the job, making it unclear whether he knew what work needed to be completed. As pleasant as the lead and office administrator were, it feels like we were hustled. If you engage with LBW, make sure you need the work!

There was no apology or reason for the shotty work, just "Well that's why we are here to fix it.", I called and asked that the owner call us. We received no call. This job cost us over $900, but not worth half the amount. They lack respect for property and seem to care less about quality work. We do not recommend this company. Here's the full story: The brutal Texas sun has never been kind to our west facing front doors. In fact, it wants to burn them to a crisp! Before we fully grasped this concept we mistakenly bought doors made of solid wood. Over time they badly faded, cracked and split. The doors were basically destroyed in a couple of short years, but they weren't going down without a fight! They wanted to take our entryway hardwood floor down too. The door cracks allowed water to seep in which buckled, warped and molded the hardwood floor. Obviously they HAD to go. This is where Designer Door & Window comes in. When we visited their showroom looking for new doors Steve gave us a great sales pitch. His doors were durable! Beautiful! The best doors ever! That all sounded well and good but at the time we just desperately needed ones that didn't leak. Of course he swore to us that that would not be a problem at all. Two months later and $10,000 poorer we got our new Provia doors installed. I have to point out here that we did ask Steve during the ordering process if we could move the speakeasy windows down slightly so we could better see out of them. He obliged but didn't make it clear just how low they would be. When the doors arrived I took one look at them and my heart sank. The speakeasy windows were practically in the center of the doors. It looked odd and ugly. But it was too late to do anything at this point as these were custom made doors. And as long as they didn't leak I guesssss I could live with their unattractiveness. But they did leak, A LOT!!! About a month after installation Steve made his first house call to deal with the already leaking doors. Then over the course of the next couple years he came out several more times to service the continually leaking doors. He made adjustments here and there, replaced seals and reattached hardware, all the while assuring us that THIS TIME the doors were fixed for good. He also disclosed that Provia is a company based up north so they hadn't originally designed their doors to withstand our Texas heat, which may explain all the issues we were having. Now roughly 2.5 years later I get panic attacks when I hear thunder rumbling because the rain leaves puddles inside the doors to this day. And, the hardwood floor (that was replaced at the same time as the doors) has buckled and warped again as a result. Steve stopped coming out to service the doors several months ago even though they are still supposed to be under warranty. But it's not like his solutions ever effectively fixed the problem anyhow. Saying that this entire experience has been a nightmare would be a gross understatement. So it bears repeating, DON'T BUY THEIR DOORS!
