When you are a younger looking adult, people tend to treat you like a kid and there is not the same level of respect given to someone they perceive as a "real" adult. I am 20 years old and a paying customer. This is coming out of my own pocket, not my parents'. Despite that, I was spoken to in a condescending way and over explained something as simple as making a payment, which felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Regarding my aligners, I was unhappy with the initial results and paid an additional $310 to receive more sets. I was given seven aligners and told that was all my teeth needed to be straight. After completing the seventh set, one of my teeth still had a visible gap. I am now being asked to pay another $310, when this could have been avoided if the correct number of aligners had been provided from the beginning. Overall, the professionalism has been disappointing. Staff are warm and patient with children and older adults, yet blunt and dismissive toward me. It feels as though I am brushed aside rather than treated as a paying adult patient. On top of this, appointment wait times are excessive. It is common to wait 15 to 30 minutes past a scheduled appointment time, even when arriving on time. I'm also having to wait over 15 minutes just to make a simple payment of 10 dollars. this should've been something that took 5 minutes. read more

Hindsight being 20/20, I would avoid this business for the following reasons: Unacceptable high pressure car salesman like tactics relayed through a minor patient. "Text your parent (waiting outside) and ask if they want to pay full price later, or half price today for that add on service. We need an answer now." NEVER OK to confront or relay through a child and indicative of what I have experienced here. High pressure sales to pay for whitening 3 years in advance---i.e.- pay for whitening before braces go on. Why? Braces come off, then wait over 30 days before whitening can be scheduled? Strange sales on the front side. They bid $8800 for child's braces. When I left to assess that pricing, and discovered it was very high, I was later offered $5800. True story. Finally, the office lady is agressive and seems to enjoy confrontation. She should be reminded who the customer is in the dynamic. Very unprofessional. Zero stars. read more

Have my daughter's braces done at this place for about a year and half. I am glad it is close to the end and ready to get it removed. For we really had unpleasant experience for last a few appointments. The staffs were so insensitive. We went to the appointment straight after I pick up my daughter from school. As highschoolers, her daily schedule is very busy and she doesn't have time to brush her teeth at school. So there were some food residues along some of the gum lines. The way the staffs discussed about it with us, it seems like we are so dirty and we don't brush our teeth. The intention might be good, but both my daughter and I feel we were discriminated. In our last appointment, it supposed to install the back retainer for the upper teeth, however, we were told the retainer was delivered to a different location, we have to wait 4 more weeks to get it reordered. And remember, if you need more flexible and convenient office hours, consider other places: they don't work during weekend, and no work on Fridays too. Smiles, comfortable and inviting waiting spaces, peaceful aquariums, a movie wait room, and cookies on the way out describe a bit of the SmileDoctor experience that was formerly Forrest Orthodontics. My sons professional care from Joanna, including a follow up call later in the week to ask about pain, care, and general offerings of answered questions makes this a unique experience. He is using the Invisalign system to correct his bite. They even honored our request to wait so he could finish his choir all state audition (he made TX All State Mixed Choir!) without interruption his care. Dr Forrest was great nice and all but cost was rather high. My teeth unfortunately look worse after coming here. I became pregnant at the end of my treatment and was unable to get my retainers, my teeth actually look worse. Called about my retainers was informed I wasn't getting them. Even though I was completely paid off and retainers paid for. NEVER refunded my money either. Smh But the office is beautiful read more

Quite simply, I will be forever thankful for Dr. Forrest and his team. My son had a childhood injury that stunted the development of his front two teeth. He was seen by another dentist who made us feel hopeless about the issue. We were thankfully referred to Dr. Forrest who put us at ease. The office is the Disney World of orthodontic offices. Everything is professional and top-notch. Each person is warm and friendly and the place is well lit and inviting. After his treatment regimen, my son's front teeth are coming in. Now he has braces. From the moment you enter this office you feel like a priority. The staff at Forrest Ortho is welcoming and professional. The lobby is clean and inviting complete with freshly baked cookies, coffee bar and beverage refrigerator. There is an actual theater with comfortable theater seating and arcade type video games for the kids to enjoy while waiting. Dr. Forrest is treating 3 of my 4 kids for orthodontic work. They love him. He thoroughly explains what he's doing in a manner that not only I understand, the kids understand as well. They actually look forward to seeing him. His work is beautiful. Spent an hour waiting to be seen today (no exaggeration). Front desk was full of staff or just young girls sitting there unable to assist. Was told they were understaffed, this should not happen specially after a holiday. Office should be better prepared! (Nor did I receive an apology for ridiculously wait time). It's a nice office but it's more flashy then friendly/personable. Most kids will like this place as it's trendy, free water, coffee, cookies, theater etc. $$$$, but when your looking for an orthodontist should you be looking for a "cool" office? Dr. Forrest comes off nice almost charming and I feel it's Not sincere as every time I see him it's the same routine/act and he has no clue who I am. Dr. Forrest stated it was very important that wisdom teeth be removed, which this was first apt since wisdom teeth were removed and although Dr. Forrest was there he did not even inspect mouth or come by. Also, when he does inspect he doesn't always wear gloves. My feeling it's more of a business rather then a doctors office if you know what I mean. From the warm baked FRESH cookies, movie theater/brushing station, gaming consoles, kind staff, understanding, patient orthodontist, we really are glad we were referred to them by Kidztown Dental! I was a former patient of Dr. Forrest as a teenager and I was always super happy with his staff and the work he did. Ten years later, I had to revisit and today really solidified my feelings towards Forrest Orthodontics. They're truly the best. Long story short, a permanent retainer that was put on my front two teeth broke. Almost immediately, my teeth started shifting and the dreaded gap between my teeth Dr. Forrest had fixed 10 years prior had returned. I don't live in Katy anymore, so I was forced to see a different orthodontist closer to where I live to try and fix the problem. The guy I saw was SO disrespectful, condescending, and overall mean about my teeth. He kept trying to force me to wear braces again and wouldn't answer any of my questions. Not to mention his office was old and smelled musty and had no privacy for the patients. I was frustrated with his treatment plan and lack of professionalism, so I made a special trip home to visit Dr. Forrest for a second opinion. I walked into the office and was met with smiling faces and a clean, bright office. Just like I remembered. One of the technicians, Sarah, took me back and told me that the problem I had could be fixed that same day. Such a relief! However, when she told me the $175 price tag, I cringed. I'm a broke college student with little extra income to throw around, and although I knew I would need to spend the money to fix my teeth I was already stressed about how I would make it happen and still be able to buy my groceries for the week. Dr. Forrest came in and checked my teeth after she made her recommendations. Then, out of nowhere Dr. Forrest, out of the pure goodness of his heart, said he would help me out and replace my permanent retainer for free. No $175 price tag. No braces. Nothing. I could walk away with my teeth fixed and still afford to live this week. Honestly, that was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. $175 doesn't sound like a lot, but to me that is a lot of money. The kindness Dr. Forrest and his staff showed me today meant more to me than they'll ever know. I'm choking up now just thinking about it. The generosity is so refreshing to see from a health care professional these days, and I will forever be grateful for Dr. Forrest and his staff for helping me out. If you are looking for an orthodontist, please look no further than Forrest Orthodontics. They're not just in the business of making money or churning out patients. Office flexibility is awful. I have glue from my permanent retainer on the back of my teeth sticking out because part of the chain fell out and they will not do anything to help. My tongue is bleeding and cut up and they couldn't make time to fix it. So now my tongue is bleeding still and I am finding new orthodontist. Do not recommend. read more

I have used Dr. Forrest and Dr. Winkleman for years! They are amazing orthodontists and are able to correct all sorts of crazy bite issues - even treating patience that other doctors had said "only surgery" would fix their problem. They are very professional, and nice. You are greeted with a smile, wait in a waiting room with coffee and cookies, have a theater room for younger siblings - and always treated with respect. My daughter just completed her orthodontic treatment with Dr. Forrest. We could not be happier with the results. I know I can be a perfectionist, and her teeth, smile and profile turned out beautiful, even better than I expected. We visited with a few different orthodontists in Katy before deciding to go with Dr. Forrest. At our initial consultation, he spent plenty of time with me discussing all my thoughts and concerns. During her treatment, if we had a problem with a wire or broken bracket, his office staff was always quick to return my calls and schedule and appointment to repair the issue. His office staff is courteous, welcoming and knowledgeable. Forrest Orthodontics is unique. In my opinion, Dr. Forrest is the BEST orthodontist in Katy. read more

I'm not as enthused as other reviewers. The office is ultra-glam, with splashy fishtanks, memorabilia, a media room and refreshments. The difference: I'm an adult patient who opted for Invisalign. After paying $5800 up front, I'm getting results...but have quite literally only seen Dr. Forrest a few very brief times in the year that I've been under his care. After 25 trays (sets) of Invisalign, at my last visit (which should have completed the straightening of my teeth) I said my teeth obviously weren't fully straightened yet and would need additional trays (included in the package price if necessary). Dr. F mumbled something about patient compliance...and that's when I got mad. I've totally complied, and didn't appreciate the inference that somehow my lack of results was because I'd left trays out or whatever. Finally, there's been an 8-week wait for new trays. 8 weeks! And no apologies from the practice. It should have been patently obvious 9 months into my treatment that 12 months wasn't going to completely do the job, so I don't understand why new trays couldn't have been ordered then so I didn't have to spin my wheels waiting now. Maybe there's a valid reason, but nobody has taken the time to offer me one. I'm not thrilled, and feel shunted aside by the bread-and-butter kiddie/parent clientele who obviously make up the bulk of the practice. read more

Here is my experience: I transferred my invisalign to Dr. Forrest mid-way through my treatment because I moved to Katy from out of state. I brought all of my trays (paid for) to Dr. Forrest when I moved. Before I moved, I had requested my original orthodontist remove the buttons which attached my rubber bands because I was getting married and didn't want them in the photos. I was advised to get them reattached as soon as I got to Houston. They were off for about two weeks by the time I went to Dr. Forrest. Upon our first consultation, I told him about the buttons and rubber bands, and he said it looked like I didn't need them anymore. I thought "ok! If the Dr. Says I'm good, I'm good." He also made a joke about how I conveniently married into insurance, which was so inappropriate. I had appointments with the Dr. Every 6 weeks to pick up my new aligners. I had 4 1/2 months left of invisalign when I first went to him. After our initial consultation, I NEVER saw Dr. Forrest again. I mean, I saw him strutting around his office talking to people about selling his house to buy another huge house and how he absolutely had to have a pool.... But he never monitored my progress. I was charged $800+ for these visits to see his staff for 5 minutes every six weeks. When I got to my second to last tray on Christmas day, it wasn't fitting quite right. I waited until the following Monday to call since it was the holiday, and I discovered they were on vacation for two weeks. I called the emergency number because I didn't know what to do, and they told me to wear the last tray that fit properly for two weeks until they could see me. I went in, and they said they were going to have to take new impressions and send them off to invisalign. I still did not see Dr. Forrest. I was informed via phone call (not with Dr. Forrest but an assistant), that invisalign prescribed me eight more months of treatment because I NEEDED RUBBER BANDS. I was so upset, I called my original orthodontist to find out if this was because my buttons were never reattached. She said she couldn't say for certain, but more than likely. She also said it's normal for the last couple of trays not to fit at first, but after a couple of days they will settle. This is something the assistants never told me, probably because they didn't know which is probably why I needed to see the actual orthodontist at some point! I waited for EIGHT WEEKS for my new trays. The office was to call me when the aligners arrived, but they did not. I finally called them because I was tired of the wait and they said, "oh, they're here. We forgot to call you."I wrote a letter to the main invisalign person I had been dealing with telling her that I wanted to see Dr. Forrest at EVERY appointment until my treatment was finished. She said she would make sure that happened. I went to my first check up after I wrote that letter: I was not seen by Dr. Forrest. I went to a second appointment: I was not seen by Dr. Forrest. I was also paying nearly $800 for the refinement. I was told that money was for my office visits (where I would, inevitably, never see the Dr. I finally researched and went to another orthodontist for a second opinion. Dr. Rose told me the way they were treating me was totally unacceptable. He encouraged me to write a letter stating I wanted to see the Dr. at every visit, and as the paying patient, that was my right. Dr. Rose spent AT LEAST 45 minutes talking to me, listening to my concerns and answering questions. He encouraged me to try to finish out my treatment with Dr. Forrest. I felt I couldn't trust Dr. Forrest's office and did not want to give them any more opportunities. Needless to say, I decided to never go back to Forrest orthodontics. They have a showy office and cater to keeping the children entertained and thinking that's the "cool" place to go. I was not impressed with the one time I was seen by Dr. Forrest nor the following visits with his staff which cost me about $1,000. It's such a basic thing for the treating doctor to monitor a patients progress. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I wanted to receive the care I was paying for. I now see DR. LARRY ROSE and would highly recommend you check his reviews. I don't need a movie theater, cookies, coffee, bottled water or any other showy amenities. I need a doctor that cares about me as an individual. I could walk into Forrest orthodontics right now and Dr. Forrest wouldn't even know if I were a patient or not. read more

Difficult to get hold of the office. Bad quality of brace, fell off or broke all the time causing pain, then they would charge you if the brace was broken. The treatment stretched much longer than the original plan when we signed up. Won't recommend to anyone! read more

The office physically is beautiful but the person scheduling the appointments is HORRIBLE and has a very ugly attitude. If you want a pleasant visit that starts with someone that is professional and customer friendly DON'T GO HERE!!! Apparently asking when you will be seen when you explained the day before to the same person that you needed to be in and out is a problem. I was told I would be the first appointment so I could be out in a few minutes and then I reminded the lady about it, she got an attitude and told me I could go else where. I drove a good distance to go here and not only was it a waste of time, but my son then received an unexcused tardy, and didn't get the service I had an appointment for. Instead I was told several times we are happy to have you go else where. This is not the kind of place that cares about their customers. There are far more places that do care about their customers so I would look else where as the lady suggested because clearly they don't need anyone's business. read more
