SO glad I found this practice. I came for a second opinion after going to another dental practice. I was very worried as the previous dental practice told me I had advanced periodontitis, bone loss, and multiple cavities, and needed 2k worth of work done out of pocket. Dr Ho and the hygienist (I wish I remembered her name) eased my concerns and took time to explain to me that it was a very inaccurate diagnosis and why it was. Everyone here was so kind, including the front desk, and shout out to Anthony, who helped me schedule an appointment and provided me with insurance knowledge. Had a crown put on so bad that it broke The new crown was so poorly done they now I'm going to have to get this one replaced by a new office Welch dental will not back up their work !! They don't take any medicare advantage dental plans so that makes them out for me. I felt embarrassed by having to explain why I could not get certain service. I simply could not afford it. Not great experience. Kind of a long story I did not appreciate the cleaning. It was painful. The dentist was very dismissive when she asked what was wrong. She continued to request my opinion about how bad the dental hygienist was with the woman in the room. It was a really bad experience, but I didn't want add insult to injury. Finally, I asked the dentist to drop it and move on. I'm tired of paying doctors and dentist to treat me badly . The experience this morning with Welch Dental Group's agent is horrible, the lady K who called us trying to reschedule our appointment due to weather conditions which is very understandable, however she is super inpatient and unprofessional trying to push us to a location that is 50 min away from our address. Otherwise will put our appointment 6 months later from the original appointment date. We initially made this appointment half year ago. We liked this place, the dentist, assistant and all stuffs are super nice and friendly. They really need have this agent to work on her communication skills and be more professional and patient with their patients. read more

Today I've spoken with my hygienist and the office manager. My hygienist refused to answer my question on if she can do a basic cleaning first me. She told me she needed upper management to tell me that due to the ADA 4346 they can't do a basic. So I said okay I'll do what you want since you're forcing me to do it. This is my revised response.... I've accepted and said I'd pay the 160.00 with my care credit. She then said she'd declined my service because I'd like to inform more. Can you tell me why? read more

I feel scammed. They wanted to take xrays and examine the same tooth 3 times and charge me every time while farming me out to a surgeon who charged me $200 to tell me he doesnt take my insurance. Dr. Boktour (sp?) seems like a cool guy, but they just wanted to milk me for every penny they could without actually conducting any dentistry. Im out about $500 and would be out more if I had let them do yet another xray and exam on the same tooth. I know other people who go there. They like it there. All of the dental work is great. My big issue is the availability of hygiene appointment slots. Currently, if you try to book an appointment today, they will give you first availability in August. For new patients, that sucks. For patients that just finished a cleaning and need to schedule a new cleaning in 6 months, that also sucks. In other words, you can't get an appointment in 6 months and you can't schedule 2 appointments in advance. That means they are currently incapable of supporting all of their patients to allow each to have the recommended 2 cleanings per year. That is a big problem. And then when you ask them if they are still taking new patients, they say YES!! Does this ring a bell for anyone regarding airlines overbooking flights and forcing valid ticket holders to give up their seats? read more

Let me just start off by saying YES! Yes, you should pick them, yes I recommend them, and YES they are worth the time and effort of waiting. They do have a very long wait list but it's because they are that dang goood! I was one of the idiots who didn't go to them first...I went to another "dentist" office down the street and I ran away very fast and WDG was my "second opinion" pick. They informed me that I was much better than previously diagnosed! Thank God for real doctors and honest practicians! My doctor was super sweet and very laid back which made my appointment extremely chill and relaxing. The people skills that WDG provides are outstanding and I wholeheartedly believe that this will be my new dental office from now on! My wife and I are fairly new to Katy. We did not have a family dentist so we made our decision to visit Welch Dental Group based, in large part, on the high reviews. That was a mistake. Before making the appointment I told Welch that, because of health issues, I could not sit for long periods of time and would need to take a break at about the halfway point. I was told that would be no problem. When I arrived for my appointment the hygenist told me she could not authorize a break because she was kept to a strict deadline. Since when is good service strict? After our visit, my wife paid the bill and we walked to our car. A few moments later a Welch representative came running after us claiming we did not pay enough. We tried to explain the mistake Welch made but they would not hear it. To avoid the confrontation we paid them twice. About a month later we received a refund for the amount we were forced to overpay. If only they had listened to my wife. If you are new in town, think twice before visiting Welch. read more

Going to make a crazy comparison here...you have heard of the big Christian "MEGA CHURCHES" especially in Texas right? Welch Dental is the dentist version of the big "mega church." They have a new HUGE office with the latest technology and all the bells and whistles. They are also always busy with tons of people that shuttle in and out to pay for this huge plush building. Why not 5 stars? They are only open on some Friday's and getting an appointment can be tricky, they get booked far out real fast. read more

Did only the front part of my teeth and didn't even do the bottoms of my teeth on the top row. And it hurt. She had green hair. Just don't have her, or if you do tell her to slow down. I have been looking for a dentist in Katy and recently had an amazing experience. Cassidy was my dental tech and she gave the best cleaning ever. In many years of going to the dentist, I've not had a tech clean and remove plaque without once nicking me or causing an ounce of pain. It was fast and pleasant. First when you walk in you are greeted and taken care of quickly. I was able to fill out my new patient paperwork online prior to appointment. That made things a lot smoother. The ladies were so nice at the front desk. The office and and bathrooms were very clean. I think that's always a plus. The facility is huge. So it's safe to say you shouldn't have a problem getting an appointment with one of the many hygienists. I had a great experience during my dental cleaning. My Hygienist Paula was super sweet and made me feel comfortable. She was knowledgeable and caring. I will be recommending to all of my friends. read more

Money pit ! My dental coverage plan could not cover their prices , after meeting with a sales counselor to get mybteeth cleaned and having been their for most of the morning my out of pocket was 2,500.00 for deep cleaning and a cavity . I was in utter shock when I attempted to ask for a simple teeth cleaning that my insurance would cover and they declined my request stating you cant have a regular cleaning only periodontal since I inquired at the begining of my visit. Incredible nonsense!! I went to another dentist office that same morning and got my teeth cleaned for 45.00 after insurance paid it"s portion. Welch will bleed you or your dental plan dry. If you think otherwise book an appointment today but be prepared to pay out of pocket unless you have a very good dental plan! read more

The customer service and patient care here is EXCEPTIONAL!! I am so grateful to Dr.Ho and the entire team of people that work at this facility. I feel taken care from the moment I walk through the door. I experience a great deal of anxiety during procedures, and the willingness to give me whatever I need to feel more at ease is always greatly appreciated. Today was a blanket and heavy X-ray smock. Had my first visit here today scheduled with Alexis and it was GREAT! She was very professional throughout the whole visit while keeping a friendly conversation going to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible. She made sure to inform me on any spots that I needed to keep a closer eye on and just overall seemed very knowledgeable when it came to her job. The office was very clean and well organized, almost looked as if the building was brand new! Every employee I encountered was very polite and respectable. Just was a real "homey" vibe! My visit was great Mandy was my dental hygienist, I explained to her the fear I've had for the dentist and she was so caring and understanding. She was extremely informative and did her best to try to keep me calm as she explained what my procedure would consist of after not being to a dentist for years.
