After the first day of getting my Lab/Pitt puppy Tito, I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I called Dog Wizard and was a little reluctant as I did not have much disposable income, but I am happy beyond belief that I continued with them. Jess is the best and taught me how to communicate with my new puppy in a fun and productive manner, which looking back now has been paramount for Tito. By the second week of having Tito he was walking better on a leash than many older dogs that I see. He is now almost 5 months (I got him at 8 weeks) and has better temperament and obedience than I thought possible for being so young. Tito constantly impresses every friend and stranger he meets with his social manners, with both dogs and people, as well as his several tricks. Jess also keeps her phone near and always answers any questions I have quickly, even though I am no longer paying her. Miracle workers! Truly. We have a lab mix that had been "spooked" very badly by a potential adopting family when she was 4 months. The foster mom told us she woke up the next morning a different pup. Very fearful. We adopted her at 9 months and worked with her with 2 other trainers. There was a slight improvement but nothing that really lasted. When she was 5 we moved to Ft Collins and were so frustrated because we couldn't take her anywhere. Nothing we did worked. We found the FCDog Wizard and after 2 lessons she was paying attention, staying in her "place" until told to break, wasn't ripping my arm off walking down the street and can now take her just about anywhere and she stays calm. IT'S A MIRACLE! The follow up weekly group dog walks and the ability to get extra tips anytime it's needed are added bonuses. During these classes I have seen dogs that couldn't get within 30 feet of other dogs become calm and obedient. I've seen dogs that are terrified of people become loving and sweet. Fort Collins Dog Wizard is incredible. I took my puppy for basic obedience somewhere else and he is very smart so learned the commands just fine. However he became dog and people (especially little kids) reactive as he got a little bigger because I did not know the "right" way to do these introductions. I did the off leash program and continued to work with Dog Wizard on properly socializing him. Their continuing support throughout the life of the dog (both individually and in the group classes) has been an incredible resource. My fur kid has gone from barking, lungeing, and snapping at kids and other dogs to licking and wanting loves, thanks to the guidance of the Dog Wizard family! I recommend these wonderful people (all of them) to everyone who compliments my dog's good behavior. Once your pup graduates, they also offer boarding services. My dog gets so excited when we roll into the neighborhood to drop him off; I know he has positive experiences when he is there and is always safe and well cared for. read more

Jax just returned home from the Jumpstart 21 (3 week) board & train program in which he was attending to work on reactivity, socialization, and basic obedience. This program is perfect for anyone who works full time and/or for doggos that need a "little extra", whatever that may be. German Shepherds are notorious for their intelligence and stubbornness... we had to make a lot of adjustments to our everyday life after Jax joined our pack and at times it could be both frustrating and challenging. Between the curriculum, facility, and trainers, I have nothing but amazing things to say about the entire experience! Both my husband and I were amazed to see his transformation over the 3 weeks he was there and have learned so much ourselves. We had a wonderful experience with Fort Collins Dog Wizard! I was looking for obedience training/classes for our 14 year old and her German Shepherd puppy, since my husband and I don't know a lot about dogs and we felt this huge puppy was getting a little out of hand and weren't sure how to train him. We went with the 4 private lessons, and those lessons were packed with demonstration, training, practice, and instruction. At first I was hesitant with the price, but it was definitely worth it. Now my daughter has these dog training skills for the rest of her life, the whole family has more confidence in what to do with a dog, and we have a well behaved pet. We had a wonderful experience with Jess. Whether your dog is unruly, hyper, aggressive or just needs a sense of direction- Jess is definitely the best trainer. I'm so thankful for the Dog Wizard! After going to two different places for training my puppy, the only thing he could pick up was how to be a decent walker. As he got older he started getting dog aggressive, so we decided to go to a consultation with them. Cullen was very well informed about everything, told us about all the different options and what each one would entail. We used Dog Wizard for our lab/pit bull rescue dog who was having fear and aggression problems. Jessica was amazing from the start! I have an Australian Shepherd named Summit who was very difficult to walk on the leash and pretty dog reactive. Brought home a 8 week old Rottweiler puppy 2 years ago and knew in the first week I needed professional help. Pup was food agressive and needed basic obedience!
