I came in to pick up a new colt 1911 I had ordered. I took the handgun apart and couldn't get it back together even with prior experience with 1911's. The Fort Liberty staff proceeded to hit it with a hammer and put a dummy scratch where the slide locking pin rests. The response to me seeing the damage was "why did you try to take a gun apart in a gun store". They refused to do anything about it and told me the gun was already mine and therefore the damage was now my problem. I had not even left the store with it and it was damaged. read more

I had my first interaction with Fort Liberty a couple of days ago. I have passed by for many years but never stopped in (my fault). I had a FFL transfer to them, due to wanting someone closer then who I was using. I went in and picked up my new firearm from them and it went well. No issue with the one guy that helped me. He was middle aged with a beard. Everything was smooth and like I would expect, so Kudos for that. There is a younger kid in there, tall and slender. He was a bit of an @ss. That has not deterred me completely from coming back and looking around again at this point, but I do see what some of the reviewers have wrote about rude staff. Their pricing is a little high, close to retail, but I cannot say for 100% because they may have some good sales. I only looked at a couple of guns and pricing, and I know my pricing. But they looked to have a good selection. It looks like they have more then Bradis or they are close. When I first seen the location, it did not scream we have a good selection, so I just never bothered with stopping. But like I said, they do not have a bad setup/selection. I am hoping to back in there in the next couple of weeks. I hope the owner see's this post and takes it to heart. I am not bashing anyone, just feedback at this point. The average Joe comes in and asks questions, don't let the little kid ruin it. We are the reason you are in business. And I have seen it at other dealers, where the staff thinks they are better then everyone else, or they seem like they do not want to be bothered (I have never directly experienced this, because I would just go spend my money elsewhere). This is not the only place I have seen rude staff, so you are not being singled out. I have acquired a nice selection of firearms over the years, and I definitely am not close to stopping. Plus I have 2 sons and a daughter that go shooting with me all the time. They are getting to the age of buying their own firearms soon. If someone is asking for you to take a transfer, step up and help them out. I was told the same thing, that the transferee had to reach out to Ft Liberty first. But this was a manufacturer as well, and not a podunk outfit out of BFE. Some customers may not know how all this works and you can explain it to them. It is not like someone is try to get your FFL number. Remember, there are a dozen gun stores on this side of Indy/Avon. You want to be #1, I am sure. Also, do you have an email we can sign up for? Sales, events or news. Maybe even a monthly newsletter with gun ranges near by and other useful tidbits. I am always looking for a range with more then 100 yards or one you can actually shoot an AR. Some ranges around town wont let you shoot them outdoors due to the distance a rounds can carry. read more

I purchased a used firearm for $20 more than a brand new one retails for. I was aware of this and was giving them benefit of the doubt as i understand the cost of doing business... Thinking I'd support a local business. When i got to the car and checked it out i noticed it only came with one magazine... The tag had said 2. I went back in to ask about it and the 2 had been scribbled out. I asked if i could return it and was told i could not. This was bait and switch pulled by con men. Over a $30 magazine they lost a lifelong customer who knows many folks in the firearms business and many firearms enthusiasts. I guarantee this will cost them thousands in the long run. They always have a good inventory of CZ handguns unlike some other stores in Hendricks county. Their prices are competitive as well. This is where I will go for future firearm purchases. read more

After getting to the point of being on a first-name basis and over 30 transactions including numerous firearm purchases and a many transfers, I will never do business with this "business" again. Why? Because I got treated like dog expletive over politely asking for the store to request an FFL from a seller THAT HAS THE SAME INSANE POLICY THESE GUYS DO! They will not send their FFL even to a well-known firearm dealer without first receiving the FFL of the dealer. The problem with that arises when the dealer has the exact same policy. We are now in an FFL stalemate. So, I send Doug (the apparent owner, although it doesn't seem like he knows much about running a business and I say that as the owner of several businesses) an email with the pertinent information, and politely ask for him to request the FFL from the seller directly. Since, you know, Doug appears to have the EXACT SAME POLICY about being asked to send an FFL to a random email. I did not ask him to send his FFL first. Just take five seconds to request the FFL directly from his company email address, because that is what I am being asked to do by the seller. The email gets no response. So then, I get a call that one of my other transfers has arrived. From the same employee that I usually deal with and have dealt with at least 15 times. Not only did he deride and mock me while laughing at my request, but practically got to the point of yelling at me over the phone because he was not even understanding what my request was. Just assuming that I was asking them to send their FFL first, which is not at all what I was asking. When I calmly tried to explain for a third time what I was actually asking, the employee handed me off to Doug. I think "Great, Doug knows me and will not just assume I am an idiot that does not know how they do business after dozens of transactions." Wrong. The insults continue, and Doug hangs up on me after I asked him to take the five seconds to directly request the FFL from the seller. After I have spent thousands of dollars in that store, and sent dozens of customers to him through my competitive shooting team and all of my friends and acquaintances in that world around Indianapolis. I have multiple transfers waiting there as I type this, and was going to buy a nearly $3000 Fostech shotgun and a couple Franklin triggers when I came in today. That is really what is the problem here. If I had been treated this way by a store where I had never done business, I would just find somewhere else. Being treated this way given my history with this store, I just don't understand. Maybe Doug does not realize just how much business I have sent him. Maybe he has more money than he knows what to do with already and feeling like he has a big appendage on the phone is more important to him than making more of it. Whatever the case, I'm not doing business with Doug anymore. And neither will most or all of the people I have already sent to him, or anyone else that asks me what dealer I use personally as a prominent figure in the 2A community around Indianapolis. I suggest everyone go to Premier Arms in Brownsburg instead. It is a little more of a drive for me, but Bryce is a fantastic human being and a fantastic business owner, unlike Doug. And as Doug told me on the phone just before he abruptly hung up on me, "Bryce can run his business however he wants to". Well, Doug, Bryce runs a decidedly better business than yours. I half expect Fort Liberty to do something like refusing my incoming transfers after seeing this review. Just because vindictiveness seems to be in the culture there. I will update this review and the various forum posts telling the story I told in this review if that happens. I will also update this review and those posts if this was a bad hair day situation and they decide to accommodate the 5-second request after all, although it won't matter because my assistant has already redirected the transfer to Premier Arms. I hope it was worth the few seconds it saved you, Doug. If you write a response to this review, that will take far longer than just sending that quick email would have. Although you will end up saving more time by no longer needing to deal with me or all of those people I have recommended over the years. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I'd give it a minus 5. Bought a brand new GSG 1911-22 from them on 2/21/22. Last night, 2/24/22, took it to Parabellum Firing Range in Avon, less that 50 rds fired, the brand new pistol malfunctioned. There currently is a live round in the chamber that will not come out. The firearm had feed problems from the very beginning forcing me to push on the rear of the slide to make it go back into battery. I believe there are magazine issues as well as the rounds do not pop up high enough to be chambered correctly. Lastly, I also believe the firing pin is damaged or broken as it will not fire the round stuck in the chamber. So, I took it back to the store, no help whatsoever...comments were, "You'll have to send it back to the factory" to which I replied, "The factory does not have my money, YOU do". Pretty piss poor when a place of business can't or won't stand behind a product they are more than happy to sell you. Caveat Emptor.....this place has gotten the last penny they'll ever get from me and I am making a concerted effort to inform anyone and everyone in the area about it. read more

Internet orders on Amazon: Do not order from this seller!! This seller Is Terrible!! Fort Liberty Sales does not care about customer service. They never apologized for their mistake and took over 2 months to get a refund. Amazon was not much help either. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge to get my money back. Right now there is a shortage of guns and ammo due to COVID. A couple of weeks ago, I went in there looking for some ammo, but I found a Sig that I had been looking for and didn't expect to find. So, I got out of there with the Sig and the ammo I was looking for. Great staff, even though they were very busy on a Saturday. read more

I went into fort liberty today looking for a new shot gun. I was looking forward to seeing the guns they had considering I have made previous purchases their. When I walked in I was asked to take my mask off very rudely so some camera can see me and take my picture (mugshot). I did what the dude said to keep me from arguing with him. 2 min later another guy walks in with his mask on and no one said a word to him. I waited about 5 more minutes and I asked him why he didn't ask the white gentleman to remove his mask. Stuttering over his words he said to me "I didn't see him" which I know for a fact he is not blind considering the thick ass glasses he was wearing. If your a person of color I ADVISE you not spend a Dine at this store!!!! read more

I went to Fort liberty to check out some guns today and walked in with my mask that I am protecting myself with doing this COVID-19 era. I was asked to remove my mask while in front of the security camera so that they can see my face(mugshot!). Once I thought about the policy I promptly left. A person shouldn't have to risk their health just because you guys are scared about someone so call "casing the place". That's not my problem!!!!! The store is a little smaller than a lot of others, but they are always willing to help hounding exactly what you want and if they don't have it in stock they will get it for you quickly.
