The staff was very knowledgeable, patient and professional. They were very focused on safety and explained instructions clearly. Seems pricey to me but I don't have anything to compare it to for reference. I do know they were pretty busy so it must be a popular and an acceptable price. They do have memberships. If you are familiar with other range pricing, then you would know. They kept an eye on Everything! They have soap to wash your hands with after shooting, which my husband says the other range he has been to did not have. It's a small but decent sized place. They have some safes, holsters, purses, ear protection and other auxiliary items in addition to guns and bulllets... again, I have no frame of reference for the price. I've purchased over 10 firearms from Indy Arms as well as used them for FFL transfers for blank AR lowers and online purchases in the past. 90% of the time the staff has been helpful and professional. I've been a patron there for over 5 years. Unfortunately, the last time I purchased a handgun there, there was a gentleman working there who I can only describe as slightly portly with long hair. He seemed incapable of making small talk without being insulting or rude. It even seemed to me that the other two employees were aware of the man's poor social skills and did their best to ignore the guy's extremely poor customer service skills. For reference: while waiting for my background check to go through, I casually mentioned that I had seen something called a dual Taper Lock system which had been made by a small AR-15 manufacturer which seemed to be extremely innovative as it provides a 360° equal amount of pressure when locking the barrel to the upper of the AR-15 as opposed to standard Barrel nuts while also manufacturing their barrels with tapered cuts running circularly around their barrels as opposed to length wise cuts which apparently reduced barrel flex by allowing their barrels to compress and expand slightly as opposed to flexing/whipping which affects accuracy. Both of these unique design elements were new to the AR world and apparently guarantee 1 MOA or sub MOA accuracy for 5000 rounds which is a pretty incredible claim. When I asked him if he had heard about this company or their claims, he said no but immediately started talking shit about it and even began to try to loudly tell his coworkers about this AR that "this guy" thinks is cool. SMH. THEY BOTH STRAIT UP IGNORED HIM. It was like they had delt with his crap before. The worst part is that I was not the only customer in the store that this employee was being rude to. There were three or four other customers in the store that had simple questions about handguns that they were looking at. If any of them ask any questions that he deemed to be below his standard of knowledge he would either roll his eyes or chuckle before answering in order to make them feel stupid. Its a nice location for an indoor shooting range as well as a firearm store. Good service with firearm transfers when ordering from out of state. Clean range and hourly pricing is good. Range is good for accuracy and basic shooting drills. The downside is, if you are into shooting competition and have your own reloaded ammo, it is not allowed per their policy. And drawing isn't allowed on the range. Would have love to be a member her in winter time but with the restrictions mentioned above, it's an unfortunate pass. read more

Went for a small outing with coworkers. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to get the 4 of us in 2 lanes next to each other. My coworker is a member so he got a discount. The gunsmith at Indy Arms deserves a public thank you! When my step son moved in with us he brought along a very beat up Remington Rolling Block that belonged to his paternal grandfather who was born and lived most of his life in the wilderness of Alaska. Everything about it was rusty and filthy and the step son just wanted it kept in the safe. So it sat. Sadly my step son unexpectedly passed away a few of months ago so I took the rifle to Indy Arms to see if it could still be usable. FYI, it was so worn that you couldn't tell even what caliber it was chambered for. Besides getting the rifle back in great, usable condition, the gunsmith provided a detailed account of the history of the Model 2 and all of the places where grandpa had figured out repairs on his own. Yep it's us! We came here to get in some target practice with my new friend and it didn't disappoint! If you're going to come more than once a month I HIGHLY recommend the membership (it pays for itself). The staff is super helpful and if they're not busy will give you some quick tips and trick to shoot properly. I would recommend bringing your own ammo as there is a national shortage of some sort. The application for a background check was misplaced. The document contains highly-sensitive, personal information. So, that was very troubling. We were told that because looking in the multiple places where the document could've been put in error was a manual process, the guy helping us couldn't look at that time. We left the phone number for them to call once it was found. That was a better option than completing another form that could later be lost/misplaced as well. Suggestion: If the filing system or procedures you follow are not working, adjust the system. That man was loud and dismissive and it was decided at that moment that no matter the outcome of the application being found or not, we would not be spending money at this establishment. He was rude and kept interjecting in our personal side conversation while also moving onto the next customer without finishing up with us. His demeanor was wrong on so many different levels! Work on your customer service skills and stop speaking so strongly to people who are patronizing your place of employment. We were told he'd look later today, possibly tomorrow and get back to us; we received a call back 45 minutes after leaving. Indy Arms is a gun store and shooting range located on the NE side of the city near Broad Ripple. This would be my first visit to a indoor gun range so I don't have alot to compare to. Indy Arms is clean and welcoming. They offer gun rental and when there are bullets, you can purchase bullets there as well. They offer an area for rifles and an area for handguns. They are very strict about safety and inspect large rifles before they are allowed to be shot. The prices are reasonable, about $20 hr for a handgun and higher for rifles. I suggest bringing your own paper targets as they charge for those. Indy Arms also provides classes on gun safey, Women and Guns and Shooting in darkness....all good skills to have for inexperienced gun users. Since it was my first time I had to get use to the sound of other shooters around me...the wall between shooters is high but not floor to ceiling so you can get hit by flying shell casings. The target holder is automatic an can be adjusted for distance. This is definitely a fun place to let off some steam and learn proper gun safety. read more

My lower rating isn't about the facility or service experience. It was nothing that has me itching to head back, but the staff was certainly friendly and willing to answer questions and chat. The guy we were working with was pretty knowledgeable and could make recommendations, though the second gun we ended up trying out seemed to be an odd pick considering he seemed to know it was extremely difficult to fire and was for a female with very small hands. But we took it back out, and he gladly switched it for another. My issue was with the ammo policy/cost of ammo. You must purchase their ammo when renting their guns, which is absolutely fine. However, the cost of the ammo is ABSURD. I cannot come up with the words to accurately express how insane this was. My next issue was that I was charged for an extra box. I was there on the 9th and didn't realize until I cleaned out my purse and found my receipt a couple days ago, so I'm not sure much can be done about that one. $15. My third problem is that upon receiving your email address, you are inundated with messages. Every day. Multiple times a day. Easy to fix? Yes. Irritating? Unbelievably. In summary, in store, the experience was fine. Nice, you could say. The things that came up after really just struck a few too many nerves. read more

So, on Saturday March 6th I went to my first ever gun range! I arrived there around 4ish that afternoon, I did notice the ramp close by the front entrance so it's accessible to everyone. When, I went in the gun shop I was at an awe couldn't believe it, I had to sign the waiver on their tablet, or you can do on your own smartphone. I was on the rifle side of the range. My friend brought in his rifle guns, and when bringing in your own guns they will inspect it. You can't use your own ammunition only theirs, and they were telling customers that they're low on ammo(not sure if it's certain ammo). Once, checked in you give the person who checked you in your driver license so they'll hang on the wall until you finish. I remember I was on lane 12, and I wasn't ready the loud gun noises scared me BIG time! I did a lot of jumping, and it took me FOREVER to shoot at my target(Sarah) which I shot my target once in the shoulder. Lol. Indy Arms does offer gun classes for women only, and introduction to gun. I'm definitely going to look into taking some classes, and it's very beneficial to learn how to use a gun as well as hold the gun the correct way. If I could zero starts I would. This is NOT a customer service oriented business. I went in to purchase a specific pistol and, as usual, was delayed. The salesman told me to come back in one week to get the gun. One week later I came back and the gun was sold! At no time did the sales rep offer to let me pay for it and wait the week. I was never advised that the gun might be sold nor was I offered any way to reserve it. So after waiting a week I went back in for nothing! I have purchased from Hoosier Armory and Range USA without any of these shenanigans. They have always let me pay for the gun and wait for the delay to clear. Not these numbskulls, they never offered to let me pay and instead just put the gun back in the case. I filled out the paperwork, so the guy knew I was a serious buyer. Why didn't they take care of me? Is it because I have an ethnic name? I don't really know, but they did me wrong anyways. This shop is the closest to my home, but I will never go back after being jerked around like this. I will gladly drive a distance to deal with a business that actually cares about its customers. These guys don't care a bit about anything but turning over inventory as fast as possible. They are definitely not looking out for the consumer. Stay away, they act like they don't need your business and they'll treat you like they don't need you. They certainly will never get my business again. read more

Let me start by saying I am all about supporting local and so I went here to check it out and it was a Wednesday morning with 2 people working which is normal for weekdays in any business that's smaller but I stood at the counter for 25 minutes no help. Tried to get attention but they were helping a guy with his buddy. I walked around some more checking out the inventory and they just didn't acknowledge I was a presence in the store. So I left came back the next week again a morning there's someone standing at the counter on laptop not even a good morning g or hello. I went back after not shooting in over 2 years, (it was pretty much like riding a bike) and the same staff were still there, still being super helpful. The gentleman who taught my beginner firearms class remembered me (from TWO years ago and I'm sure 100's of students)- so that was definitely A+++ I bought the monthly pistol membership immediately after leaving that day, it saves goo-gobs of money and I have since made twice weekly shooting a part of my routine. They don't come to see if you need help at all when you walk in they all have stank attitudes and act like they don't want to help another thing is they charge a crazy amount for 50 rounds 9mm I never paid 29.99 for a 50 pack that is crazy then they didn't tell us the prices for nothing it was our first time and they took advantage of us clearly we even called they before we went they said all you really pay for is targets, eyes an ears, and ammunition but they said it wouldn't be much at all since I told him I'm not trying to spend a lot I ended coming out of pocket $200 so I don't recommend nor do i recommend the range it's small and very compact so it is very extremely loud even with the headphones. read more

I had never been here before and wanted my own experience because my grandson said he had with his friends and felt like they were racist. Went to the Women Armed Class and everyone was nice from when I walked in the door. Checked in for the class and we had a full room. It was a very informative class andI learned things about guns that I never knew. The class was an hour long with questions and answers, afterwards everyone went to the shooting range at this time I observed, all the ladies in the class was very nice and I'm excited to bea part of the group. Afterwards I went out to the floor to check things out and look at some guns because I had no ideal what one cost. The man behind the counter was nice, showed us guns and answered all questions. At that time I thought I would come back. I decided to kill some time and look around in the store. Eventually, I decided to purchase some shooting gloves. As i attempted to pay with my debit card she asked to see my ID, keep in mind these were 30dollar gloves. Maybe she wanted to see my signature and date of birth? That would be okay, I guess? She then proceeded to try and scan my ID. What? What is this intrusive action. If I went to Walmart or Cabela's to buy gloves they would not have asked to scan my ID. Just buy from online stores, for many reasons. I called this place to get some fiber optic and tritium sights for my Glock. They told me they were in stock. I was clear that I wanted fiber optic AND tritium. I get there and they only had tritium sights. Either they're liars to get you into the store or they're incompetent. I chose to order the sights when I was there because they would install them for free if I bought through them. I figured it would be worth the extra $70 buying from them versus online (online substantially cheaper). I was told less than a week for delivery. 2 weeks goes by, I called and told they were a week out. 3 weeks goes by and I call for refund. They asked me to come into the store for a refund, but I told them I don't have time and they should do it over the phone. I was told I had to go to the store for a refund on something I was charged in full and that was never ordered, wow! A few days passed and they called me and issued a refund over the phone because the sights had **never been ordered**. Nearly a month had elapsed... If I forgot about the order and didn't call them 2 or 3 times, then they would have stolen my money. 2/5 vs 1/5 because they at least refunded the money and were cordial over the phone. However, he quickly changed subject when I pointed out that they had 3 opportunities to order the sights and never did. This makes them incompetent or thieves; here we are seeing a trend with incompetency. Just buy online; it's cheaper, easier, FASTER, and many online places offer lifetime warranties no questions asked. Even buy guns online and just use an FFL for transferring. Not worth the 30% markup on guns and 50-100% markup on accessories as compared to online. read more

1st off customer service was ok some of the employees seemed like they hated life working here. 2nd gun prices are reasonable. 3rd place is clean. Now for the not so good comments.1 the guns for rent always Jammed. 2 if you bring your personal weapon you HAVE to use their ammo which is absolutely ridicules I bought a 20 case of 300 AAC blackout for $20.00 at a gun event and it cost me $40.00 for a 20 case at this facility. Over all this facility seems great for people who are new to fire arms but if you want to use their range it's going to cost you a bunch. My advice, buy a fire arm and use a different gun range. read more
