I am a glutton for punishment!!! After my last review I found a new doctor. Unfortunately after a few years she moved! So, due to proximity I call fort mill family practice AGAIN. They say since it's been 3 years you can only be seen as a new patient. I say that fine and wait a month for an appointment. The day before my appointment I get a call saying the random provider I picked is leaving the practice AGAIN!!!!! This provider number 4!!!!! What does this office do to these doctors????? I had been with this practice for 35+ years. It began to decline in service during the sale of its practice 4 years ago. I contracted Covid in late September 2024 the doctor diagnosed me but did not include a chest xray to see it I got pneumonia. After 20 visits to this practice I was still not getting better, ended up with edema, CDIFF, lung infection, heart issues, and kidney dysfunction. Every visit included bp check, weight, and temperature and she takes notes and sends you for tests but never discusses the results, you need to Google it is what I was told. The care I was given could have cost me my life. I did seek specialists & they all agreed I did not get proper care. Check their credentials and if you get blood work done make sure your insurance covers it. They also overcharged me but I was refunded by Medicare it was completely covered. I thought I had a problem with billing but I could never get appointments timely, answers to my questions or about the medicines I was taking, could not sleep and could not get sleep medications when I needed them. Every aspect of my care was questionable. I found another doctor and was treated properly, discussions and actions were taken and I have learned so much more about what happened to me at FMFP. I was hospitalized 3 times during the course of my Covid due to the inaccurate care I received here. Gained 15 pounds of fluid and she sent me home with water pills I went to emergency room at 3 in the morning it was a life threatening experience they told me!!! Also I was never told to get a stool sample as I had severe diarrhea that turned into CDIFF and that can also kill you. God awful experience here.​​​​ read more

Dr. Pratik has been taking care of my family for several years. He is a good listener and takes our concerns seriously. The front desk staff is also very responsive. I don't know how the nice lady at the front does it, but she consistently has a very pleasant demeanor. absolutely one of the worst offices I have been to. I ended up walking out after waiting endlessly to be seen by a doctor. More than an hour or so passed and there was no doctor or staff person in sight. Ended up walking right back out. I have been coming here for two years. Normally just to get a physical to get HSA money. This year they did the physical only to find out a week before rally ends the year on November 30th that they didn't send in my paperwork. I'm out 600$. Today I came in because I hurt my back moving a concrete counter top. My nurse practitioner refused to give me a back spasm medication I know works and instead gave me fléxil that I've taken in the past and didn't work, I called back after still being in pain and a medical assistant flat out refused to give any pain medication, saying there was "no magic pill" for pain. I needed a new Primary Care doctor so I made an appointment to establish a new ongoing relationship with a new doctor. This is the first time I've ever dealt with a medical professional in SC so I wasn't really sure what to expect. The office was easy to find and it was clean. I arrived the requested thirty minutes prior to my appointment to find an empty waiting room and an empty reception area. I'm confused as it's 1:30pm on a weekday. Then a lady comes out and tells me that they must have forgotten to lock the door because they're currently closed for lunch.?. I tell her my appointment is at 2:00, and I came 30 minutes early as requested, so I'll be in the waiting area whenever they're ready. I don't think that was the result she was after, but I wasn't going to sit in my car for another half hour when I had in fact met their own appointment arrival time requirement. A few minutes later the receptionist calls my name and starts to give me the new patient forms when I stop her and tell her I've already filled them out, but I have a few questions. I could see the color drain out of her face when she realizes I'm going to ask pointed questions about very specific lines found in their new patient paperwork. Sure enough, she wasn't familiar with their paperwork and couldn't answer my questions. She clearly got flustered and told me that I'd have to speak to their office manager who just left for lunch. I told her that would be fine and we moved forward with my appointment. The nurse that took me to the room and took my vitals was nice enough, though felt kinda glazed over in dealing with just another patient. Her tone and body language seemed a little on auto pilot to me, but again, I didn't make an appointment because of the nurses, I made an appointment with FMFP to see a specific doctor, so I tried to remain optimistic. When the doctor came in, it felt like I was Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz walking out of the black and white house out into the colorful Land of Oz... The doctor was quick and on point and asked specific questions about my issue and listened to the answers. The doctor was slightly hurried and curt, but I could tell they're simply a person that gets things done and doesn't spend their time with chatter, so I shifted gears and adjusted my tone to match theirs and we seemed to get along just fine after that. The doctor listened to my issues, gave a quick physical examination then spun into action making me an appointment with an imaging center for the very next morning. I do feel like I made a good decision in going to FMFP; I liked the doctor and felt like they had a lot of experience and would help get me to a solution. The rest of the FMFP cast left a little to be desired, but nothing completely intolerable. read more

Went here for my Flu shot. It was great to be able to set an appointment on line to hold my place and then show up for services. Amy the Nurse Practitioner was great. There was still a wait of 30 minutes after I arrived but that's fine. I travel for work and getting to my primary care provider is difficult so this was the best solution for me. I've always found Nurse Practitioners to be very thorough and Amy was no exception. Nice to know of this option. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Zimmerman for a few years now. I love her and her staff. Dr.Z really cares and listens to me. She is very thorough to find out what is going on. Her nurse Teri Barker is super. Due to a change in insurance, I needed to find a new doctor who was in-network. FMFP is right down the road and my husband goes there as well, so I figured I'd give them a shot. I set up an initial appointment to establish a relationship and have my ADHD prescription refilled that I have been taking for 10 years now, of which my previous primary care doctor has always prescribed to me without any issues. Coincidently when I went to visit I was extremely under the weather, so it was perfect timing. Didn't wait long in the waiting room. The nurse who took my vitals was very nice. The doctor came in and seemed nice at first. We went over my records and updated everything needed in their system. I explained to her my medical history (stomach ulcers, IBS, etc. which is being treated by my Gastroenterologist). I also let her know that I am almost out of my ADHD prescription and will need a refill in the next week. In a completely condescending way, she glared at my like I had just run over her dog and said "We as a practice do not deal with people like you. You need a specialist. You are not normal and we don't prescribe ABC medicine." (Keep in mind I've been on it for 10 years now and have never had someone judge me the way she did.) She told me she'd follow up with a list of "behavioral health" doctors that I can visit. She did say she'd do it once to get me through until I find a "specialist" that I am comfortable with. This never happened. She did take my vitals again and I ended up having walking pneumonia. She prescribed me a strong antibiotic, which they sent in to my pharmacy a 6 HOURS AFTER I LEFT THE OFFICE. Turns out the antibiotic's side effects made my stomach problems WAY worse. It actually says "not recommended for patients with IBS, etc.) I missed a wedding and NYE with some family friends because I was SO incredibly sick. I was unable to leave the house and I ended up having C. Diff because of the medicine (which my gastroenterologist quickly corrected, thankfully!!) Had she read the side effects and put two and two together with my medical history, I wouldn't have gotten so sick and contracted C.Diff. It was a horrible 2 weeks, I lost about 11 pounds. About a week later I left a voicemail to follow up on the "behavioral health" thing and sent 2 emails regarding my ADHD medicine that she said she'd prescribe me until I find another doctor. 6 DAYS went by and I finally got a call, again being SO condescending and rude, explaining why they don't prescribe this medication. I am 32 years old and still don't understand why they were talking to me as if I was a child dealing drugs. I felt so annoyed and irritated. The lady on the phone told me again she would forward over a list of behavioral health doctors for me to consider, which I NEVER got. I never followed up because I felt so belittled and so uncomfortable. I would never want anyone treating me who was going to constantly judge me for something that is out of my control, much less prescribe me an antibiotic that gave me C.Diff. It's bad business and I would never recommend going here. read more

This office may seem like it has four doctors, but infact it generally has two in daily. This means that you end up waiting for hours and hours on end waiting to be seen. Not to mention how someone is frequently behind which can put you here for even longer. They wont usually wont even tell you how much longer it is when you are held back. Just dont waste your time and head over to the minute clinic across the street. read more

I have never been to a practice where I felt I was viewed as mainly an opportunity for them to make money. I was mislead about the cost and how they were going to bill my insurance. I recently moved to the area and needed care and testing. I was very clear about the charges my doctors office prior (who I trusted) would be. I explained if there was a problem or they were not in-network, to please be upfront. They assured me it would be the same with them. Well, it was NOT and ended up costing me much much more. When I tried to talk to them about it, and even asked to resubmit with the proper code (as per my insurance advice) the refused to do so, stating that it was MY responsibility to ensure what they quoted me was accurate, even though they ended up using different billing codes. When I asked if they would consider working with me, as many do during Covid financial hardships, they said they would send me paperwork to fill out to be reviewed. I called twice asking for them to send me the forms, which they never did. What they DID DO, is send me to collections for the remaining $250, which I had already paid them $260. First started going here about 6-7 years ago for a anxiety attack ( thought it was a heart attack)my doctor was Dr Yearta he said it was a panic attack- anxiety attack he prescribed me different kinds of medications that I tried finally found something that worked for me over the years blood pressure and cholesterol medicine I started taking only went in when something was wrong then he retired and started with Dr adelmen we just kept everything the same which all my medications were working as they should but had to start coming every three months or couldn't get my medications refilled well he went somewhere else in December so had my first appt with new guy Dr Gowen come in first time meeting him less than 5 mins said he don't prescribe some of the medications I've been on for years said there like alcohol and didn't know why they made the drugs so now I guess I'm off to looking for a new doctor one that cares about his patients also said he could send me to a psychiatrist and try medications like Zoloft and Paxil which I tried in the beginning don't like feeling like a zombie don't guess the guy knows everybody is different so looks like there'll be a lot of people in need read more

I am a long-time patient of this facility and I must say that our family is very pleased with the changes that have taken place there at Fort Mill Family. They have upgraded and enhanced the interior of the clinic but (most importantly, in my opinion) they have REALLY elevated the level of professionalism, communication and helpfulness in the form of a new clinic manager. Earlier, last spring, my wife had a problem with a bill and got nowhere with the previous office manager, who actually exhibited an angry, unprofessional attitude when we requested her supervisor's phone number. We had the same insurance issue at our most recent visit for my son but this time it was a new office manager that took care of our concern. She was kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable about what insurances cover and don't cover. (side point: she took my wife & I into a vacant room to talk about this instead of in front of everyone like the girl up front usually does! I prefer everyone behind me not hear my private business, thank you!) This office manager was efficient and compassionate and she addressed each of our questions patiently. She gave us her business card and said to call anytime we had a concern. My wife and I were so impressed with this that we are now comfortable recommending this doctor's office to all of our friends and neighbors again. I work for Carolina's Medical System now but we've been coming here for years and we didn't want to change our doctors--we've seen 3 of them. I'll admit that, because the clinic had gone down hill the past couple of years (tho we do really like the check out lady...she is always smiling and very sweet) we were seriously considering a change. However, our most recent experience here made us change our minds as our confidence has been restored. (They have new doctors, too--my son saw one of them and he was great!) I highly recommend this doctors office now and wish more offices were managed by people who are actually interested in us as individuals and not just a number. I have been a patient here for several years. The office itself seems to be ineptly run. Waiting periods tend to be long, important messages are lost, they keep wanting you to make office visits every month for medications that have been taken for permanent conditions. So every month you have to fight to get refills or spend money on another visit. I questioned the medication the nurse practioner prescribed for bronchitis because the FDA states it should not be taken by patients with a heart condition,which I have, then she prescribed a medication that has it had side effects I was concerned about (can cause diarrhea months after taking the medicine) and was told you will be fine just take it. I went to the minute clinic and got what I was normally prescribed (a run of the mill antibiotic) they were pleasant, efficient and I didn't have to wait forever. I'm already in the process of changing primary care doctors as a result. After accumulated issues over the past couple years my level of irritation went from a 2 to a 15 on a scale from 1 to 10. read more
