I don't usually go to spas, but after the first time going to this one for a massage (with Mary), I was hooked! The staff is amazing! Extremely friendly and funny. Marily is a pro at getting me to try new things because of her understanding of the benefits. So, because of her, I've not only had a massage, I got a massage/detox combo (actually went back for the detox two other times), and after felt amazing!!! I've been there for my first ever mani/pedi...my finger nails were so shiny without any polish. Mary also gave me my first facial and loved the results. Then when I knew I was coming up to get height and weight done for work (Army) I went to Marily again for her wrap treatment and lost 9 inches all over...making getting taped a breeze. I enjoyed my visit to The The Spa. The staff was incredibly kind. They took their time asking questions to make sure you got the type of care you needed. It's right next door to the PX on base so if you want to take a break from your wife while she shops, GET A MASSAGE. Trust me, it's worth your time. Make sure you know what you're asking for. If you say I want a deep tissue massage, trust me they are going to give you what you asked for. I walked out of there hurting so good. They also have home therapy products that you can use. Now on the other side of the coin, the establishment is small and clearly a startup that will only improve over time. The products used to build the place up are obviously cheap but I'm confident in a few years they will really be rocking it! My wife had Mark as the aesthetician and I had Brenda who gave the best pedicure massage I have ever had, and I try to get my dogs done every 3 months. Clean place that you won't overpay for. I used a gift certificate here today that my husband purchased for me and got a massage, facial, and pedicure. They ran out of time for my manicure but scheduled me for tomorrow. The massage was ok I think every masseuse has a different style that works for different people. I normally prefer a male and had a female. I get tense in my neck and shoulders and find that men normally apply more pressure in those areas. Don't get me wrong the massage was great just not what I was use to and my husband was not specific and never asked for a male masseuse for me just whoever was available. The facial was amazing, I can tell an immediate difference in the moisture in my skin. My skin becomes very dry and all day it has felt very hydrated. I'm almost scared to wash my face in the morning because I don't want the experience of my facial to end! During the facial they also gives a neck and shoulder massage. A male did that massage and provided perfect pressure to all of my stress knots in my neck and shoulders. The pedicure was nice and they offer a ton of different options such as detox and baby feet peel (I am sure I named all of those incorrectly). I will definitely be back for a pedicure to take advantage of all of their different types of pedicures offered. I would recommend all of the services I received to anyone looking for a day of relaxation and serenity. read more

I love this place, and have never gotten bad service. This spa is on a military base for all those civilians wanting to come here you need a military or dependent ID. I often get facials and manicures here. Today I paid for a facial, best one I have ever had. My pores are the cleanest I have seen them in years, trust me that is hard to do on my face. The facial was so relaxing I fell asleep during it. I am very happy with the skin care line and the cosmetologist that performed the facial. The worst 'spa' experience we've had. My husband and I booked a couples spa day that was supposed to be 2 one-hour Swedish massages, 2 half hour facials and a paraffin treatment. We arrived 15 minutes early and did the paperwork. they talked us into a facial upgrade to get one hour facials with skin analysis and personalized treatment and my husband got an upgraded massage from Swedish to therapeutic. They took us back 20 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start and gave us 30 minute facials which was literally just them rubbing 15 different things in our skin. Then they leave and for 20 minutes we don't hear from anyone. The massage therapists came in and we got a 35 minute massage because despite starting 25 minutes late they ended right on time. My husband did not get the upgraded massage. Then they asked us to get dressed as our time was over. We never received the paraffin treatment. As we checked out we expressed our disappointment and were told that because 'technically the paraffin treatment is free they can't discount our total for not doing it.' They offered to take $10 off each of our experiences after pushing back they agreed to take $5 more off for a total of $30. This was a $190 experience that we didn't get what we were promised on ANY of the components. This place is only pushing for profit and seems to take any appointment despite not being able to dedicate the time the customers are paying for. I will say though that Marco was a great massage therapist for the 35 minutes i had him. Overall would not recommend and would not return. read more

I was a walk in on a Wednesday afternoon. My person was totally annoyed at me for coming in and was even more indignant about the fact that I had gel that had to be removed first. BTW, if you have gel to remove it will cost AN ADDITIONAL $10; if you want to get gel done it will cost AN ADDITIONAL $20! You're already charging me $43 for a pedicure package and you want more to apply gel? My package apparently did not include a cuticle trim and I got one layer of color and one layer of top coat. The chair was the most uncomfortable chair I e ever sat in and I was stuck for two hours...(slowest pedicure ever). I also got made fun of in Spanish...that's right "wetta" speaks Spanish. I was a walk-in appointment today. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating and was able to book a waxing appointment for 20 mins after I had arrived. It was for eyebrow and underarm waxing. Although the person doing my eyebrows was courteous and took her time, my eyebrows were unevenly arched. She waxed too much hair off on the left eyebrow. The appointment in total took 59 mins. I had even showed her a past picture of how my eyebrows had been done before, multiple times. In the past, when I had these services done at the spa, it would have been half of the time, and my eyebrows were always arched evenly, to the point where I would get compliments on my eyebrows. When it came time to check out, the representative at the front desk asked how my appointment went, to which I replied I was disappointed in how my eyebrows were done, even though the esthetician was courteous. She looked at me, and on a positive note, I did receive a concession for the eyebrows without me having to ask anything. This was my first time at the Fort Sam Spa. I am not sure I would return back. If I have time, I will post a pic to show the differences. On a positive note, the staff is courteous, friendly, and have good customer service skills. read more

The ladies here are very nice. Called for same day appointments and got in both days I've called. They are located in the old commissary building next to the PX and signage isn't too great, but if you see signs for enterprise rental car or the optical shop the Spa is located in the same building. Had decent customer service. When I came in they didn't have anyone to do my eyebrows, so I made an appointment then came back later. Although I had to wait a little when I showed up for my appointment, the woman was very apologetic and explained they were short staffed that day. I understood and she still gave me the appropriate respect and service I asked for. I appreciated that and would come back anytime for my eyebrows. Felt a bit tense from classes so I called around for massages. This place does same days apps and walk-ins. Decided to get a quick 30 min with a 15 min reflexology add-on. Making the app over the phone was easy, and they send you a confirmation text. The facility appearance was average, nothing fancy, but your eyes are closed anyways right? Marco was my massage therapist. Really enjoyed his technique. They don't do traditional reflexology, but Marco had great pressure. Overall pleasant experience. read more

I will agree that this small spa, comprised of four small rooms is cluttered and not spa like at all. I will also agree that the services feel rushed. $35 for the deluxe pedicure which is equivalent or less than what I would've received as a "regular" $25 pedicure anywhere else. Upon entering the spa no one was at the front desk. I peeked my head into the back room...there was one lady working on a pedicure with her customer and another lady on the phone. I later realized that the lady in her phone was the receptionist. As a result they started my hour deluxe pedi late and still somehow managed to finished early. Anyways I would definitely only return here if I had no other options. Let me say this, the lady who did my pedicure was kind and personable. But the overall experience was - meh. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND the services offered at this salon. I am in the military stationed here & I received services from this salon. I went once & everything was ok. The second time I received services here I had an appt for one time, for a 2 hour service I was in the chair almost 4 hours. I scheduled a dip set on my natural nails & a citrus pedicure. The salon didn't have all the tools necessary to do a full dip on my natural nail. (They said the glue for the dip was out of stock). Instead I received acrylic over my natural nail. I've never had acrylic over my natural nail. 3-4 layers and the constant applying and removing. In less than 24 4 of my nails were chipped. Including my toes. Moreover, I was out due to personal reasons & couldn't return back to get my nails done. However, when it was time to get my nails redone the same lady that REASSURED ME I can come back at ANYTIME knowing I'll be out a couple weeks & the same lady that did my nails would NOT DO THEM AGAIN. The owner/manager Mary called me on today & told me that there's no way she can take me in withOUT charging me. She stated that the lady that did my nails and screwed up no longer works there & that is the individual that HAS to do my nails. Remind you all my friends maybe over 20 of us has booked & had services done at this salon. I will be sharing this with my fellow friends and associates here at Fort Sam. Please keep in mind we are confined to this base as standard precautions due to COVID-19. This is the only approved Spa we can go to here on base. You would think they'll pay attention to detail. There's no way to have services done and not the correct tools to perform the job. To include I left the "PRESET" 10 or 15% tip. I am super unhappy. Very bad for business. read more

I've had a couple of Brazilian waxes in the past and let me tell you this was the worst! My water, Mary, had me undress in front of her while she was in the room and lay down on some baby powder. She didn't cleanse the area and started waxing right away. She left multiple clumps of hair and when I asked her to go over it she did but still left a lot. I got a bikini cream to prevent ingrown hairs which was $26 but they didn't tell me before they gave it to me. I came in today for a classoc pedicure French tip. I enjoyed the massage and the nail technician caring for my toes, but I dont think she knows how to do French tip toes. For French tip, you are supposed to add on a translucent pink polish before you go straight into adding the white French tip. I knew right away she didnt know how to do French tip when she asked one of her coworkers, "is this the brush for French tip?" I really think the $31 charge for this type of service is extremely over priced.. I won't be coming here again and will just do my own nails for now. read more

Got a facial and massage. Both were just ok. The lady rushed thru my facial and then told me at the end that she had to cut it short? Never really got an explanation why. Massage was ok that felt rushed as well. The overall look and feel is not spa like at all. Very cluttered and unorganized. Worst Bikini wax I have ever gotten because the wax that the female use to continue the process with only off the hairs than completely remove it from the core. I find out three days later when most, if not almost all, of the hairs down there have grown fast. I was schedule for another bikini wax on the house. But it didn't work. My friend and I went here to try the Inch-Loss Body Wrap. We only learned of this service the day before and hoped to have it done the following day as we were leaving town soon following military training. Our wraps were done by Marily who was incredible. She was so accommodating, professional, and definitely went the extra mile to take care of us by fitting us in after the spa's regular hours and coming in on her day off to take care of us. The Inch-Loss Body Wrap exceeded our expectations. Initial body measurements are taken first, after which you are covered in clay and then wrapped in strips of cloth. Marily took great care in doing this process and it took about 30 minutes to complete. You then are placed in a sauna chair for 60 minutes (you can get out sooner depending on your wishes) and Marily regularly checked on us, giving us water if desired and providing towels for us to lean our heads back which made the experience very relaxing and comfortable. After getting out of the sauna chair, you are unwrapped and remeasured. Marily then calculated how many inches overall I lost, which was 14.5" in one session! Great results and I lost about 3 lbs of water weight in that one session alone. I highly recommend this service and spa, as well as Marily if you are ever able to get her during her work days. Glad we found this hidden gem and only regret that we leave so soon, otherwise we would be returning in a week to have another wrap done! read more
