I would NOT recommend having your procedure done here. If ever there is a time to pay attention to the details, it's when having surgery done! My surgeon & anesthesiologists were great, the rest not so much. I was pretty much rushed out the door post-op. A Friday afternoon, right before a holiday weekend, I awoke from surgery in lots of pain (agony). I was given some additional pain medication & then after no more than 10mins., asked to put my clothes on as my ride was on the way & possibly already there. I was still in pain & just getting my senses back, otherwise I would have spoken up & told the PACU nurse I was not going anywhere just yet. Later that evening I showered & discovered electrodes still on my lateral side & back. They were in such a rush to get my out the door, they didn't bother to check for nor remove equipment left in place. ASK your surgeon for another facility!!

Ask the Community - Fort Sutter Surgery Center

Do they let visitors in yet? Vaxed? Nothing on the site I can see except 1 person can generally accompany but it depends on the exact facility.

One visitor allowed per patient with a mask

Is there a parking garage for the surgery center?

Yes. Park on floors three and above and they do validate as the garage is cash only. Try to park near elevator to make things easier on the staff and to prevent you from having to move your vehicle.

He is very skillful in IV insertion. I am a very hard sticker patient since I go monthly for my infusion and needs IV access, and my veins are very difficult to access due to scar tissue, given that I have been getting this treatment for years. And I have been in the hospital many times due to my cerebral aneurysm rupture problems, and surgeries leading to my vein collapse and scar tissue complications. BUT RN Jim N. has always been able to access my veins the first time and easily! I just want to applaud how Jim is an absolutely great asset to Sutter Medical & at the infusion center in downtown Sutter! Jim's Sutter Infusion colleagues are also excellent, competent & compassionate! Jim N .is just unique!!! I highly recommend Sutter Infusion staff & the facility! What a great patient experience I have had there !!!

This did not occur with my first kid that I had at Kaiser! The original anesthesiologist was an older woman. She seems frustrated and couldn't get her hands still. She got upset after I told her the needle wasn't placed right. At this point she kept asking where do you feel it and get jamming it in more. This almost caused me to pass out. She was very rude and not helpful. I knew she messed up at that very moment. When she entered the room she didn't have any bedside manner. I expect anesthesiologist who is giving an epidural to be cordial... Now 6 months later after having my baby.. I'm constantly in pain and having severe neck and shoulder pain. I'm just being told to get another blood patch. Staff needs to be better trained. Another woman was in the ER with me for the same reason. So this is definitely a Sutter issue.

Parking is relatively easy to find in their parking garage or lot. Don't forget to have the front desk validate your parking ticket before you leave. I walked in at roughly 2 AM with excruciating abdominal and flank pain. I thought I might be having an appendicitis or another kidney stone (I had one several years ago). I waited in the lobby for roughly two and a half hours before being seen. The lobby was hell on earth an inundated with frequent flyers, addicts, and homeless patients. Security took care of one situation promptly and did absolutely nothing about several other bothersome situations. I was given Toradol and Zofran. They were relatively worthless and counterproductive as they caused horrific gas which resulted in worsening stomach pain. I finally had CT scans after being there for approximately seven hours and was discharged after being there for 10 hours. I left still in pain and wish I would've stayed home. They didn't do anything to address my severely elevated blood pressure from being in pain nor my pain. I completely understand and respect there's an opioid crisis and that people unfortunately waste valuable emergency medical health services in efforts to seek pain medication, but I've been a chronic pain patient for 10 years and have never gone to the emergency room ever seeking pain medication. I just wanted to be treated with common courtesy and human kindness and made to feel a little more comfortable. I think they failed to achieve those reasonable goals. I was also very bothered and disappointed they routinely spoke with family and patients and gave confidential health updates in the waiting room in front of other patients. It seems like there were numerous HIPAA violations and utter disregard for patient privacy. I would consider going elsewhere if I need emergency health services in the future as I left very dejected, disappointed, and utterly exhausted. It was a very frustrating ordeal.

Just me sitting here while Kaiser pretends my time isn't worth anything. And let me make something VERY clear: I pay GOOD money for this care. I'm not a Medi‑Cal patient where the system drags its feet because they think it doesn't matter. I pay full premiums. I pay copays. I pay into this system every month. Medical care is NOT free for me, so why is Kaiser acting like I'm here for charity? If you're going to run an hour behind, at least communicate. Respect the people who keep your lights on. Respect the patients who actually PAY for this service. Respect the fact that we have jobs, schedules, and lives outside this waiting room. This level of disregard is embarrassing for a healthcare provider. Do better.

Joy Ignacio, she really lives up to her low ratings. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe my visit will be better, but nope, I was wrong. I knew there was a suspicious reason why she was the only pcp who had more open appointment availabilities than others, because no one wants her due to her bad ratings.. First, she was 2 hours late to the appointment. I brought up a very common issue but she didn't know what it was and referred me to a specialist and didn't wanna do her job. I told her I just need the medication, and how another pcp I saw from my home town was able to prescribe it to me, but I declined it at that time. Now that I need the medication and asked for it, she said I should just go back to my old pcp then... I had to find another pcp at a different clinic, and my new pcp was able to prescribe this medication to me without any issue. Also, this clinic's patient registration form is almost 30 pages long. Took me half an hour to fill out. Never in my life have I had to do this much for a registration form before. Then they verbally ask you the same questions over again later when they take you in, like what's the point of making me fill all that out if you're not going to look at it and ask me all over again.

This location seems to serve a wide variety of patients, so I typically only come here for pediatrics for my son or women's health for myself. Unfortunately, my experiences here have been pretty inconsistent. Parking is one of my frustrations. There are several parking spots available, but the areas closest to the departments I need always feel overcrowded and difficult to manuever due to tight paths. It can already start your visit off on a stressful note searching for parking. Service here is very hit-or-miss. A few months ago, I brought my son in for his middle school immunizations, and everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly, efficient, and we really appreciated how easy that visit was. However, our most recent visit on Tuesday, February 17th was a completely different experience. We checked in right on time at noon at Suite 1C on the first floor and were told to head up to the second floor. Once we got there at the instructed room (214?), there was a sign on the door asking patients to wait and please do not knock so as not to disturb others. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes, which thankfully we could accommodate that day, but it still felt like a long time given that we had an appointment. When we were finally seen, the staff member confirmed my son's information and what shots he needed, including his COVID booster. She asked if he wanted both shots in one arm or one in each arm, and he chose one per arm. What happened next was honestly concerning. She administered both shots very quickly--which would have been fine--but then placed the bandages after the fact without properly aligning them with the injection sites. She put a bandage on each arm, but not where the shots were actually given. I quickly noticed that both injection sites were still bleeding because the bandages were misplaced. While she was putting away supplies, I had to put on new bandages myself. As a parent, that really didn't sit well with me. I understand efficiency, but basic care and attention to detail--especially when it comes to preventing infection--should not be overlooked. My son also noticed the error and found it unprofessional as well. The appointment felt rushed from start to finish, especially after already waiting a significant amount of time. I didn't say anything in the moment because we just wanted to leave, but it's something worth noting for anyone visiting this location. Based on my experiences, I would definitely choose the Fair Oaks location instead but unfortunately, for my son, we have to come to this location for Pediatrics.
