Very patient and easy going. He has all the equipment you might need or you can being your favorite rod and reel. If you want to keep your catch for a tasty meal (nothing like fresh fish). Steve will filet the fish for you so you can take your catch home. Steve doesn't use live bait. That's cheating. This is real fishing. It's active fishing so come prepared to cast (and catch) A LOT of fish. July is great for top water action. The big catfish come in November and December. Overall the river is clean but there were some spots where trash was deposited from previous washouts. I would try a run farther up river for a better experience next time. The staff was friendly and helpful but the rental equipment is definitely well worn and some in our group had problems with adjusting their seat backs and the seat cushions were quite hard after 1 hour on a 3 hour trip.

I am not sure when they started because I don't remember them being out there last year, but they have jet ski rentals. The rates are much cheaper compared to most other places in the dallas/Ftw area. I believe the place is called BNB Jet Ski Rental - a fairly small set up. The guy we dealt with knew all about the skis (we were first timers) Gave us a few pointers and tips. he was a cool enough dude - took good care of us,The skis ran great, they aren't the old crappy ones some people are renting out, they are pretty new skis. We rented one for the whole day. Our group had a great time!! We even made reservations to again in a few weeks. I don't know what Joseph D (the guy with a "bad" review of this place), was talking about - sometimes people have things to do. The rental place isn't very big, so I am sure they don't have very many employess like most business do. Advice to Joseph D - pick up the phone before you go somewhere next time!!

Once, we were just riding around during sunset and catching the sights. Another time, we went on to go fishing. It was my first time, but I didn't catch anything. It's really quiet and tranquil. The front office staff is accessible, reasonable and open to new ideas. And to top it all off...the other slip owners are very friendly. There has been times when the spring rains flood the lake. The slips are floating slips, so your boats are safe. And, the staff find a way to to get you to your boat slip, even if the parking lots are covered in water!! I literally followed the pavement, which was helpful because there were signs that told you the distance and which way to go. I needed some time to clear my mind before I started my day & it was so pleasant to be surrounded by such pretty views. There were other people walking, running & biking the trail. Being that it is May, the weather was hot & humid however I made sure to arrive early in the morning before it got too hot. Even though there were restaurants in the surrounding area, the whole entire trail was maintained & clean. I highly recommend visiting this trail. It was really beautiful!
