My wife brought me to GUNTRY for my birthday, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with a simulation session, which was so cool. I am already planning to do it again. The shock pack that zaps you when you get hit is wild. It is a little crazy, but honestly really fun to try. We spent an hour at the range afterward. It is definitely loud and a bit tight, but it gets the job done. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful the whole time. The retail shop is huge too, with tons of firearms and accessories to browse. We ended the night at their cigar and whisky event, and that was a great time. The whisky was strong and plentiful, and dinner was delicious. It was all catered in house by the cafe. Pricing is pretty reasonable overall. Their lesson rates seem lower than a lot of other places I have seen, although I have not had a chance to take one yet. My only complaint is that I wish it were closer. I live in DC, so it is definitely a trek, but it was worth the drive.

I booked myself and my wife on the HQL Course with Annapolis Defense & Security. My wife has very little handgun experience. I served for 22 years as a Sapper, former Commando and Military Diver with extensive handgun experience, including concealed carry; I wondered what I was going to learn. The course was outstanding, Joe is a phenomenally experienced Instructor; I learned a lot and even though a small part of the course, Joe helped me iron out a few habits! Joe easily catered to the different experience levels in the class and no-one was lost throughout the course, as the content was explained and different experience levels were catered for. You will find a plethora of quality information on safe firearms conduct, shooting techniques, and self-defense strategies. Many other instructors overlook important parts of what you need to know in regard to self-defense and the legal ramifications of even legal "good" shootings. I wanted to be better informed and know what the laws are in Maryland regarding firearms. I wanted to be informed so that I could make an informed decision regarding firearms policy and possession. The owner of Maryland Firearms and Tactical Training was my instructor and was a delight to meet and learn from. We had lively discussion during the class and he was so gracious throughout the day. He offered coffee, water, snacks, small breaks and even a ride to the range. The course is worth triple than what it costs. This course is hours long and includes a trip to the range to put into practice what you are learned. I learned so much! My instructor and I had a robust ethical and political conversation on the drive back as well, and even when disagreeing on points, he engaged with me respectfully and thoughtfully.
