I've never had such a terrible service experience with a mortgage company. After we closed, they…read morewere supposed to mail us a servicing package but it never showed up. I mailed in payments using the information we were given at closing, but kept trying and failing to get an online account set up. Four months later, I finally got through to someone in the servicing department and they informed that they had already sold our loan to another company and that they wouldn't be taking our payments anymore. If I hadn't called about the online account issue, we would have never known that anything had changed or that we needed to send payments to somewhere else. Shouldn't they have to disclose when they sell your loan?? Edit: We found out that they had been mailing our statements and disclosures to the wrong address. When the mail kept getting returned to them for 4 months, they never reached out to us. Despite providing our mailing address at closing, Loan Depot mailed everything to our physical address (to which the USPS will not deliver mail). They transferred our loan from the California office to New Jersey office about a month after closing, but I never got the notice so I kept mailing payments to the California address which apparently was very wrong (and "amazing that your payments still got through" according to the service department). Even after the inter-office transfer, no one reached out us to ask why everything they mailed us kept getting returned by the USPS as un-deliverable mail. Unbelievably poor handling of the situation. Edit #2: After calling twice to confirm that they had corrected our mailing address, we are now receiving forwarded mail that they're sending to an old residential address that we have never used for mail. This address was never mentioned in any of my phone calls by either myself or the service representative, and I have no idea why they chose to start using it or where it came from. What a mess!

I was considering a refinance to reduce my mortgage payment via elimination of mortgage insurance…read more I had been locked in at 4.25% interest on a 30 yr fixed FHA loan--not bad--but when interest rates dropped in mid-October (2014) I plugged the numbers into the zillow mortgage calculator to get some automatic bids, and K2 lending provided the most appealing offer at 3.875% on a 30 yr conventional loan with pretty low total costs (it ended up being something like $1700). I had to hope for a reasonable appraisal so that the loan-to-value was under 80%, and fortunately that is what happened. However, the agent we worked with at K2, Darren Snow, had a plan in place to reduce our payment regardless of whether the appraisal came in where we thought it would, or whether it came in lower. They do not promise to close the loan within 25 days but in my case they did--and my total payment actually came in lower than they had initially estimated. I was kind of a high maintenance customer because I had to close this refinance quickly. Darren and colleagues were professional while on a pretty tight schedule during a very busy time in which everybody and their sister was trying to refinance. In the end, K2 lending reduced my mortgage payment by a whopping $350/month. And because of their low fees, I will basically get back to even within two months--before I even actually make my first new mortgage payment--because I will save more money during the two skipped payments than I payed in fees. Pretty spectacular. Great company. So impressed!

We were very pleased from the first call to the final signing of all the documents. Our loan officer was Mr. Jared Bouzek. He came to our home to begin the process and make sure we understood how it would work. He helped us with documentation and even called us while he was out of town to make sure everything was going ok. The closing was even at our home. We never had to go to their office, including the closing with Tood. But, it did not end there. He has continued to follow-up to be sure we were set up properly for our first payment and that we received our escrow back from our previous lender. We would highly recommend AIM.

They treated me as an inconvenience for asking basic questions... still feel bad about the phone call. They truly made me feel like I was dumb and wasting their time. This is a red flag.
