Houston Hospice - Diamond Team, lasted a week before I had to fire them and find another hospice…read morethat could provide end of life care for my mother. To begin, their intake nurses are rough, belligerent and detached. The lady we got could care less about my mother, she just wanted to do the minimum and get out. Not a single commitment was upheld, not one. We called for support and help four times in the first week and the average time to hear back from someone was two hours, then another two hours for a nurse to arrive. So if you have an emergency, just call the ambulance and have the hospital take care of it, it's faster, and your loved one will suffer less. Now, as a result of me firing them, they became hostile, threatened to make me pay for equipment they left behind and failed to retrieve. They never took into consideration that my mom had died and their employees, having missed the appointment to pick up the equipment, lied and said a dead woman was preventing them from getting it. We choose to go with another company who was hands down better suited for caring for end of life patients. Houston Hospice is a money game, you are a dollar sign, if you are cool with that, then use them.

When my mother was discharged home, we were told her equipment would be delivered the day before discharge. That did not happen. We were also told a hospice nurse would be at the house waiting to assess her when she arrived home. That also did not happen. I had to call multiple times just to find out where the equipment was and when a nurse would arrive. We then learned she had not even been fully admitted yet. It took several days to sort everything out during a very stressful time. One nurse who came out did not appear to know how to use the oxygen equipment. A week into hospice care, we still had not seen a nurse aide and again had to call to ask what was going on. The organization has felt extremely disorganized from the start. Communication between admissions and the clinical team does not appear coordinated, and the promises made to our family were not followed through. Most concerning, the nurse assigned to care for my dying parent has spent significant time on her phone during visits rather than focused on patient care. This has been incredibly disappointing during one of the hardest times for our family. Families considering hospice should ask detailed questions and verify exactly what services will actually be provided and when.

Yet once Michele White the caseworker took over, she dropped the ball. Although she was the one that shared a listing of providers for cremation, she failed to enter that information under my step-fathers case. Once he passed, the nurse Jariah called a company that is contracted by Harris County to come pick him up as if his family did not already complete our due diligence and make the final arrangements. My step-father was picked up from his assisted living facility and taken away like he was trash and an inconvenience. I had to call around looking for him in the time when we should be able to grieve our loss. Instead, I was forced to contact another company that I didn't even know existed and complete some documents to have him released to the provider we originally selected. No apology was offered. No sorry for your loss. Only call I received was for the family to be blamed for everything. Their staff acted as if our family was not proactive and caring enough to make the final arrangements in a timely manner. I highly recommend to find another hospice provider. These people a cut throat salesmen looking for the newest victims to target. They tell you everything they think you need to hear and once you sign the paperwork, they forget you exist. These people do NOT care about the patient but the billing. e were failed and yet we were the problem. Sadly no one cared nor were they concerned. Run and do not look back.

This is extremely disturbing to the patient as the patient think is it his/her love one - even though they do not have the direct no. to the room. There was debate if this was treatment or comfort. Our Doctor and the "3" respectfully agreed this was comfort. However, when we arrived at the Memorial Hermann Hospice the Bi-Pap was a small Phillips Respironics AVAPS, and the o2 was set to 45%. My sister passed within minutes of being on this lesser machine with much less oxygen. Why did they not increase the setting to at least 90% (close to the max for this model)?? And why did we not get the same or better equipment as promised? Are they liars or incompetent? Please visit this facility and visually confirm the room equipment before signing the hospital release papers... you don't have to sign them. You can stay at the hospital and be transferred to an Ltech room... but still have the required equipment for your loved one. Please visually verify everything they say they will provide... and ensure settings and oxygen are what is required for the comfort of your loved one.Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. First of all they…read morehave an egotistical doctor who doesn't even know what my condition is and refuses to even find out ways to help me. I am in my 20's and NO patient should ever have to endure the pain they caused me. I have been screaming and throwing up in pain for so long and the nurse came and I'm not afraid to say her name. Her name was Ruth. She was very very narcissistic and told me to "ride out" my pain and she straight up threatened me and tried to make me feel bad for telling my mom how I was feeling and she said "you don't want to go to a nursing home do you?" That was the most disgusting thing to say to someone who is dying. I should not even be in this position at this age. I had asked her to call the doctor and see if he would help me which I already knew he wouldn't and sure enough he didn't do anything to help me. I was featured in some posts about the company and this was when I started and they were nice to me but all the sudden Ruth as well as the doctor and Amy a nurse who came and was raising her voice at me and saying since my vitals looked fine I wasn't in pain. I think this is the most disgusting thing to do to a young person who does not want to be bed bound and in pain. Do NOT send your loved ones here. They also had bad reviews on their corporate Google page so that should have been a red flag. I will be going to the higher ups to discuss this issue because this is unacceptable and I do not want anyone to get the same treatment I got from them. This company will trick you and make you feel special and loved by them but as soon as they gain your trust they completely take advantage of it. I no longer support this company at all and I saw some other people who have had similar issues. Also Ruth tried to sugar coat the nasty thing she was going to say while I was moaning in pain and couldn't even talk. She told me that she's just a mother figure to me. That is FAR from the truth. Disrespecting someone in such a vulnerable situation and basically taking advantage of them is so disgusting and inhumane. If any higher ups read this please contact me. I am already going to report to the board of nursing and the doctor as well for negligence. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing she's probably treating other people like this too. She also told me that the doctor won't do anything for my pain. Isn't the goal of hospice to control pain? It surely doesn't seem like they care about that. The only staff member from this company that has came and seen me and has been nothing but wonderful is Crystal. She definitely deserves to be a nurse as she shows care and compassion for her patients. If this nurse continues to treat people like this she honestly needs to retire because taking out your feelings on me is not okay with me or my family. We are getting set up with a new company and I'm so thankful for that and that I will be getting the treatment I need and deserve. Again I do ask if there is a CEO or a higher up at the corporate office please reach out to me! I would love to share my experience. I hope she retires soon so she doesn't do this to other people. The doctor as well needs to get into reality and know that he doesn't know everything and that's okay but just not treating someone and not even telling my family what company would know how to treat me is one of the many reasons. Your ego is hurting and possibly killing so many people and the fact that you don't even care is so sickening. You think you can get away with this but I assure you this is going to be reported. I no longer support this company at least the OK region. I hope one day this message gets out to them and they realize how much damage they have done not only to me but to my family. As soon as the nurse left my mom said let's call around and change companies and I'm so thankful that a company will be able to help me. Marketing social media for this company is just rainbows and butterflies and they are making it seem like they are the hero's and the best which is the scary part. I hope people can read this message before they ever consider going with this company.
