We've primarily relied on Sears for outdoor items like our umbrella, backyard table+ chairs, including our charcoal BBQ- which to this day, it's still in good condition and use it for my seafood to avoid touching hubs' meats in the gas grill. But after 2 Westchester Sears location closings, we've now turned a new leaf and depend on Fortunoff on Central Ave in Yonkers for some of their outdoor selections. While Fortunoff isn't a BBQ grill destination, they almost have all your backyard needs. We haven't felt the need to replace any of our bigger outdoor pieces- because again, they're fine. But once they go out of their misery, I might consider this place for their outdoor variety. I mean...if you're going for that gawdy look, they gotchu covered- but if you want more of a clean-edge/'minimalist' feel, Fortunoff added that too. Service from the young gals is choppy, patchy and weak on dialogue- then again, I'm not going out with them for cocktails- but I do crack a smile to ease the blow during my transactions. read more

i went to fbys in yonkers on central ave to pick up plenty as in large picnic table 2times , a bunch of chairs including 4 lounge chairs , 4 outdoor side tables and whatever the pretty sales gal was able to sell me .most items were on sale and the quality looks sturdy which i cant say about the old patio furniture that will go in the garbage truck. the styles are cool and chic and its easy to move around if needed .everything was delivered on date promised and all pieces came via ups the same day with assembly a snap .i recommend you spend a bit more for durable outdoor furniture and accessories cause getting cheaper patio furniture will cost you more in the long run. read more

Not happy at all with the patio furniture I purchased from Fortunoff's. Originally purchased a set in June 2018 but right away the brown finish started coming off the table and became white & blotchy. I called the company and they replaced the table & I just figured it was just a mistake in the manufacturing of the original table. Well it wasn't just the 1st piece right after the second table arrived it started again. I am so annoyed the chairs are all fine but what am I supposed to do now get a table that doesn't match to go with them. read more

Buying patio furniture is one of those dreadful things that has no easy, inexpensive path. We buy almost everything online these days, but the thought of buying $1000s of dollars worth of furniture that has not once been seen or sat on made us uneasy. And each year there are less and less places to find it locally. We had gone into Fortunoff 2 years ago and decided it was "way over priced", then spent the last two years looking online and sitting on sets that friend bought on wayfair and overstock. Ultimately we decided this...the quality at Fortunoff is top notch for what we bought, a sectional and swivel chair. More comfy than some of the cheaper online sets our friends bought. And comparatively not really that much more than online, even less than some of the higher end brands with the same quality. Bottom line, if you are looking for cheap crap, Sears, Kmart, Home Depot or online is your place. If you like quality at reasonable prices and quite frankly amazing service, go to Fortunoff. Tom the store manager helped us and he was amazing. Absolutely amazing. He is the reason we ultimately bought here. He works his butt off and it pays off. And yes, you can haggle a bit, annoying but isn't it worth the effort to save some $$$. read more

I recently purchased the Cordoba Dining set for 6. The experience was easy, and the price was within out budget. Misha the salesperson worked out a package with all we wanted for one set price. Table, 6 chairs, umbrella, table cover, warranty and everything was in stock and ready for delivery. We also had 7 days to be fully satisfied with our purchase. We were so anxious to receive our table as we were planning a BBQ over the 4th of July Weekend. As deliveries go, they can be iffy, but I must say it went seamlessly. Order was correct, the delivery Guys were professional and polite, they set everything up as I requested, and we were super happy. Later, while enjoying our set we realized that we should have gone with an extendable table and change the Umbrella out for a different color. So, we took a ride to Yonkers, and put the 7day policy to the test. It just so happened that Misha was in and just as promised we made the exchange no problem. So far, we are extremely pleased. The sales person encouraged buying the guardsmen insurance. According to the salesman this insurance will cover damages to the patio set. I just recently discovered several chips on 3of the patio sets. I put in a claim for repairs. According to guardsmen they don't cover it. If you purchase a patio set from fortunoff don't buy the garbage insurance they recommend. read more

Extremely overpriced patio furniture, they raise the price high and then give discounts so you end up paying more then it's worth. Some of these reviews sound to perfect to be true. They can haggle a little, but it's not worth it as they say. Sounds like it's written by a Fortunoff employee. read more

We were always fresh Christmas tree people until my husband brought home a pre-lit beauty from Fortunoff Backyard Store in 2011. They had me at pre-lit. It was great; our friends thought it was real. But it was expensive; worth it we rationalized by what a fresh tree cost every year, and over time it would pay for itself. Well it eventually died (the pre-lit failed) and couldn't be revived. So, back to the same store I went. Now, mind you, I've seen beautiful pre-lit trees at other stores - Costco included for a FRACTION of the price - but being a loyal customer I went back. The most comparable tree to the one we had was $799. $799! I asked if there was any "room" on that. Helen, the salesperson, said "no" we can't negotiate the prices. Too bad. Most places can and do. After swallowing hard, I bit the bullet and bought the tree. Helen told me as a a result we earned $50 in free ornaments. BTW, the ornaments are beautiful. We picked $53 dollars worth. She told me I owed her the balance of $3 and change. Helen, btw, works on salary and commission. I asked her to waive the $3 and she said she wasn't allowed to. Now, I work on commission too. I have more than once "eaten" a piece of mine to make a customer happy. We are repeat clients, in for nearly $1500 in f-ing Xmas trees. Really Helen, waive the $3 gd dollars. I don't want to sound cheap - it's not really about the $3 - it's about making a customer happy. A customer who can easily buy a tree somewhere else. And next time, I will. Further, they loaded the box on a handtruck that I had to wheel out and load into my car. They asked (from the doorway, 100 feet away) for me to bring the handtruck back in. It's sitting in their parking lot. In a nutshell, good tree, bad customer loyalty experience. read more

I had Helen help me buy a patio set a couple weeks ago and she was perfect. She advised me on what furniture would be best for my 3 young kids, explained how I should care for it and made the process of choosing a table and chairs so much easier. When they didn't have matching chair cushions and umbrella in stock that I wanted she sent me photos over email so I'd know my other options.
