I don't know why I imagined chiropractor offices to be dark and not fun to go to but Hawkeye is the opposite of that. The interior is decorated very nicely (modern and clean) and everything is so organized. Prior to coming in, I was able to send in my information all online and verify insurance coverage. My first two appointments were getting x rays and a consultation on my plan of care. Dr. drew is very well educated and was methodical in his approach. I didn't realize how much pregnancy and having a baby did to my lower back pain. During my therapies, there is always a staff member helping out if needed and they are always friendly. There's sanitizer wipes all around and you can tell the office is well maintained and clean. Money-driven practice. I called for an appointment and confirmed that they take my insurance. I went in for an initial consult and X-rays. I had follow up appointment the following morning to discuss results and treatment. I left my initial appointment and 15 minutes later I was flabbergasted with a $332.39 bill. Upon review of the bill I noticed I was being billed for two visits and my insurance had not been billed yet. The response from the office was that I had a deductible and that they were billing me for my follow up as well. Oh! And payment in full was due next day! I called the office to cancel my next day appointment as i at least thought i would have 1-2 weeks before my insurance processed my claims. I spoke to Dr. Drew and expressed that this was unethical and any intentional billing of services not provided is considered fraud. I later emailed to obtain copies of my x-rays and of course there is a $20 fee for a CD because they claimed due to "HIPPA" they can only provide a CD. Fyi - Electronic records are HIPAA compliant. I'm sure the Dr. Is great but you either need to have an good insurance, or be rich to afford this practice. read more

When I first came in I was in so much pain. I couldn't feel my toes, my ankle was pinching nerves and my lower back was shot. I also had headaches every day. TL;DR - I highly recommended Dr. Drew and the entire Hawkeye team! I've always had bad posture since childhood. Becoming a new mother of two in 2020 I found myself in loads of pain driven by my posture while nursing and carrying my newborn. The pain in my lower back, neck and shoulders was chronic and unbearable. I saw an ad on Facebook for Hawkeye and clicked the link to set up an appointment. I was promptly contacted by Dr. Drew himself to personally talk me through what he does and how he can help ease my pain. My consultation was personalized and the results were shared the very next day! I'm now on a 2x/week regimen that includes traction, therapy exercises/stretches, the "dinner roll" (weights to return the curvature in my neck), and of course the adjustment itself. Aside from the adjustment service, the entire staff are so amazingly friendly and welcoming. I often bring my 6yo son with me and they always remember our names, and they are so great with him. It does not solve the problem only provides a very short relief for a lot of money. NOT WORTH IT. Dr. Drew consults you about the treatment you are to undertake and insurance coverage. All this is covered in the initial appointment. After X-rays are evaluated, the process begins. A series of exercises and adjustments corrected a scoliosis issue I have been living with most of my life. I also have a congenital issue with my neck. My overall mobility,posture and strength has improved. I'm in my 60's. You can do this! I am also a full time caregiver. The stress this puts on your back and shoulders can be overwhelming. The exercises help strengthen not only your back but your entire body. Pain sometimes floats around your body depending upon the activity you have engaged in. The chiropractic care was good - I came in with severe pain and after several weeks I was doing much better. The not-good part is the financial aspect. I came in with severe pain; I would have done anything to feel better. We went thru the paperwork, and I was clear about how the three split payments of $900+ (after insurance) was more than I could simply pay out of pocket, I was assured that they would work out a payment plan with me. The first two payments were covered by my HSA/FSA accounts, but the third payment I requested to split into two parts - the first one on one paycheck, the second payment on my next paycheck two weeks later. It was refused, the best they could offer was the first payment that week, and the second the next week - so same paycheck, that's not a payment plan. Also, I requested that they did NOT keep my debit card on file three separate occasions, but each time I was assured that they wouldn't charge it. After the frustration of dealing with the lack of common sense with the "payment plan" I cancelled all future appointments and requested the final bill of whatever I had already had for service that hadn't been covered by insurance. They STILL charged me the full $900+ that week - on my debit card that they were not supposed to have on file. Fraudulent charges, and I'm still dealing with my bank regarding the issues. I was told two different amounts of what I "still owed" and each time it grew. The chiropractic care was great, the financial and business side of my interactions with them was terrible. read more
